There are 8 game modes, each of which poses a different tap based objective, and each of which also contains various sub modes or variations. Music is the clear winner for us because it requires little more than a half decent sense of rhythm to tap in time with the music as colourful circles pass the tap line, a task which would be mudane as hell if it weren't for the obscenely catchy Japanese flavoured dance tracks pumping away in the background. You WILL lose hours of your life to this mode, and you'll enjoy every beat of it.
The other modes are a little less impressive, ranging from a pretty dull Jenga rip-off to an extremely dull visualisations mode where you do absolutely nothing of any interest whatsoever. There's a pretty cool running game though.

La Noire was just a big tech demo for their new facial animations.
L.A Noire was a big disappointment to me. Quite repetitive, boasted one hell of a huuge nicely rendered map that was practically full of nothing to do.
Restrictive gameplay scenarios in how you approach / solve cases. The facial animations is what was amazing, but the rest was a letdown especially with the amount of little things you can do in the game.
Depends on personal preference/choice. I loved Heavy Rain. It was something new and fresh, and I'm glad I played it.
