Sad part is that it was well known how cruddy the 360 was made. Heck even internal MS documentation said the hardware was not reliable and people still support MS cause they pay for games.

Ok, So Christmas 2 years ago. Well would have been a year and a half ago from now i guess, I bought an Xbox 360 Mid December, around my bday. It busted by the 20th. Discs were griding while in the disc drive. Little over a week, this system was the elite. Took it back to the Store traded in for another Xbox Elite System, came home plugged it in, and turned it on, it FLASHED with the RROD! Ok, so I was pissed. Took back the Elite, figured i would get the pro System, with the smaller hard drive, came home plugged it in played about 20 minutes, and the disc drive went out and would not read disc anymore!! AWESOME! So this was my Third One. FINALLY took this one back to walmart who was Pretty pissed at me and was trying to get me to send it to Microsoft and i Explained to them they wouldn't even send me the BRAND NEW system i just bought back to me, they would send me one that they had already fixed. So they took it back. I Got the arcade version this time, bought a 120 gb HD. Got it home, WOULD NOT READ DISC... SO I WAS SUPER PISSED and I STARTED HITTING THE XBOX ON THE TOP OF IT. I messed with it and messed with it, because it is a HASSEL TO TAKE ANYTHING BACK TO WALMART. And i finally got it to work but i couldn't sit it upright in this $60.00 Xbox 360 Display stand thing I had bought, so i had to lay it flat, and decided I wasnt happy about that, I called Microsoft It was Christmas Eve, was on the phone with them for 3 hours strait, while they were forwarding me back and forth to different departments, back and forth, to see what they would or could do to me, because i had proof, finally you know what they said after the 3 HOURS i was on the phone, "Ok Here is what we are going to do, you send us your broken xbox, we will fix it free of charge and throw in a month of XBOX live!" LMFAOOOO NO SH&*&# Huh? Already know they do that, had one break on me before. I WAS FURIOUS! Know what i did???? Took back that POS XBOX 360 and bought me a PS3, and I am not a fanboy but i LOOOOOOOOOOOVEEEE MY PS! because nothing NOTHING NOTHING has ever gone wrong with it. EVER! Had to buy a new controller i think because of the extensive COD MW running habit i have. That's it. It isnt that i am against the XBOX NAME, i am Against the GAME Microsoft plays, continuing to sell CRAP stuff to consumers who are too ignorant to know any better. I hope Microsoft BIG TIME looses this lawsuit and cannot manufacture the Xbox anymore, Why can't another company make the HARDWARE? Toshiba? ANYONE, i don't care, MICROSOFT IS NOT A HARDWARE COMPANY!!@#! I really hope they loose, they deserve to! I am sorry for all of you Xbox fans out there, i am not making any bad comments about the games or the User interface, i actually like it quite a bit, and the 360 has AMAZING games! Trying to prevent Microsoft from selling the 360 is not going to happen the over paid lawyers will see to that. But I sense a pattern going on here 1 month Sony is in court then Microsoft then this year Sony went to court again for a copyright on the Dualshock so since this month is Microsoft and last month was Sony so is it going to be Sonys turn in court again.

Having been through a RROD myself I can't say MS doesn't deserve to be taken to task for it.

With anything electronic device over $200 I always get a store warranty and I swapped it out at BB for a new one and haven't had any problems. I will not buy another one if it fails, just like the PS2 after going through a couple I gave up on it. Only recently giving Sony another chance with the PS3. So far so good.

I been threw 4 360s an the repair for free part didn't cover the problems I had with me, as for my PS3 1, Xbox 1 (The old school one), NES 2 (Sold one to a friend), Sega Genesis 2 (First one was stolen), Sega 32X 1, Sega Saturn 1, Dreamcast 2 an they are both having problems with the control slot and N64 1. PS2 I had 2 but my first one die about 2 years ago from a lighting storm -_- so I was to busy unlocking something lol, Gamecube I sold to a friend.

