All we seem to be getting now are essentially the same stories told in different ways, maybe the title's slightly different, maybe it summarises previous stories, maybe it adds or changes some words.

But that doesn't stop it being the same thing; I thought that's what Alternative Sources were for?

Aaargh Deep! I'm starting to go mad! How long before we start seeing 60, no wait, 100 different reviews submitted for one game every time a new game is released? :p

I wonder how you can disgagree with a question...I didn't provide answer...I asked a question hm.

I do feel this site should show previews of a game from different sources, as this is what it's about...but having these reports with the same numbers is like showing off the very same screenshots again and again just with a different title under them.

The news gets posted over and over again because; although the aproval system is easier on the mods people are starting to use news as tools to attack or to change opinion. The fanboys are aproving stories sometime with out reading the artical as long as the headline is saying what they want to hear.

happens on both sides though pg...in fact quite a bit more on the other side...there's a diff I think. Sony fans like to post positive, 360 fans like to post negative.

I've noticed that a lot of stories get approved while the temperature remains at zero or gets approved within seconds of the story being submitted. There must be a large number of cases where people aren't reading the source, hence the reason there's a lack of Source URL, Credit URL and Duplicate story reports for example, compared to a couple of months ago.

Too many people seem to catch the title, speed read through the description and immediately approve the story. People need to slow down, read the source, check the links work and search through the site to make sure the story's not a duplicate.

Was just looking at the people who approved this story and low and behold, NewsBot, i.e. the staff, was/were the last one to approve this!

It doesn't matter what any of us have said in our comments, if NewsBot themselves are approving these types of stories, then what can we do my friends, what can we do ... ?

yes it is a bit repetative, but if I already read it then it's of no interest to me so I'll pass it up. Not everyone visits N4G daily and stories get washed away under the flood of new stories daily. So this post was for people who visit once a week or so. Again, I'm not trying to start a flame war. I just found an article that was yet to be posted, even if the subject matter may have been, and put it out there for those who want to see it. Enjoy for those who do.

dude it's def news worthy for the rules of the site...it is a new analysis and a different view on it. Which of course is news..it was just a personal opinion about me being fed up of seeing the same numbers used in abot 5 different articles. I still kinda think it should be posted...I mean if we've seen it before it doenst matter...just dont have to read it, it's not like we are limitted to the amount of news that can be posted on the site. So the more the merrier. Kudos dude.

I can understand what you're saying mate, and no personal offence was intended in the comments. :)

Maybe the N4G staff could create a page themselves which provides a weekly recap and maybe commentary, where they take all the interesting news and provide links to the articles.

They could split the words up into paragraphs, each of which would centre on one particular story/event where the relevant articles are mentioned.

Hell, I like that idea so much I'm gonna add a comment about it in the N4G Updates article Dusty just submitted ...

even with HD DVD players at 10cents a player bluray is starting to make a impact with ppl and think of it this way - 3 million PS3(still growing) - will tell every1 they know bluray is the way and the word will continue to spread

sony was smart using the PS3 to push the BD format and since it had the support from the companies its really a no brainer

My god! Tell me where I can get 1 for ten cents a pop. I wouldn't count out HD DVD yet. I can smell the "Walmart Effect" now, if they are really indeed support HD DVD. Walmart can be biger then any studio combined.

This is simply a post regarding a news report from a major source.

The only thing repetetive in this is the fact that is says "Bluray Winning."

I, for one, like to know when something like PC world has positive news regarding products.

As for this whole "Wal-mart Effect."

It will have absolutely no effect, you can GIVE AWAY HDDVD players and it still wouldnt make a difference with no studio support and worth while releases.
