Sony is taking over, it's incredible how fast it's happening.

Two years in the making since the last PS3 price cut.

The Empire Strikes Back... at $299. :P

Sounds awesome if done right!

Imagine something like Roller Coaster Tycoon, but where you manage zombies instead! Whicked! >:D

Hmmm I don't know about 2 years in the making, but it could be that they had the vision they just needed some time and this was the right time for a price cut and not TGS.

It is inevitable. They are the king and while they let the others have a lead for a spell, it is now Sony's turn to wake up, stretch their legs and get this party started. The giant is on the prowl.

No doubt about it that Sony will forever be the king. Hell, I still don't understand how a console with the best games and free online and one that offers blu-ray can be in last place. Or how developers can get away with sh*tty DS games.

I'm sure Sony won't let their appstore become a place where gamers demand games to be 99cents only...

Sarcasm6155d ago

Let's just hope they're good mini-games and not a bunch of useless shovelware.

And they need to be priced around .99c or $1.99 because seeing as how a lot of PSN games are already $4.99 with a ton more value.

Well, if you look at the quality of just the exclusive PSN titles, it's safe to assume that the PSP Mini's will have a similar standard set upon them.

I mean, it's one thing to boast a billion apps, but it means nothing if only a handful are actually worth it.

Sarcasm6155d ago

I'm aware of the quality exclusive PSN games, which is exactly my point. Those games had quality simply because they weren't constricted by traditional development. However, Sony played a hand in making sure the titles are up to quality.

So hopefully they treat these psp-mini's with the same respect as they do with PSN games. They need to filter out the trash before it even gets to the consumer.

My main concern on why I don't think all the titles might be good, is quite simply because we're talking about extremely low-budget development. There's tons and tons of crappy games on the iPhone, but of course there are some good ones.

Basically, my point is that they shouldn't even bother with the crappy ones and make sure the titles are worth our money even if it's $1-$5.

Christopher6155d ago

If it's games like Hero of Sparta, then they're not bad games. There are a good number of quality games on the iPhone, and it looks like those games are making their way to the PSP. Fieldrunners isn't my favorite tower defense game, but it's probably the best on the iPhone as well.
