To answer your question I think those are pre rendered cutscenes using ingame assets. They look better than gameplay by a long shot. I dont know why eurogamer.pt is using those to make comparisons. It doesnt make sense, show us some gameplay pics please.

I'm toying with the idea of getting the PC version instead of PS3's, its just cheaper and my laptop needs a good game to run on :D

See, that's the problem with screen shots. They often don't show you if one has better anti-aliasing or a better frame rate. Sometimes games look really close in screen shots and then I go compare the games on my own tv and I notice pretty big differences. I have both consoles and I just like to get the best version for my hard earned cash.

I've been making some test of both the PC version plugged through HDMI to my 1080p capable TV, and the PS3 version (HDMI same TV). They look quite similar when PC is running at 1280x720 60Hz (720p) with settings on high. If I increase PC resolution to 1900x1080 60Hz (1080p) game looks quite more sharp, and aliasing is almost non existent even when downgrading the settings into low-to-medium range. At 1080p the PC version framerate takes a serious hit, need a more powerful Pc :D.

I didn't even notice the UE3's trademarked frequent texture pop-in, and that even shows in UE3 games made by Epic themselves.

What it is is that the 360 version is more contrasty, ie. blacks are blacker, whites are whiter. So you guys are both right in a sense.

Mooey, I will admit that the Joker level gives the PS3 version the edge. But it doesn't mean that the PS3 version LOOKS better graphically.

Like most comparisons we've seen, the 360 version looks a little crisper while the PS3 version is slightly more blurry. Like in the very first picture for example, if you looks at the vest that the old man is wearing, you'll see more detail in the fabric on the 360 version.

For that reason, I think the 360 has the ever so slight edge visually, but that's being nitpicky. They look pretty much identical.

In the distance there is a very very slight difference in texture. Ever so slightly sharper on the 360. But it's nothing notable. It's not something that you will ever notice when you play, and it shouldn't be a determining factor of which version to buy.

If they look pretty much identical ill get the one on ps3 with the joker.

Other than the lighting they pretty much look the exact same.

All my multiplats go to my 360 so that's what I'll be playing this on.

So, despite the fact that they look identical and the ps3 version contains extra content, you'll still buy it on the 360? If that isn't fanboyism then I don't know what is.

As for the Graphics of this Batman game, please stop wearing the green glasses and take another look. the game looks the %100 the same on both platforms.

Why do people always say that about Burnout? The game was one of the few games that was truly nearly identical on both platforms. In the eurogamer comparison they said:
"Put simply, this is the first truly 'next-gen' game that truly is 99.9 percent identical across both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; the first title I've looked at for these features that raises the bar technically on both formats, offering the complete, full-fat experience, nothing added, nothing taken away."

I have been on this hmm for a long time and people seem to count the Pixels on every bit of these Multi-format games(and everytime the ChatBots claim(because some ChatBot site says so)that their version is better) It's just a way of the internet and the ChatBots trying to keep people thinking the PS3 is worse but it's not;)

I can't imagine how bad it would be blown up on my 50 inch HDTV. It's getting really pathetic how 3rd parties won't put any effort into making their games shine on the PS3. They just port over from the 360 and if the game is optimized close enough to the 360 version then the're happy. The PS3 versions have the potential to look much better than the 360 version, if they're developed by a studio that's willing to take some pride in their work.

That's the thing that always bothers me about screenshot-only comparisons. Screenshots don't tell the whole story. They don't tell you how the game performs, only how it looks in a static shot. And if there is a difference in a screenshot, the difference is usually much bigger when the image is blown up to the size of a large HDTV (or even a smaller HDTV). The slight blurriness we see in the PS3 shots I can guarantee will be much more noticeable at full size and resolution on my HDTV.

I'm downloading the PS3 version as we speak, so we'll see. This was one of the few multiplat games I was considering getting for my PS3, but if it looks noticeably softer I think I will go with the 360 version.

Its the Sony side that started the whole, my console is superior thing.

I own both and know from experience what both machines can do. well, to be honest I have owned multiple 360's (replacements) and only one PS3.

I noticed in the options menu there was an option for motion controls. It's off by default and when I turned it on I didn't notice anything different. Not really sure if that is for SixAxis or not.

I turned it on the menu and from my experience all it does is maneuver Batman's gliding try it for yourself

Epic created a version of the Unreal Engine for the PS3 from the ground up when they made Unreal Tournament. Remember Dead Space.

Dead Space wasn't UE3. Cliff Blazinsky made that same mistake. I actually prefer the Dead Space engine.

Epic showed MS what the engine looked like running on the original 360 design specs and told them that if they increased the memory it would look like a second example they showed. Microsoft liked the 2nd more detailed version and spent a ton to increase the spec on the 360 because of the UE3. But from the looks of things Epic doesn't want to lose money because they have an engine that didn't perform well on PS3 at first. They obviously want other 3rd parties to continue to pay for the engine for multiplatform games and from the looks of things have focused on PS3 finally. Either that or Rocksteady did the work because there really isn't a difference here.

Uhm, yes it has, if you look at the pictures you'll see the 360 version isn't that tad blurry as the PS3 version shows.

In 98% of all multiplats its like this, so the 360 version has a graphical supiority over the PS3. And worst thing for PS3 is it costs double the 360 and does less. That must hurt. Even if it would be on par, it should hurt. As a double the price machine should be double as good in the end result. It clearly isn't, the PS3 fails.

Quincunx anti-aliasing does blur texture detail...this is a well known fact...also, a lot of times the PS3 version does have less contrast and looks more washed out...so I wouldn't blame it on Lens of Truth.

The lens of truth screenshots always make it look like they turned the brightness and contrast way up for the ps3 version to make them look washed out.

I check their comparisons before buying and I think its a really helpful site, but come on..something fishy is goin on over there.

Yeah man, I love the 360 controller...it's the best controller ever created in my opinion.

To be honest we can all find are most favored controller, personally the Xbox controller feels more comfortable in a sense, the ps3 controller has symmetrical layout which i like. all together i think that they both suit there customers to a satisfactory standard, delivering quick responsive commands to the game but on the hole this subject is mostly based on opinion which can and should be shared with consideration, we must all respect each overs opinion.
