While the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP have been enjoying their supremacy in the handheld market this generation, Apple's iPhone is really stepping it up. With graphics that are better than the Nintendo DS, and an easy to access App Store, one has to wonder what is next for the multi function device....

Growth driven by digital software and console hardware sales.

The winner of the Pokémon Go Championship grand finals in Orlando was stripped of their title, allegedly for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' during their victory celebration. The celebration involved the winner removing their headset, standing up, and pumping their fists before shaking hands with their opponent. Many believe the ruling was excessive and that winner's victory celebration was tame compared to celebrations by winners in other competitive games.
There are people that get offended seeing others just enjoying a moment, or enjoying a hobby, or just having fun.
Can someone explain to me what is so problematic with this? I watched video multiple times and all I see dude having bit of celebration. None of his actions felt aggressive or seem like they symbolize anything... Like winning sure deserves bit of celebration like that. I mean who wants to live in the world where you aren't allowed to be excited or have bit of burst of happiness when you win? Like was he supposed to act like emotionless robot? He should be allowed to have bit of his victory "hell yeah" moment, even if it is before shaking hands with opponent. Like it is not like he didn't shake hands or whatnot. And it is not like he is like some super serious government official to have to stick to protocol to a letter. This whole thing is just ridiculous.

These new paid games, game trials and “buy once, play anywhere” pricing are coming to Play.
lol xD
The three of them are enjoyable and would be difficult to choose.. Although the DS is something I probably wouldn't choose so it would be between the iPhone and PSP.
I don't think it's going to take over and the major problem with it is the controls which can make games awkward or frustrating to play on the iphone.
It is a good force though because without the iphone we wouldn't have the DSiware(it'd probably be saved for next gen) or the PSP GO's downloadable stuff.
Some third parties aren't taking any of the handheld's seriously though and it's not enough to put a game on them if that game happens to be crap.
The iPhone is a really good device to play quick mini games on the go. I really can't stand playing Hero of Sparta-like games on a touchscreen only device though. There are some games that must use hardware buttons/controls no matter what.
...released a variation on the current IPhone or ITouch that had a slidable screen (like the PSP Go) that revealed physical controls (maybe with 2 analogs) then the PSP would die a quick death and those with a DS would at some stage mature into going "Apple".
Software alone will not save the PSP but it certainly won't hurt having more great games.
