what mug is going to pay £49.99 RRP for tekken 6?

i will definitely get this game but this RRP does seem a tad high.

oh dear.. i am going to spend a lot of money of games in the coming months..

Thats just RRP it won't be that price anywhere you can count on that. At least its not Activisions "Premium" Price.

yeah games won't sale for rrp. you can even get mw2 at 35 pounds at http://direct.tesco.com/q/R...

most retailers never sell for RRP and as far as i know £49 has always been the official RRP since this gen started ( although i could be wrong )

So most games would be £49 RRP and then retailers would say your getting 5 - 10% off so the price would go down to say £39 or £35 which is what we are all use to ( check sites like play.com and Amazon )...

The problem with what activision is trying to do is this, buy saying the RRP is now £55 it means when those sites sell the game for 5-10% less it will now be £49 or £45 instead. if people accept this as the new price point other publishers will follow and make the same jump. before you know it all games will be £49-45 standard. if you ask me thats pushing it just a little too far for what 99% of the games we play are really worth.

When Modern Warfare 2 launches Most places wont " ACTUALLY " sell it for £55 but thats not the point of this little stunt by Activision. Either way it will still be an increase. As far as i know Tesco are still taking pre-orders for MW2 at the old RRP of £49 ( so they are selling it for £39 xbox360 version) - still i am not buying it myself no matter what price or sale any retailer is doing it for. Not a penny of my money is going to activision anymore. If i do buy it, it will be pre-owned and it will be a good 2 or 3 months after release.

Looking forward to this. I'll more than likely delete Tekken 5 from my PS3 HDD when I get my copy.
