Considering Heavenly Sword pretty much sucked I don't think 2010 is any bigger at all (aside from pushing out +1 mediocre game). The new game probably won't be Heavenly Sword 2 but it will definitely be a flop.

BulletToothtony6134d ago

what's the word i'm looking for..

Pennywise6134d ago

At least Ninji is sticking to it and not being a total hypocrite about it... All non PS3 owners screamed HS sucked... now this OP is saying 2010 just got bigger like he wasnt one of the haters.

ZuperAmazingCooKie6134d ago

That sounds like damage control. HS
was great, it was simply too short. I do not blame Sony for HS' performance though, as It was Ninja Theory that chose to make the game that way, so I find it ironic that they chose to go multi as they can only blame themselves. Maybe they want creative freedom
which is why they have chosen this path

2010 isnt getting any bigger?

techie6134d ago

Heavenly Sword was incredibly. Too short yes, but everything else was spot on. Still has the best facial animation and skin shaders in a game.

Marceles6134d ago

Heavenly Sword sucked? Probably the worst comment I'll hear today. You can say Lair and Haze sucked blah blah...but Heavenly Sword totally got robbed on its props. That was just blatant hatred just to hate on something.

Rythrine6134d ago

Yeah, I loved HS particularly the "Cannon" and "Kai segment" parts of it. Great diversity for the game.

Twing Twang :)

jack_burt0n6134d ago

HS is sony ip they own it lol

InfectedDK6134d ago (Edited 6134d ago )

I think they'll regret going multi.. If they haven't already.
Heavenly Sword was great and HS2 with trophies, some more levels, even better graphics, more great gameplay and what you could expect exclusively for the PS3 would have been much much bigger.. Now they probably have to prove something new among many many great games and it is multi..

With the PS3 install base at the time HS released and the birth of a new IP it was looking good in sales also.. A great start, with HS2 going to be even better.

It doesn't make sense that they did this.

FamilyGuy6134d ago

*haaaaahk too!*

Yeah, that's me spitting in your face and leaving.

Raoh6134d ago

sucked?

heavenly sword was one of my favorite games of this generation..

sony should have tried harder to keep ninja theory..

the game was short also do to the story being split cause it was originally supposed to be a triology..

sony owns the IP so i hope they dont actually need ninja theory to continue the series.

Montrealien6134d ago (Edited 6134d ago )

Pennywise said...

(All non PS3 owners screamed HS sucked)

These are the comments that make me laugh. I hope you understand that by All, you mean like 8 people that troll N4G. Sometimes I wonder if some of you understand that the world foes not revolve around N4G.

anyways, I wish Ninja Theory good luck on their new projects and I am happy that they will be able to reach a broder audience, HS was really a great game, even though it was pretty short.

NotSoSilentBob6134d ago

Ninji

You say Heavenly Sword sucked? You never played it. Yea the Ps3 was 600$ at that time but now its half the price and HS can be picked up for 20-25$ I suggest you go play it then say it sucks.

The story in it was Epic in scale and telling. The only down fall was the game could be beat in under 6hrs even on Hellish Difficulty. I'm glad 360 owners will get to experience a game from Ninja Theory as I feel they have the story telling ability of Kojima given time and their Learning curve.

JBaby3436134d ago (Edited 6134d ago )

A little short, yes, but a great game nonetheless. It's a shame it got hated on so much that this is what happened. I remember how rabid the media and fanboys were and HS just got drowned in hate for no reason.

Oh and yes, still the best facial capture and voice acting in a game thus far.

likedamaster6134d ago (Edited 6134d ago )

"I find it ironic that they chose to go multi as they can only blame themselves. Maybe they want creative freedom which is why they have chosen this path."

Ironic? Sounds like denial to me. That wasn't the only publisher that went under on the platform. I never played the full game but played the demo, I thought the visuals looked really good(at the time). Going exclusive on the ps3 was suicide for 3rd party devs at the time unless it was a sequal of a mega-seller IP. Flame me it doesn't matter, it's true. They're only doing what any smart 3rd party would do and go multiplatform. Especially if going multi involves the install base of the 360. Anyway, Godspeed to Ninja Theory more games = win for all gamers.

kaveti66166134d ago

If memory serves me right, Ninji is a PS3 fanboy.

Daver6134d ago

hmmm shut up?... he said HS sucked and you say Lair sucked...its more like you didnt like because both games in my opinion was great and Lair is still one of my favorite game

da720izcumin6134d ago

as sony sinks farther down 3rd place...you start seeing things like this, 2nd party developers turning multiplat and maybe even going 1st party for the competition.

I loved Heavenly Sword from start to finish. Extremely short, but well worth the money. Looking forward to seeing what Ninja theory will bring next.

Gamer_Politics6134d ago

i hope Ninja Theory have learned from their mistakes with Heavenly Sword and bring us something good

Fishy Fingers6134d ago (Edited 6134d ago )

Maybe you could be a little more specific. The only apparent mistake to me, was the length.

Gamer_Politics6134d ago

what about the option to block or jump?

cereal_killa6134d ago

Fishy Fingers since Gamer politics is a 360 fanboy he must be talking about sales of the game everything else about the game was great. Sure the length of the game was underwhelming but there's quite a few great games out there that the length was in question but everything else about it was spot on. this would be great if they release Heavenly Sword 2.

JBaby3436134d ago

You just had to match the attack position of the attacker. Did you even play the game?

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle37d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

PlayStation legend Shuhei Yoshida says Jim Ryan fired him because he didn't listen to him

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.

Relientk7746d ago

Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.

Cacabunga45d ago

It should be free highway for him now.. but Sony are too stupid to see this, especially that moron Hulst

S2Killinit45d ago (Edited 45d ago )

Wtf why all that anger. PlayStation is dominating on every level. Besides I think there is a little more to hiring a CEO than just who is available. Its not like its a athlete your team wants to buy.

neutralgamer199245d ago

S2Killinit

live service failures, chasing trends, closing studios. yes dominating

Cacabunga45d ago

Sony is Dominating because competition is not existing. Compared to previous gens this is the poorest in terms of software offerings.

Last gen we got Uncharted 4 Lost Legacy and TLOU2 from ND alone.

This is so far a remasters gen, with no competition to lift up the quality

1nsomniac45d ago (Edited 45d ago )

..."PlayStation is dominating on every level"....

...Really???

PlayStation are soon heading into a new generation in the not to distant future. They currently have the worst customer satisfaction they've ever sustained as a company. The company is heading for a huge crash while at the same time they'll need to be planning how they are going to try and win back that favour and the build up to their new releases.

Yes financially they're winning but they're going to have to ride out this complete public corporate disaster. No one has faith in the company or the product anymore. They've damaged their public image so much this generation. Greed can kill anyone.

medman45d ago

Hulst is a disaster......

He would've done the same thing and fire Jim Ryan and Shuhei would be the villain. Why?
Because Elite creates the narrative and distraction for gamers, users and citizens.

Outside_ofthe_Box45d ago

More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.

robtion45d ago

Yep. Yoshida was responsible for bringing one of the best games of this generation to playstation (Stellar Blade). He is an actual gamer and is in touch with what gamers want (creative, fun games, not GaaS and agenda pushing). He also seems like a genuinely nice guy if you watch some interviews. Of course they got rid of him.

darthv7245d ago

Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.

Agent7545d ago

Microflop. After Windows XP and Xbox 360, it all went floppy.

S2Killinit45d ago

Floppy 😆
No pun intended

badz14945d ago

Yoshida for President! Jim Ryan was and always be a hack! Sony should get Shu back

Lightning7745d ago

All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
