Batman: AA Challenge Mode Hands-on

Koku Gamer writes: "While at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival this year, Koku Gamer did some Bat-like investigating into the Batman: Arkham Asylum Xbox 360 booths and discovered we could play Challenge Mode – a feature not available in the demo. There were three challenge rooms to play: Silent Knight, Sewer Bat (Extreme) and Intensive Treatment.

Challenge Mode pitches Batman against inmates in a number of timed rounds – there were four in the demo – which vary in difficulty. With no multiplayer in the game, it's vital that Challenge Mode keeps us swinging back to the Bat past the single player.

Another great reason to purchase this game, the demo sold me within the first 3 minutes.

Just a few more weeks left now! :)

Like the old Spiderman on the PS1, an absolutely fantastic game. Ill be getting this one, as soon as i get some money

Elven66040d ago

Superhero games back in the day were amazing, shame now a days a good superhero game is such a rarity. In hindsight some of those classics might not be so great, but at the time they were the best thing ever. You just don't get that feeling from games now.

Reibooi6040d ago

This is easily shaping up to be the best Superhero game ever made. The demo was great despite the fact that i don't like the style of batman they were using.

This is just icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

We shouldn't forget the old Spiderman games though...

WengYong6040d ago

Exactly Elven, those games were amazing back in the day, they were fresh and new. However to me I still think Spiderman on the PS1 is more fun than the later versions.

A HiFi6040d ago

I'd have to agree. I hadn't seen anything like Spiderman before at the time. It was fresh and, most certainly, fun.

WengYong6040d ago

Glad someone agrees with me, and AA looks to be a great addition to anyones game collection. Will definitely be picking it up

A HiFi6040d ago

I'm not going to be buying it soon, but I will probably pick it up budget.

@ Weng Wong,

Does it have a delayed date for Aussie?

It's looking good for the Bat!

Ziriux6040d ago

I've seen noting but great news when it comes to Batman: AA. I'm really happy the game has gone well, how many games do you see based of movies or even comics that are made with some thought to it, the last Wolverine game was amazing, and Batman is sure to top it off.

Reibooi6040d ago

Well that the really good comic based game that was really incredible was Hulk Ultimate Destruction. The game perfectly displayed what it was like to be the Hulk.

However by and large comic and movie based games suck royal buttocks.

A HiFi6040d ago

It's not that most of them are absolutely terrible, it's that we have so high expectations for them after seeing them on their intended medium. If it was made as a movie first, it's probably going to be better as a movie. Just like movies based on video games aren't all that. Exception to the rule is The Chronicles of Riddick.

Ziriux6040d ago

Yea sadly I never played any of the Hulk game to experience the greatness.

I really loved the demo. This is definitely a purchase for me.

A HiFi6040d ago

It does look good, but the game is clearly carrying a lot of hype. I'm not sure if it will live up to that hype. But it's clear it's definitely going to be, at least, a solid title. =)

Ziriux6040d ago

It's a batman game, I'm sure that it will. Look at The Force Unleashed sold 7 million copies thus far, mostly because it's a Star Wars based game.

A HiFi6040d ago

Yeah, but Force Unleashed was also a solid game. I'm talking the quality of the game. Just because it sold millions, didn't mean it was the best Star Wars game ever. I think Batman will be the same.

Funqy6040d ago

Sounds like a fun extra mode to compliment the game.

Ziriux6040d ago

Yea, I think they needed a extra thing to show at the event and did.

Jugg4n4ut6040d ago

ive gotten a chance to play this as well. this will be an amazing game
