Xbox 360 has the best versions of multiplatforms which makes up 99% of you gaming library.Also Forza 3, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, Mass Effect 2, Gears of War 3 and I bet Halo: Reach don't look too shabby either.

and kudos to MS. The wii it seems is slowing down. Last year it was 555k this year its half. PS3 is the same with about 40% drop from 225k to 125k. The only difference though is the wii and PS3 is the same price from last year.

I do wonder now if the wii could ever reach the PS2 numbers. I actually wonder if any other console could ever reach it.

All I think GTAIV has over SR2 is graphics and story(by far). SR2 will be a lot more fun gameplay wise.

GTAIV story missions were pretty boring, except for a few, took me 23 hours to beat. There also weren't military in the game anymore Way less cheats than previous games (No riot mode, WTF!). Less weapons

I guess the spin will start or excuses, whichever comes for from the PS3 only owners that complain about numbers.

First it will be the famous just wait until (inserts slim) (inserts price drop) (inserts only 1 PS3 exclusive at a time based on release date) All this while the 360 sees a year on year increase and the PS3 sees a 40% drop from last year. I love my triple owner status. PC, PS3, and 360 FTW. Have fun. Oh yeah....."AND....HERE WE........GO!!!

1. Wow Nintendo! Even with the drop in Wii sales, they still dominated software sales. Amazing numbers for Wii Sports Resort, considering it launched July 27th. VERY impressive for just a few days.

2. 360 only 50K behind the Wii? Really? That's both a sign of the 360's sales stability this year and the decline of the Wii from last year's numbers. 360 keeps it up, slow and steady.

3. NCAA Football did well, as always. I expect Madden to top the charts next month.

4. I guess Infamous tailed off after two months in the top ten. Oh well. Hopefully sales will stay solid for a while. PS3 fans owe it to themselves to buy it.

5. EA Active still in the top 10. Having used it a few times, I can say that it's definitely a good workout and worth the money...but a trip to the gym is still better. Kudos to EA, though, for branching out a bit.

6. Will people hold off on 360 and PS3 purchases this month, given the likelihood of price cuts and new models coming soon? We'll see.

The problem is people wont admit when something sucks. Its a form of denial. they wanna think they have the best game that was ever made. What they need to realize is that GTA is old. They arent giving people what they want, they're giving people what the creators want you to have. Honestly all i can see they did is give GTA and graphics upgrade, a mediocre story we've seen 100 times in older titles. The same missions and nothing new. Atleast GTA:SA was new. SR1 didnt reinvent the wheel it gave us what we loved about the genre and what we wanted. They made the game more personal, they didnt say here is nico bellic and his story, they said here is YOUR story. Then they gave us a much livelier place to play in. Hell i played SR1 for months and occasionally go back to it from time to time.

look its no contest, SR2 will be more fun than GTA 4,'FUN' is the keyword there, but none the less GTA iv its still a great game, graphically, sound-wise, story e.t.c, the only thing is SR2 is going to give a real gamer, much much more fun, unquestionably, lets contest features shall we:

If ms can use their holiday lineup to surpass the wii. Forza 3, halo 3 odst, mw2 and maybe natal can push the sales past that of the wii for the second time since launch. Specially if they push past holiday gaming up too with ME2, alan wake and sc:conviction.

I wanna see what all these rumored price-cuts and such will do for the holiday season. It's gonna be big.

Looks like the 360 is in pretty good shape. Obviously the Wii is on the decline, but then again, it had nowhere to go but down. And selling 500K of Wii Sports Resort in a week obviously helps.

The Ps3 is obviously in a not so great position, with months straight of negative YoY growth, when it needs the exact opposite. But its still alive and kicking.

But one has to look beyond the numbers and understand the $$$ behind them. The Wii which has high SW and HW sales, also has cheaper games, and makes much less revenue online than the 360 (and I would think the PS3 as well). The 360 sells 3 SKU's, which get more profitable for them as you go up.

Sony still loses $ on every system sold. And if anyone still doesnt think those recent articles which claim that the PS3 brings in more $ for EA than the 360 does are false, just look at the sales for EA games this month on each respective platform. Sony definitely needs to shake things up in a major way this year, and soon if they want to retain any hope of catching up.

As for any anticipation of price drops or slim systems affecting sales, thats also false. 95% of people who buy and play games dont keep up with the blogs and what not, and arent going to simply wait on a price cut that may or may not happen.

ps3 slim where are you? Everyone is chillin; waiting for sony's new sku no surprise. Wow at nintendo software sales----------crazy.

Nice to see the Wii coming back down to earth sales wise. I mean the Wii is a pretty cool little machine. But I want the fad to die away already, I'm so sick of hearing about it. People buy it because it's the "it" thing like an Ipod. I have nothing against the Wii or people who enjoy it, I play it sometimes and like it as well. I just don't want the market to turn to casual gaming. I NEED games like Gears, God Of war, Uncharted, Halo etc...

this is only usa granted, but seeing as its over 40% of the worlds market its by far the most important nation with regards sales.anyway the ps3 outsells 360 in JAPAN about 15,000/20,000 a month compare this to MS outselling SONY 90,000 every month in the us and you can see why they will never recapture their position as market leaders.a price cut/slim will NOT save sony as suggested by some, as once you add the "real" price of a 360 together(wireless/live) there is not much difference in price.
