The Playstation 3 version of Oblivion is the best looking but when it comes to content the Xbox 360 and the PC version are better.

Shame on the UK for not stocking Oblivion for the PS3!

This game kicks arse on the 3.

Better graphics (slightly) and includes the expansion pack wheres the problem.

But i've noticed that people that dont own the 3 are jealous of the 3. I seen retailers talk people out of buying the 3 sayin its a waste of money but 9.5 out of 10 people have no problems with it once they own it.

The problem here is simply that with a library of few games (compared to other systems) the PS3 is straggling. There refusal of this game just gives bad press to the PS3. It shows consumers that the PS3 is doing so terribly that major retail chains are starting to refuse to carry games. HOWEVER we here no pretty much that its only one game.

But with rumors one game becames two, etc etc.

Unless there is a reason why (could be anything really maybe the game is faulty on the PAL version, maybe the recent shivering Isle's bugs that were on the pc , no news yet on the 360 however there is a patch for both, or too expensive to import, doubt that one really.)

This is VERY bad news on the PS3 camp.

Me personally I do not like the ps3 im an Xbot. However even I have reason.

And destroying one console is bad for business on all fronts.

Competition keeps improvements and breakthroughs coming.

Hopefully this gets resolved and soon.

...and more retailers should rebel like this, IMO.

When a game is ported from another platform, and it's over a YEAR LATER, retailers know the buzz, hype, and interest is largely over with. The majority of gamers who really wanted to play that game, likely already has. Couple that with the fact that the PS3 version still won't have a confirmation of all the other downloadable content for several months, and there's really not much that will sell this game, like on the 360/PC.
Games like FNR3, F.E.A.R., OBLIVION, Saint's Row, etc. should be $40-$50 titles, if publishers expect to sell what amounts to "reheated leftovers" from other platforms.

stupid business practice not stocking a popular game if you must buy from a high street, supermarkets seem to be the cheapest outlets these day's but everyone here has the net so get it online cheaper.

Game just aren't worth bothering with even full price on nearly everything no matter what your system of choice is

is it possible that this is not true? that they could be wrong...does the company have a web site like Gamestop does? we could check and see online if they indeed are not selling it. that is just weird if they are not.

I just googled GAME and could not find an online address for them. i did see a story on how GAME also canceled the PS3 midnight release at their store.
maybe they are just not to keen on ps3 for some dumb reason.
also kind of dumb to miss out on those sales...i would like to see their reason.

GAME says Oblivion PS3 on its way
Major UK retailer GAME has been hit by distribution problems with the PS3 version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which released on these shores today.

Staff at the Oxford Street branch of the chain told CVG this afternoon that it had no units in stock, adding that a number of its stores are in the same position. They said that they expect to have copies in next week, possibly Monday.

When contacted about the shortage, an Ubisoft spokesperson told us, "As demand for Oblivion has been so high there may be some supply problems with Game and Gameplay, which is why it's temporarily unavailable. However, it still is available elsewhere. Rest assured, Oblivion on PS3 is definitely out today in online and high street retailers."

Both HMV, Oxford Circus, and Virgin Megastore on Oxford Street confirmed they have plenty of copies of Oblivion on PS3 in store

it's on their website but have you seen how expensive GAME games are?? they are real rip-off merchants.. just an example of how rip-off they can be i went into a store today and they were charging 35 pounds (70 dollars) for a PRE-OWNED motorstorm. their website is generally cheaper but i asked them if they price-match with their own website and they said they don't - how bad is that?? they don't even price-match with themselves!!!! lol rip-off merchants are we is GAME.

To call this version of Oblivion better is foolish considering that the PC,360 version will get the same graphical overhaul by way of a patch.
Now performance wise i heard that the PS3 version chuggs alot indoors and in the caves, something by the way that wasnt visible on the 360 and PC versions so i fail to see its supiriority!

Either they arent too fond of the ps3 or they are just smart enough not to support it. I guess they dont want their store flooded with unbought PS3 just like Bestbuy and everyother store across the USA.

Oblivion in england, is doing tremendously well for some reason. It is most likely sold out and is being sold by these consumers. I just doubt that Bethsheda knew how well the game will do in uk.

Game aren't stocking it because after adding their mark-up to the price, they still can't compete with the likes of Woolworths, Morrisons, or just about anyone else for that matter!
