It'll be better than COD4, but there's no way in hell it'll exceed the hype the way COD4 did. The perfect reviews it's going to get will help ruin it by making it out to be the coming of gaming jesus. I've been let down on a lot of games in this way, like Mass Effect and GTA4 (though ME is still one of my favorite games ever). I'd say MGS4 too, since my own hyping of that game reached stratospheric levels, but MGS4 somehow exceeded my expectations in every way, even after reading IGN's perfect 10 review.

can kiss my a$$. They won't be gettin another penny from me for a LONG LONG time. This game will be a Gamefly special, no more, no less. It may very well be a good game but in the end it is a CoD 4 with new models and maps. There are other FPS's coming out, MAG as an example, that will be expanding on the whole FPS idea. Then there is the one for the XBox 360, Huxley I think, which is more or less a console MMOFPS similar to SoE's Planetside in scale from what I have read.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault was awesome.
But Call of Duty was better. The sequel to that, Call of Duty, 2 was even better and Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was better than all of them. And now Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 will dip in quality compared to the last one?

Fact, games (in contrast to movies) rarely dip in quality compared to the earlier iteration.

I can´t really imagine Infinity Ward sitting lazily in their lazyboys.

I'm guessing it will be good and enjoyable. But I'm not gonna expect any HUGE improvement from the first game. I'm not gonna buy it new, but that doesn't mean I won't get it later, used of course.

I loved the first game, and I'm sure I'll feel the same way about this one too. It's just that I don't think it'll be the '2nd coming of christ' that many people make it out to be.

i ain't buying or renting Generic Warfare 2 i could barley stay awake during Generic Warfare 1 personally i'll buy Prototype and maybe X-Men Origins Wolverine after they drop the price after that i ain't buying anymore games from activision these guys are a bunch of uptight money grubbing @ssholes

I feel like once you play one, you've played them all, i have seen almost no change since number 2.

COD6 may be more of the same but it's still going to be a great game.

+ Updated graphics
+ Same multiplayer but with more customisation and perks
+ More story driven campaign
+ More interesting environments
+ More of those missions which are a little different

And the reason they can start the map packs now is becuase theyve probably employed a bigger team for this game, and the engine is already finished so theyve got much more time for the actual game.

Will it make COD4 look bad? No. Will it be a great fun game to play? Yes.

And those talking about how its generic. Personally I dont care. I love new experiences but at the end of the day if the gameplay is solid, and in COD4 it definately was, then it does not need to be completely different.

I dont get it, R6V, MAG, BF, all genberic but no one complains do they...

i think a lot of this activision hate is rubbing off unfairly on infinity ward. the stupid articles says how IW is "sitting in their comfy studio, thinking they’ve made the greatest game known to man and are silently thinking “We don’t need to put effort in. We’re just that damn good!" IW is always provided great games for gamers they've listened to gamers and have never rehashed COD games. they broke from the the norm of typical WW2 shooters to take a fresh modern take and created arguable the greatest online game ever.

i hate activision just as much as anyone but please don't hate IW they put a lot of work into the game

i know people who are going to buy this game because of what the first one was no matter what this one is like.

its not even full hd thats a big gripe
the game major assest is the multiplayer, md1 brought something new to the table what will this one bring
the one is over hyped
killzone is better
no vehicles
same game as before but with updates halo2 to halo3
the game will die off really fast.
their has already been 2 of these games out in the last 2 years.
if they made so much cash off of this game how come its not 1080 p 60 fps

Excited for MAG as well, but theres no denying that this game is going to be off the hook (hell I would buy it JUST for its singleplayer) It always has been a Day 1 buy for me (getting me the Hardened Edition)

All I know is my PS3 is going to be getting quite the work out this year!

Now believe me I hate unfair crap as much as the next gamer but boycotting this game isn't going to help. If you don't buy Infinity Ward is the only won who gets screwed, you know why. Because this year we already have another Guitar Hero coming out and we all know how much your baby sister or that "slow" child down the street loves to rock out so you can bet your money that the game will sell en mass.

So in the end who gets shut down, well not Activision that is for damn sure because you were so blinded by a Logo(Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero,Movie Licensed Game) That you went out and gave them millions. Depriving a company like Activision of one million when they're just going to make twelve just makes you out to look like the sore sport.

But about the article it sucked, that's all.

The writer kept on saying MW2 will not be as good as the original MW but failed to give specific reasons.

Personally i don't think that much of CoD MW anyway, i think the only reason its played by such huge numbers is because its a relatively easy game to play, and it doesn't take much to be good.

That being said, i don't usually write off a game until i've played it, so i'll pick it up and give it a shot. Hopefully, it will be good :)
