Bethesda is competition?

Isn't their crappy game somehow considered an RPG? Or an RPG shooter? Or whatever?

It's on the same low level as Halo. Modern Warfare 2, however, is the successor of a great game although both games combined can only dream about being as glorious as Killzone 2.

MW2 has reached a level which most people call over hyped.

...call of duty first person shooter game? ...shesh...gamer's taste in games suck nowadays.

However,watching the modernization of warfare crush everything around it isn't my idea of 'awesome' considering games like Demons Souls,Borderlands,UC2 release near it and are far more artistic,innovative games that could be casualties of this 'war'.
Or,the modernization of warfare will burn 'hard and fast' leaving room for other titles to flourish.That would be ideal but unlikely?...... assuming it goes as foreseen.

Just because first one was good doesn't make MW2 all that. I think we should all wait and play it...IW should really get out of this sh1t publisher.

well, props to the guy for at least being honest and giving credit to a game that may very well be awesome.

At the moment the real issue is not " will Modern Warfare be successful or blow the competition away " its if gamers are going to put up with the price hike and the level of insult they are throwing at us.

I love cod4 played it solid for the last 2 years, but even i don't think their price hike is justified and even if it is because MW2 is an exceptional game..when other publishers see that people are willing to spend that much on a regular copy, they will follow.

At the moment the only thing MW2 has blown away is its self ... all the way to next year and a pre-owned copy because not a penny of my money is going to activision.

If MW2 turns out to be a huge success,it can also mean a disaster to the whole FPS industry where there is no point for innovation or quality anymore coz all people want is the same game over and over again.It's sad that other FPSs,such as BF:BC and MAG,which are trying so hard to offer something special,have little to no place in the industry.

Maybe in sales but if we are going by gameplay it will be lagging behind other contemporary shooters.

at least he isnt stubborn like kotick..but thats just me...too bad im not buying this cause im not good at FPS games (sucked at W@W demo)and i will jus get uncharted and be happy

IW to actually support the community this time around. They released only 1 map pack for MW1 like a year+ ago?! At least Treyarch's WaW gets some support and map packs every couple months.

In the end, ill end up picking up MW2

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
