Dropping the price of the current models of the PS3 to 299 and then selling the slim @ 399 made absolutely no sense to me.

If I were to guess how it's going down it would be...

1. Announcement of PS3 price cut to 299 @ Gamescom
2. Announcement of PS3 slim at a 299 price point @ TGS.

Leaks aren't a weakness you dumbass and it's made me more exited about the PS3 slim and i'll probably end up buying one thanks to these leaks.

And air1 it's not too early, Sony now have the technology to make it smaller so why waste money in making bigger components and wasting more plastic when there's the option of making smaller components having better results then the original product.

Sony will make a profit with the PS3 Slim. You seriously don't know how well the PS2 Slim sold do you? Where I live they were going out of stock every week for about 1 year and that shows the potential of a slim console.

And no, the PS2 Slim was released in its 4th year but since then technology has advanced so the PS3 Slim will be launching in its 3rd year even though the components in the PS3 look much more challenging to slim down. I wouldn't be surprised if Sony launched a Slim PS4 right out the door instead of going through the fat then Slim process.

I got a ps3 already. The slim is just for the ps2 users who defected to the 360 until the ps3 had a decent price point.

I've worked for Micromania and all i can say is that this interface is purely legit. Unless a Micromania vendor made a printscreen of his workstation, then faked it at home then made a photo of it (which is still probable), that means PS3 Slim really exists.

But Sony should seriously launch an anti-spyware scan in its employees, they have the worst secrets ever kept. It is sad to know weeks before something that has not been announced.

Could You please tell how using Bluetooth 2.0 as a means of wireless connection is copying the crappy Inferred wireless 360 controllers with tech that's been around for many many years (Inferred that is). Sony went with the new means of connection so technically it's not copying MS and wireless controllers would be a natural move and these Major companies obviously study their consumer base before they design a product.

Oh by the way having an online service such as PSN or XBL is a natural move that any company would make in today's world so it's not copying because then it's like saying MS copied the iTunes service because technically it's still a service for the Apple products which the Apple fans use.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
