lol. The PC version of every game is pretty much superior to the console version.
People can disagree all they want, but as long as they know they are disagreeing b/c they cant stand the truth, and not b/c they have a valid counter-point. :)

Enate6142d ago

The PC version is typically only slightly better an maybe a little more so provided you actually have the hardware to run it in the first place. I have a nice rig but I'm still gonna play Batman on my PS3. I enjoyed the demo on my PS3 an I'm sure I won't die if my resolution isn't over 9000.

masterg6142d ago

@Arthur

Sure PC's can get better graphics (if you have a great PC)
But we still havent seen games on PC looking as good as Uncharted 2.
I have played Crysis on the highest settings and I still say KZ2 looks better.

The controls on anything but FPS are aweful. I tried Phototype resently. My god it's brutal. The controls ruined the game.

Panthers6142d ago

I hate FPS controls on PC too. The only thing I like to play on PC is RTS games.

yesah6142d ago (Edited 6142d ago )

its true pc's can achive higher graphical settings then consoles, and have the advantage of tons of mods for the game.

But i still find it more enjoyable to play games on my ps3. Its just something about it could be; the controller, freinds list, the envoirnment which i play, its just something about it thats better.

and i know u can have freinds lists and the controller on PC, but idk its just diffrent.

But a good PC could definatly out do ps3 in graphics and loadtimes easily

Voozi6142d ago (Edited 6142d ago )

So you think RTS games are better on a controller? If so hope you enjoy your lack of microing then which is essential in RTS play lol

As for other games such as fighters, action, rpgs, etc. Well you know...PC's do support controllers, it's not like you're bound to just a keyboard and mouse...hell you can even use your PS3 or 360 controller on your PC if you wanted too.

Arthur_6142d ago (Edited 6142d ago )

I said VALID counter-points, not stubborn, fanboy babble.

Sure you have to have a nice computer, but PCs are getting cheaper and cheaper, and if you have one already, upgrading your video card is a really inexpensive fix.

You can use a 360 controller for your PC games. I dont know about PS3. Someone should totally google it and find out. :)

This isnt about PC vs Console gaming---b/c they are 2 different realms, so dont try to relate them. This is about PC versions of games LOOKING better than their console counterparts.

Uncharted 2? Seriously. Sit down. You've been out in the Sony Sun for too long. Here, drink this nice cold glass of REALITY.

Hobadoon6142d ago (Edited 6142d ago )

Uncharted 2 does look amazing graphically and will be a day one for sure but to say we haven't seen anything on PC that looks as good as UC2 is stuuuuuuupid...

Arthur, put a straw in their drinks to help'm get it down a little easier. Free refills are available as well.

OT: I can't wait for Batman to come out. I've played through the demo a few times already to calm my fix. And I'm not gonna lie, that high-res image of Bats looks awesome. Bout time comicbok fans get better comicbook video games. Even Marvel's UA2 got a graphic boost. I know it's not anything on this scale but damnit, it's still welcomed haha.

And not to mention DC Universe and Champions Online are on the way. It's gonna be a good time for comicbook fans.

raztad6142d ago (Edited 6142d ago )

Come on Arthur. Tell us which your point is. High PC hardware more powerful than consoles?. Yeah of course they are, well not if you got a 2006 PC but a new relatively expensive rig outperforms consoles. However, that is to be expected, dont you think?

In any case, console gamers get MOST PC games, but a PC only guy is seriously missing out. UC2 is definitely a looker and you CANT run it in the most powerful PC. GT5, Forza3, KZ2, Gears2 and many more games are just available on consoles. Does it matter how powerful your rig is when the games you want to play are on consoles?

I would love me some batman:AA on PC but mine just can run it up to consoles quality (720p, no physx, and medium settings) so I rather to play it on my PS3.

xjxdoggggy6142d ago

the same video card i own..the Geforce GTX 295 ...what a beast :)

Rofl, just stop, right there.

I'm absolutely blown away by Uncharted 2, but anyone with common sense will tell you that a PC has more capabilities than any console, and always will, unless the console allows you to actually change its hardware.

Myze6142d ago

The part that annoys me is that every time someone says PC hasn't outdone KZ2, UC2, GT5, etc. the only game people comment on is Crysis. Crysis is the best looking game available in terms of realism, but no other PC game reaches that level. Sure, resolution and AA on PC games is higher, but that does NOT mean they look better. Again, Crysis is the only game able to match up (and pass) to the console's best (although it has zero artistic value and is an average FPS apart from graphics).

Nikuma6142d ago

PC = FPS, MMO, and RTS

Console = Pretty much any other type of game.

Some games just play better with M/KB and some are more comfortable(for me) with a controller. Having superior graphics on the PC depends on your rig and honestly while having the best graphics possible is nice, it isn't a HUGE deal IMO. I have a GTX 285 and can run pretty much anything full on, but I would still get Batman: AA on the PS3 over the PC.

