With upcoming games like Halo 2 and Crysis requiring DirectX 10 in both hardware and software, it comes as a welcome surprise that a group has managed to release a preview build of a project which promises to bring DirectX10 compatibility to Windows 2000 and XP when completed. The Alky Project is also working on bringing Windows-only game releases to other platforms, like OS X and Linux.

Remakes of the campaigns featured in Xbox Game Studios' Halo 2 and Halo 3 are currently in development, according to a new rumor.
That's Microsoft's gaming division for you...kill off developers making new ip while trying to capitalize off some long lost glory that has no hope of ever being what it once was thanks to recent decision making favoring unrealistic profit goals and greed. What a joke.
So what’s their solution to having multiplayer? Wait until Halo 7?
That was one of the most memorable parts of Halo..
Why not just port the MCC? 🤔 That was the easiest layup ever and you completely missed it
I wonder if Microsoft will port Reach over to Playstation I quite enjoyed that game. I played Halo 3 and it was not bad I have Halo 2 on the OG Xbox I just need some cables to hook up to my tv to play it.
Holger Frydrych has just released a cool VR Mod for the 2007 version of Crytek's first-person shooter, Crysis.
Playing it right now looks amazing! :D
so much fun, i hope they make a vr mod for crysis 2 / 3 too!
This is amazing. This is the direction VR should go in to boost adoption. Since I have beaten every Crysis except 1, this is now a good excuse to correct that problem.

According to Crytek CEO Cervat Yerli, "I want[ed] to make sure Crysis does not age, that [it] is future proofed, meaning that if I played it three years from now, it should look better than today." Yerli and the team designed Crysis' highest graphical settings for the PC hardware of 2010 and beyond.
While Crytek has officially announced Crysis 4 is in development, nothing new has surfaced. For now, gamers' only way to scratch that itch is to play the Crysis Remastered Trilogy available on PC and consoles.
OG 2007 Crysis (not the remastered weirdo), is & will forever be a legend amongst the PC community.
I mean the lighting and physics still hold up extremely well. I still revisit it from time to time.
I remember when I tried to play Crysis with my Intel Pentium Dual core E2200 @2.2GHz , 4GB ram and GeForce 9400gt. I was a kid back then and that was the best I could do. I would get about 15 to 20 fps. When I over clocked the CPU to 2.8GHz I would get about 40fps. The experience wasn't good at all and it was the only PC game I could not run back then unless and put the settings on low. At that point the game went from cutting edge graphics to PS2 graphics. To this day I haven't completed the OG Crysis. I was able to complete Crysis 2 and 3 after building a new PC when I got my first job.
will make Vista useless
But if all or most new computers are changing to vista, xp would become less and less prevelant, though that will probably take a while.
btw PS3 Owns All change the picture, you don't want that crazy guy as your avatar, pick like phil harrison or something.
at first i thought that was kutaragi. never mind boy am i tired. Thats actually Hirai or whatever his name is. No he isnt as crazy as kutaragi
I would absolutely LOVE to be able to play DX10 games in an OS other than Vista... Linux would be friggin amazing, although I could live with XP.
I thought it was stupid of Microsoft to try and push Vista as a gaming platform when it is the most resource hogging OS they have put out to date! Vista merely runs OK on a system with 1GB of RAM, while XP (and Linux) would FLY if you gave it 1GB...
Here's to hoping these guys can successfully port this over to Linux!!
No more hating on the xbox 360 you ps3 fanboys.....I love sony as much as you all do...But I'm giving it up to Xbox360...Cause I got one....I will have PS3 by the end of the summer....But I just want you all to know that just because xbox360 and ps3 don't support dx10 it's being developed not just for your precious ps3...Go to cryteks website and check out the engine specifications if you don't believe me!
