I recommened we don't get our hopes up or we'll just be let down again.

dominicm6157d ago

Well they can't possibly rerelease it again...right?

SpoonyRedMage6157d ago

It'd only happen on the Virtual Console or PSN but I really don't think this has anything to do with Square Enix. It's something to do with the artist.

Well seeing as he says this:

"I love getting the chance to draw licensed stuff in my own style. Speaking of such, those of you Chrono Trigger fans should know what's going on here!"

So I'm thinking it's got to do with something outside of this artist's career, especially since he's done work for video games so recently.

unless this guy is lying,
Its possible that Square Enix licensed this game out and is allowing for a next gen CT.

My Best Case Scenario: Announcement of new game called "Chrono Break: Scars of Time" :D

Most likely Scenario: CT being ported to PSN and/or Xbox Live. :|

The DS gets enough remakes as is, why ask for something like that over the prospects of a true sequel?

The DS is over-saturated, let the consoles get some love too, sharing is caring an all that...

I want a Chrono Trigger game on my PS3. :)

TheColbertinator6157d ago

Chrono Trigger is arriving on the DS again with more new add-ons for a re-remake

Guitardr856157d ago

Umm...Didn't CT JUST come out for the DS...like JUST LAST YEAR?!?!

RockmanII76157d ago

2008 - Chrono Trigger for DS
2009 - Chrono Cross for DS
2010 - Chrono Break for DS

Thats my guess

Tex1176157d ago

Im not going to get my hopes up about any of this being good, but I sure wouldn't mind a version on PSN.

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman43d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
