Inexcusable: Spiderman 3's Graphics for Wii

GameNation express their horror at the graphics of Spiderman 3 on the Wii:

"Upon looking through IGN's review section, I came across the newly developed Wii game, Spiderman 3. Alas, it received a 5.4/10, which is not good at all. I then proceeded to look at the screen shots for the game, and was stricken by how bad the graphics looked."

IGN gave it a 5.7 out of 10.

Not far off from the 6.0 handed out to the 360 and PS3 ver of the same game.

Lazy game developers.
This is ET all over again!

@ ITR
"IGN gave it a 5.7 out of 10.", "Not far off from the 6.0 handed out to the 360 and PS3 ver of the same game."

"Lazy game developers" are one thing, but poor reviews another. The next-gen version of Spiderman deserves a better score. Atleast, in the range of 7.8 and 8.1 :)

ITR7002d ago

The DS got a 8.1 from IGN.

Spiderman 3 is a rental only game for all 3 consoles.

specialguest7002d ago

That right there is the pinnacle of lazy game developers. Those buildings looked like they came straight out of Superman 64(maybe worse!). I'm not trashing Wii, just the developers, because this is inexcusable, especially knowing for a fact that the Wii is much more powerful than the PS2.

Bonsai12147002d ago

haha, i was just going to say it looked like superman 64... i'm actually shocked that it looks that bad

ITR7002d ago

It almost looks like someone cut off the funding for the game in mid-development.

It doesn't even look finished.

sak5007002d ago

No I think they made all the models of the buildings for the three consoles. Then sent the 360/p3 models to the texture dept while shipped the wii version.

neogeo7002d ago

its a $35 dollor game to make.
I have a bet with my friend that PS3 will over take wii by the end of next year, ti be honest I was starting to worrie into I saw this game
lol

ITR7002d ago

You'll end up losing that bet.

One game isn't going to break the Wii.

The Wii gains about 1 million gamers every month.
Sony would need a big pick me up for it to pass the Wii coming this X'mas.

midgard2297002d ago

yeah wii's gain a million gamers a month but release 1 good game a year lol

Why the Wii is Such a Nostalgic System in 2026

The Wii is now a retro console. Let’s get nostalgic about an often maligned system.

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Smellsforfree74d ago

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Loktai74d ago

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (1996) Still Feels Like Peak 90s Star Wars

This game along with Rogue Squadron got me into to Star Wars. The release of special edition VHS Star Wars collection was perfectly times on top of all that. 😆

Redgrave104d ago

Because it is.

Please re-release this.

SimpleSlave104d ago (Edited 104d ago )

But it wasn't. Although I do agree that some of the tie-in media, like the novels and comics, were pretty good.

Still, games like Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Rogue Squadron, and the space sims were peak 90s Star Wars. Shadows fell flat because of the abysmal controls and unimaginative levels. And if you wanted to really experience the seedy side of the universe, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 was peak, and it wasn't even close.

Regardless, and much to my dismay, we got the better version thanks to Ubislop in Outlaws, which is what Shadows should've been, albeit at a smaller scale.

As a kid me and my cousins loved this game . I have great memories with this one and the Star Wars pod racer game .
