Dead Nation: new PS3 exclusive from Super Stardust devs

Joystiq: We'd feel sorry for the undead if they weren't constantly trying to eat our brains. Here's yet another game about taking out a horde, nay a nation, of zombies. Dead Nation is the next PlayStation Networkd-exclusive game from Housemarque, developers of popular twin-sticker, Super Stardust HD. While it reminds us of games like Burn, Zombie, Burn! and Zombie Apocalypse (two other zombie-themed PSN games), we're certain Housemarque will be able to do something unique with this title.

Fairly certain. Ish.

Blaster_Master6125d ago

This game is from the Housemarque team? Then its gotta be AAA. Day one purchase. It would be even better if it had coop im sure they will implement it.

Kamikaze1356125d ago

Hope this game comes out soon!

cranium6125d ago

I'd buy this game because of the music alone. God that music was awesome.

ThanatosDMC6125d ago

Sweet! I hope there's multiplayer!

ABizzel16125d ago

Games like these need 4 player co-op both on and offline (or at least 2 offline since you're more than likely sharing the same screen). Without it it's not going to have the mass appeal that it could.

But anywho it looks a lot like an HD version of that last gen game Hunter the Reckoning (I loved playing that game with friends). Matter of fact they need to make a new version of Hunter for the consoles or at least a PSN/XBLA version.

FamilyGuy6125d ago (Edited 6125d ago )

This games looks just as hectic as Super Star Dust HD too, with hordes of enemies surrounding you. It's very similar when you think about it, and im all but certain that there's co-op.

It actually looks like those gauntlet games from this top viwe perspective, actually all games looks similar that use this perspective..

callahan096125d ago

There is online and offline co-op. And this game is looking gorgeous!

That game looks interesting. $9.99 and I will buy it ;)

I hope it has coop.

morganfell6125d ago

Same here. I am after that. Aim for the Brain. Funny as hell.

Max Power6125d ago

I dunno why but it kind of reminded me of Smash TV

ThanatosDMC6125d ago

4-player co-op + defend the base + waves of zombies + hundreds of zombies on screen = awesomeness

It'd be awesome if that's what the game will be...

Timesplitter146126d ago

OH SNAP, SON

Looks awesome.

(please co-op)

RememberThe3576125d ago

Awesome is all that I could think as I watched it.

saint_john_paul_ii6126d ago

it looks awesome. it looks like left 4 dead but its a twin stick shooter, it looks awesome.

SuPa-MaRiO6126d ago

yes co-op man that would be awsome this game looks different and cool

Five PSN Games I Want on the Vita

"The scant library for the Playstation Vita is a sad truth. I bought my Vita within a month of when it launched, and played it quite a bit. Some stellar titles kickstarted that handheld’s birth and I enjoyed many of them. As the months went on, the releases simply stopped. Every once in a blue moon we got a new Vita release. Until I recently got Madden, my Vita had gone untouched (and uncharged) for months.

Luckily, the Playstation Network is host to many fantastic gems that would feel right at home on the Vita. Below, I list five games (in no particular order) I would love to see make the jump. This list includes variety of genres, and trust me, there were a lot more I had to scratch off."

core_55012d ago

burnout crash would be awesome for vita

TheMasterShake5011d ago

as far as PSN game go i wanna see journey on the vita. full fledged game i would love to see Fallout Vita or Dark Souls Vita

CalvinKlein5011d ago

I agree with journey, I think that would be great on the VITA.

I wsa really hoping that the VITA would get tons of PSN games and then we could have more that we can play on ps3 and vita, like sound shapes.

I think getting more ps3 psn games onto the VITA is the main area that Sony could improve on for the VITA games. I shouldnt be that hard for developers to get most of these game on the vita and I think that alot of the psn games would be a perfect fit for the VITA.

TheMasterShake5011d ago

there is alot of stuff that would be a perfect for vita like PS2 classics, i would love to play the PS2 shinobi on vita

Larry L5011d ago

Yeah, PSN games could be a HUGE coup for Vita.

Game's I'd LOVE to have on Vita would be

Magic Orbz and Shatter, IMO the two best brick-breakers ever
Castle Crashers
The Simpson's Arcade
X-Men Arcade
Before yesterday I would have said Zen Pinball and Marvel Pinball.....now I have both.....basically

A handfull of others too, but those would be my FAVS as of now.

napoleon10665011d ago

Journey would be a fantastic game on the vita.

Xof5011d ago

What, no Flower?

But, yeah, I agree. I wouldn't normally say that, but apparently three people have already 'disagreed.'

It strikes me as profoundly odd that even ONE gamer would be -against- the Vita getting more games, any games, let alone good, proven titles. The Vita is not doing well, people! It needs games!

All gamers should be in favor of games. Gamers who do not support games... are... Good God. Look at me: I don't even have the words to describe this kind of profound stupidity.

Mikelarry5009d ago

exactly what i thought flower on the vita would be whole anothe experience. i really hope they do it

jghvhv5011d ago (Edited 5011d ago )

Putting all the games you're gonna list in the Tags means people won't even bother clicking to read this.
@Disagrees
Fine,I was just trying to help.

Sobaer5011d ago

I see your point, but plenty of people have stopped by to read it. ;) (NOTE: I didn't disagree, just clarifying. :))

dragon825011d ago

I agree with every one of those.

dboyman5011d ago

Rainbow Moon, Journey and many others

Sobaer5011d ago

Rainbow Moon was one of the last games I crossed off my list to make it five. :(

Videogamer: Dead Nation Review

Videogamer: "Zombies have lumbered their way into every corner of our cosy little industry, saturating countless genres and franchises with their foul presence. What with Left 4 Dead 2, Dead Rising 2, Plants vs Zombies, Zombie Apocalypse, zombies in Red Dead and Black Ops, I found the animated cadavers were really starting to grind my gears. Then I started watching The Walking Dead, a new TV series based on a graphic novel of the same name, and my love was instantly rekindled. The timing was fortuitous, because PSN's Dead Nation is as generic as zombie outings get."

Looks like another fake review like the one posted by Gamereactor.

blackburn55671d ago

It doesn't matter what they say.I am already convinced. Just need to buy another PSN card.

hatchimatchi5671d ago

I agree. I couldn't give 2 craps what the reviews say. It's gonna be a fun game with 2 players. Plus, it's a friggin PSN game for 15 dollars, what do people expect? It's not going to be some mind blowing experience, it's about getting a high score.

Hexus: Dead Nation Impressions

Hexus writes: "Nestled among some of the big budget, blockbuster games at Sony’s PS3 Beta event last week was relative small-fry Dead Nation, a multi-directional arcade-style shooter from Housemarque, the creator of the brilliant and highly addictive Super Stardust HD."
