ArmA II Expansion Announced

Bohemia Interactive have announced that development is underway on the first expansion pack for critically acclaimed FPS ARMA II. Entitled Operation Arrowhead, it will be a standalone expansion pack focusing on an Asian campaign, and should be shown off to the public at Gamescom next week.

i thought this was agent info for a second

Like this expansion will make it a bit more like ARMA 1, mission wise. I only kinda liked 2. I thought it would be more like a small soldier in a big conflict like the first was but it's basically all about small scale Marine Recon missions. I was slightly disappointed, hopefully the expansion will be more like it's predecessor in that respect.

Finishing the actual game and getting rid of all the bugs before whoring an expansion out?

Jesus, this game is one of the buggiest of all time and is still virtually unplayable. Announcing an expansion now is ridiculous

paul03886123d ago

Because if you have, you would know it's nowhere near the "buggiest game of all time". I have it for Steam and it's not as bad as people say. If you haven't played it there's no reason to comment negatively on it.

Have you played Socom: Confrontation around it's release date, now that was the buggiest game of all time. Let's not forget Gears 2 multiplayer before it was patched.

sovietsoldier6123d ago

frozzzen is right about most except it being the buggiest game of all time. i have had problems since day one and i owned ofp and all expansions and armed assault before arma2 and arma2 is not the buggiest game of all time but by now you would think they would learn how to make un-buggy game! i feel they should fix before they go adding more to make sh!t even worse!

Fr0ZzZeN6123d ago

Of course I have played it.... And its buggy as hell. Buggiest game ever was an overstatement obviously but its not far from it. Not just that the performance sucks complete ass.

My pc runs crysis at max with no problems and a steady FPS. On Arma it flys up, comes crashing down and has no consistency.

In my opinion they should fix the actual game people payed good money for. But aparantly that would be too much to ask for and instead they'll just release another buggy mess to an already crippled game.

My PC Specs are below:

Q6600 @ 2.4 ghz
4 GB DDR2 PC2 5300
Radeon 4890 1GB

Those are it's main specs, and it runs Crysis beautifully. Arma 2 on the other hand really kicks its ass.

Now that you reasoned out your comment 100%, I can't help but agree with you. There are parts that my framerate chopped up so much it was unbelievable. For some reasons, traversing wooded terrain does not lag me up, but the second I get into any bigger city it hitches quite a bit.

Is this also where you had problems?

evrfighter6123d ago

The game is extremely unoptimized. I'm actually surprised they're announcing an expansion already. They aren't a big company so I guess that means I'm not buying an expansion until this game actually pushes quad cores...

my phenom II @ 3.6ghz peaks at 50-75% usage and only around 1.5gb of ram used...The kicker is my frames are at around 35 average. That's just downright horrible optimization.

Top 7 Hardest Video Games

From rogue-likes to the newer Souls series, there's a solid subsection of games that are purposefully difficult to a mind-boggling, controller-throwing degree. In recent months we've of course received Dark Souls III, but that's not the only new game that will test your perseverance and punish you for making the slightest mistake.

5 Times Games Were Mistaken For Real Life

Nissan USA’s Twitter account goofed up by believing that a couple of screenshots from (the admittedly gorgeous) Driveclub were real-life photographs. And although their tweet was a cover for their own mistake, it is also partially the truth: video games have been getting increasingly realistic. There have been quite a few other instances of games being mistaken for real life content, in some rather more serious situations. So in this list, we take a look at some of the few times games were mistaken for real life.

I remember the Assassin's Creed one

you can see the viewpoints lol

KingKevo3971d ago

What I love more than the viewpoints are all the hiding spots on the buildings. All the same and too many of them. Looks kinda weird, but apparently not suspicious enough.
