I remember playing Halo exactly they way I played Golden Eye and Perfect Dark for the N64. I played it with four friends over on the same screen on the same console? Halo did not change anything for me. Unless he is referring to Halo 2, which did change the way I played FPS on a console. If he was referring to Halo 2, then he should have made that clear.

Killzone 3!!!?? can't wait on PS3.

I have a feeling they will be jumping right into working on KZ3 but I would love to see their engine on some other game types. It is the most impressive engine in consoles right with Naughty Dog's.

2. Hire better writers. The script in KZ2 was piss poor. F grade material like Gears.
3. Introduce other fractions into the story. The UCA and outer colonies fraction comes to mind.
4. Graphics similar to the KZ2 Intro movie.
5. New environments.
6. Kill Rico.

I mean, it'll be a good jump but I'm sure with the stuff they'll likely do for KZ3 like 4-8player co-op forest and jungle scenery etc they'll probably not want to go to insane with the graphics.

I'd think a jump like that of Motorstorm 1 to MS:PR would be in order but hey, this is GG, they do some insane things with graphics so heck, who knows 'till we see KZ3.

Definitely Killzone 3. This time it'll hopefully not have the weight feel that a lot of people complain about.

Killzone 2 was an awesome game. Naughty Dog upgraded their engine a lot and I can't wait to to see what Guerrilla can do with theirs.

Killzone2,while not perfect was a refreshing take on the genre,the feeling of weight,oft criticised,was a nice touch and the environments(grey,mundane,etc) actually helped convey the idea of a bleak,war torn world at the back end of the universe.
GG has the engine,the talent,the experience,now,to deliver another excellent game,that is comforting.=)

Noah's Ark 3D is the first FPS, I think it was for Commodore or Intellivision.
Killzone's story is epic if you have actually READ it.
Hopefully we get KZ3 from the Helghast perspective & they bring back all the weapons from KZ1 & KZ2.

Goldeneye for N64 was the start of FPS as we no it. None of that Halo sh1t.

I LOVED Killzone, I enjoyed it way more than Halo 2. It had really fun shooting, something Halo didn't have.

Perhaps GG should take a break and make Killzone: Liberation 2. But if they want to make another PS3 game, right of the bat, that is fine by me.

-For KILLZON3, GG should go back to KILLZONE 1 roots. What I mean by this is that they should reintroduce Colonel Gregor HAKHA and Shadow Marshall LUGER, who were completely nonexistent in KZ2. For the most part, these characters should be still alive, along with General Dwight Stratson, ( who they should have break out of prison).

-Bring back the Helghast dogs.

-This may be out of reach, but implement coop and/or split screen.

-Have the Helghast playable in single-player/story mode similar to how you were able to play as the arbiter in HALO.

-Introduce another faction or even another planet to fight on (besides Vekta)

- Party System?

-Bring. Back. Metrac. General Armin Metrac was bad@zz. I think he was the most or one of the most evolved Helghast. Who else is going to rule Helghan?
GG should revive him or something. If KILLZON3 is to be situated in Vekta Metrac would be a great commander. We shall wait and see.

The problem with most shooters is not that the stories are generic, its that the tales are anti-climactic and dont have enough emotional barter with the characters...

For example one good game that had a great storyline was the first installement of FALL of MAN. The whole narrative was great in conveying a great sense of urgency, drama, mystery and hope. And it did it without bad acting, long cut scenes etc etc

MGS4 had a great story but isnt really a first person shooter...

Anyways thats one example...the KILLZONE game that came out on PS2 had a great beginning, the whole Nazi'esque intro and the fierce look of the Helgast...

What really needs to be done is to keep the MYSTERY in the games...not to give a whole lot of information on the bad guys, keep us imagining what the heck the master plan is...

We also have to lose those hollywood style militia-men with the generic tough boy dynamics...every game has them it seems, Gears of War, Haze, Call of Duty, etc etc

I am personally sick of those...think of the first STAR WARS and how a geeky ass Mark Hamil was our hero not some hulking dude with looks like he ate steriods for breakfast and made love to his gun all day...

With all the old school maps and new area maps using this awesome engine. I would as I already said request Killzone (Orginial) for Playstation 3 with about 5 hours more story showing the lead up to Killzone 2.

Truth be told I requested all orginial IP's from playstation to be re-done for playstation 3 PSN store. This would help with the lack of B.C. Game support...

i'm pretty sure they will add environmental destruction to KZ3, as well as co-op play. As for improvement in graphics,i have no doubt whatsoever.

Actually if they manage to maintain that level of gfx after adding env.destruction,splitscreen and 30v30 MP, colour me impressed :)

Well, maybe in the USA it costs 400 USD but here in germany, it costs 299euro in every Saturn/ Media-Market and still ppl dont buy it. Also KZ2 hasnt a really big nme in Europe, maybe you have in the USA better marketing, more TV adds i dont know.

There wont be Killzone in 2014 cause there will be a new PS in 2014.

Just look at VC2, SOny drops the support for the PS3, they want it only on psp. Handhelds + motion control are the future.

I remember buying Doom for my SNES. It sucked demon balls, but Doom for the PS1 was fantastic. My brothers and I linked our consoles and had days of co-op and competitive fun. Those who are asking for an open world Killzone might as well forget it. This engine is not designed for that type of game. Those who downloaded the interactive KZ2 Behind the Bullet video for free knew that GG wasn't done with the PS3 months ago, so once again kudos to N4G for breaking news in a timely fashion.

It'll be KZ3, ater all the time put into that engine, they will probably upgrade it further and then get on with the third game.

What's with the part of Killzone receiving a poor response from gamers everywhere? Not that I remember. It was probably too much for the PS2 to handle but it did well. If it didn't why would they keep making Killzone games? What exactly is a poor response anyway? If it doesn't match Halo sales?

If you are expecting more out of your xbox, you just have to wait for a new iteration of the system. The PS3 has more to give, but the 360 is pretty much maxed out allready.

Great games will be made though, just look at the PS2, still making good numbers of their game sales.

i'd love for them to take a small break from kilzone and try something else.. i love killzone 2, but great games need a longer break period in between sequels.

with what Guerrilla Games did visually and technically on the ps3 they raised the bar in a lot of ways. even the ps3 haters that gave killzone 2 props for the visuals dont really get what was really done visually.. its not just a game that looks great, there are layers and layers and layers of visual and animated scenes going on during gameplay..

sniper in cod4, socom, halo, etc etc just has a good sight and maybe some smoke in the sideline.. killzone 2 has environment changes like sparks of metal, fog, smoke from grenades, dust, sand, sunlight, shades ets dynamically changing making a sniper a sniper and not just a rifle man with a scope...

with that said i'd like to see developer like Guerrilla Games team up with another sony (or third party) developer.. (it really should be the new industry) a known knowledgeable developer who knows the console (like a Bungie, Guerrilla Games, Insomniac, etc etc ) teaming up with a great idea developer who makes games like mirrors edge, prototype, dark sector, dead space etc etc etc.... a great mechanics developer with a great code developer that would really raise the gaming bar..

could you imagine if capcom's developer for Dead Rising teamed up with rockstars developer for state of emergency? (and dont give me that state of emergency sucked bullcrap)

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.
