Thats bad, Bionic Commando is a great game i hate to see the people behind it go out of work.

DaTruth6134d ago (Edited 6134d ago )

That was actually a good game? I bought the re-make out of pure nostalgia, the original was the best NES game tied with Ninja Gaiden! Surprised they didn't make some good coin off the remake alone!

Maybe I'll give it a rent!

gauntletpython6134d ago

sucks, but they really over extended themselves, working on 3 games in the same time period. Most devs struggle pushing out one game a year, let alone 3 in 3-4 months.

jack_burt0n6134d ago

Wow thats shocking, sony need to step in and and pickup a swedish studio.

They were a talented bunch so i am sure they will get picked up by someone.

Bionic Commando selling 30k copies combined in its first month is such an insult to a decent game, problem was the movie tie ins people have wised up and no kids buying them either.

Elven66134d ago

I think it was more the publishers fault, I didn't see any advertising for Bionic Commando.

Regardless, I hope this isn't true, they are all talented and growing fast.

El_Colombiano6134d ago

Honestly, I had no idea the game was released up until now. Blame the publishers.

Wonder where all the articles proclaiming that multiplatforms are not where the money is? Oh, ya, that's right, they only pull those out when Playstation exclusives don't do well, err... don't sell 2 million in a week!

Not like Capcom has been close to being a solid PS3 supporter.

.. But you know lets be honest Terminator: Salvation was not that great, nor was Wanted, if you think about it, they got a raw deal developing 2 Hollywood movies into games back2back, and we all know how this industry loves Hollywood movies being made into games.
Judging from the quality of the games it seems as if the developers were rushed to get the games out around the same time the movies launched.
Any how sorry to see them go, they had a lot of potential and hopefully they get a chance to redeem themselves, good luck to all who lost their job.

i actually thought wanted was good... would have made a killing as a $20 PSN/XBLA game.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle28d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Smellsforfree34d ago

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.