Yes I know you can get a game pad for PC but every single one I've ever used I hated. :P

100% ingame, 100%real time 100% not crysis :D

Only possible on the pc :D

have a nice day :D

If you knew how big the maps are in this game you would understand why the PC makes console gaming its b*tch.

This game is nowhere near optimized sadly. But as they continue to patch it...It's only going to perform that much better and faster.

@Nikuma

Your aware you can use a ps2, ps3, or 360 controller on the pc right? I myself use a 360 controller for my non fps games.

Myze6141d ago

@evrfighter

I've played ArmA 2 actually and really enjoy it, and yes the amount going on and the size of the game is almost assuredly not able to be replicated on any console (although MAG looks like it will have just as much going on, but probably not as big of maps or effects), however, if your comment was directed at me, I clearly stated I was referring to graphics, and ArmA 2 is not a graphical powerhouse by any means. Not to take anything away technically from it, but just because it has 5000 things going on at once doesn't mean it's more visually appealing than other games with far more detailed graphics. You can't compare a game like this that trades graphical detail for size and scope to something like KZ2, which is far more linear, but far more detailed.

evrfighter6141d ago (Edited 6141d ago )

Part of it was directed at you thats true but mainly for console gamers that really do not know that games like this exist (warhawk for example is a pc battlefield clone but not many console gamers know about the legendary franchise that is battlefied). Arma 2 is not a visually unappealing game like your making it out to be. Not many people are able to visually max out Arma 2 (If we're talking view distance slider).

One reason being the game is poorly optimized. It fails to take full advantage of 4gb of ram and quad core. Even on my quad core it only seems to peak at around 50% cpu power used while putting out sub-par (35ish) frame rates.

mebob6141d ago

Saying that UC2 graphics is better then any PC graphics is purely opinion base. While the other way around has facts involved. (because of resolution, texture, AA etc.....)

@raztad

i usualy expect this kind of mindset from a 360 fanboy, a pc nowadays would only cost the same as a ps3 or elite (for a decent one) and it will totally cream both in terms of graphics and game play.

And ARMA 2 actually looks really nice on my rig, even with the sheer size of the map.

... It;s not like we have monitors or TV's that will be able to display that.
FullHD for the coming years is all that matters (1080p), and TBH, even 720p still looks stunning enough.

Maybe ina few years when we will all have OLED tv's, this would be interesting, but for now... -shrugs shoulders-... 'mehhhh'.

FamilyGuy6142d ago

There are monitors that DO support that resolution but as far as it being useful or having a point, maybe there are some projectors that could benefit from the size?

Imagine playing batman in super wide screen on a long wall in your house, it'd be pretty cool to show off.

STONEY46142d ago

Blah, to me 720p is blurry as hell, I'm too used to gaming at 1900x1200.

Blackfrican6142d ago

On my screen, 16x9, batman is waaay too far left. I cannot walk through a doorway without having either my character or camera going straight into the wall. I cannot imagine how excessively left he would be in that perspective.

mebob6141d ago

playing at those kind of resolution you wont need any AA, i've seen games in 1080p and 720p...just dosent look as impressive as the res i play as on my computer.

Madis0076142d ago

For PC games 720p looks bad.

1080p is already very nice.

Well...
Xbox 360 - Gears of War 2 (100% full Xbox 360 power)(720p native)
Killzone 2 - 60% Playstation 3 power(1080i native)
God of War 3 - God of War 3 (1080p native and 60fps)
This means maybe PS3 can even run this but Xbox 360 never ah !!!

HDgamer6142d ago

It's not 60% of ps3 power just like gears isn't 100% of the 360's power. Thats just a lot of ignorance and misinformation you're spreading.

-MD-6142d ago

I love these made up numbers they spread around.

ShabzS6142d ago (Edited 6142d ago )

kz2 runs on 720p even gg said that it was meant to be played on that resolution

and gears 2 runs on the unreal engine and since unreal engine is a middleware engine designed to run on current gen consoles and pc ... it can run on any system ... except the wii ofcourse ...

100% of console power is a little far fetched coming even from the developers mouth who are trying to showoff their first game using the unreal engine 3 to the industry...

dont know about god of war 3 resolution some say its 720 some say its 1080...

ipe6142d ago

about 500$.And what screen u need just for 2560x1600?

AzraelGauss6142d ago

30 inch displays for 2560 x 1600 and TripleHead2Go setup with three 20 to 24 inch displays for 5040 x 1050.

jkhan6142d ago

I ran it on 1920x1080 at 60fps, with all settings to maximum on Dual GTX295 SLI on my 46" Samsung tv, it is one gorgeous looking game.

FragMnTagM6142d ago

Even on the consoles it is a beauty, but on the 5040 x 1050 screenshot, it looks insane.