My hand held system list is smaller then home system lol but Game Gear is one of the only I haven't sold or been stolen.

i say hell yeah we should be mad at ms but on the other had if you decide to go though more than one console than it on you for geting another one and no one is holding a gun to your head and saying buy a 360 well at least not my head

i still woundnt buy one knowing its problems,

i had two amps fail on me, they where like 300 pounds each and when i brought them back to the shop they where replaced immediately, no questions asked so i was happy with the service provided, when it failed the third time i handed it back and upgraded to a 800 pound amp which has lasted 8 years with out a glitch, i personally dont want to go true all this again with the 360

the reason in my opinion they should be sued is because they have not redesigned the console as soon as the sh!t hit the fan. they stuck band-aid after band-aid on it. this makes no sense to me. f'up after f'up.

don't even think sony are immune to the same sh1t, their PS2 was just as bad as the 360 but how are sony fanboys blind to this??? because they were too young to even own the PS2.. that is why.

Every console since the dreamcast has had its fair share of problems. Sonys always seems to be a problem with the drive/laser/BR (all 3 of their machines) Everyone knows about the problems the 360 has had (xbox 1 is like a tank)

I still have a Sinclair ZX81 that still works!! and an old pong console (makes my HDTV go all wierd tho)

glennc - are you kidding the ps2 did not have such a huge failure rate as the xbox360 yes i know of some owners who got really unlucky, but still the xbox 360 seems to have set new standards of high unreliability lol

Well I wont go out on MS just yet, why well I have had only one RROD happen and the new console just started disk tray error, which I fixed :)

But Sony need to stand up and take the blame for there YLOD, I have had it four times now, I have payed them 150$ to fix it every time, but the last time I told them to stick it, they sent me an email telling me they will fix it for free from now on, if it happens again, and it is very bad on 40 gig models they die all the times, But I just hope it holds out till I finish uncharted 2, :) The last one they sent me was broken in the box "DOA" the new one I got today works :)

I learnt nothing from this story.

I might not be a fan of M$, but I think the this man asked for it(the system problem).

I'm not saying anyone deserves this, but this wsn't the first year of the systems release. By then/now, people would know a lot more of all 3 systems and should realize that there might be a risk of malfunctionof of all electronic device/systems(in this case, the 360) and the history shows us which system is more reliable and which is not.

He made a decision to go with the risk, now I don't know how well was the customer relationship management of the M$, but like I said earlier, this man should know the problems exist and yet he still spend money on it. So, I'd say....he can only blame himself for buying a unreliable system.(Sorry dude, but sometimes we learned things the hard way)

For those trying to rationalize faulty hardware are immature and in denial. I have mentioned this in my comments before. I have owned 2 RROD 360's. As a intelligent well informed consumer i switched to PS3. I haven't had any issues since 2007. People who are defending the 360 are too cheap or too poor to get a PS3 and they keep defending their purchase. The failure rates are ridiculous, yea all electronics aren't full proof from failure but the xbox is a total disaster!!!! loud, freezing issues,can heat a room with no heat in the dead of winter(which is actually a plus)additional charges for wireless and online gaming. Why would a smart consumer pay up 450+ dollars for something that wont last a year and just depend on MS to fix it every 2 to 3 months. Yes 450+$ when i add up every i need, wireless router 100, live 50. The PS3 had everything i needed right in the damn box the day i traded my partially broke 360 in for it.

These arguments regarding these systems IMO are kids and the cheap and poor=360 vs. Not cheap and poor and large adult base=PS3. All the people on my friends list are 25 and older. Smart people invest in reliable products and only a hopeless person with limited funds would invest in something they know is going to fail. Do yourselves a favor and stop throwing away your money and time to MS already!!! my goodness some of you folks are just plain stupid.

It amazes that a lot of idiots still defending MS with their flawed console..Consoles have more problems going for it than the infamous Red Ring of Death or Scratching Dics, I should know because I had many until I finally decided to go all Sony.

MS needs to be sued because there is no one those consoles are going to last post their production cycle. To this day my PS2, Super Nintendo, PSX, Dreamcast, and Nintendo 64 consoles still works.
