XBLA gets Asteroids, Missile Command and Tempest

Trio of retro titles cleared for arrival on the Xbox 360 download service - bring on the particle effects!

Three new retro titles heading to Xbox Live Arcade have emerged this morning thanks to the very useful ESRB website which has cleared them for arrival on Microsoft's box.

Asteroids, Missile Command and Tempest are all listed for the download service, the first being exciting because we can't wait to see what kind of particle effects can be shoe-horned in, the second because we were still hammering it in San Francisco bar at GDC and the third... well, is Tempest.

Obviously there's no word on pricing or release dates yet, but will let you know as soon as we get any concrete details.

Asteroids... AND Tempest? AND Missile Command?
Nice.

ENOUGHT WITH THESE B.S. ARCADE TITLES, GIVES US SOME REAL ARCADE TITLES. THESE GAMES ARENT GOOD ENOUGH FOR 400 AND 800 MS POINTS :/

But these games are classics. I know I spent more than my fare share of MS points worth of quarters back in the day.

Man I respect your opinion but I have to disagree. I played the hell out of all three when I was a kid and I'm very much looking forward to these, particularly missile command. Just out of curiosity, which games would you like to see come out for XBLA? Cheers!

People talks like XBLA is like the holy grail for the online gaming service, but seriously look at this. It just like any other PSN and Nintendo VC services. Is this what you xbot really proud at?? Get PS3 or Wii, that's another world out there you haven't tasted yet.

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
