last time they ordered some netflix blurays and scratched the hell out of them and printed a article that said blurays are easy to scratch... because they came in the mail on a tuesday from manhattan in a paper sleeve under 5 pound bulk mail.

I only have a few blu movies but I mostly still get regular dvd. So long as there is choice then people may gravitate to the least common denominator. Mine is driven by convenience. Create the necessity and consumers will have no choice in the matter.

Everyone said the Car was a rip off... the consumer doesn't know what it wants I could sell them a blank book with Micheal Jackson on the cover much easier than I could a truly great book.

I don't use blu-ray and I don't even use DVD, I use SSD sub-standard definition basically youtube quality and for me it doesn't matter because shakespeare on toilet paper would still be shakespeare.

But sadly, I don't have too many at the moment. I only have about 10 total. If there is a movie coming out that i just have to have in hi-def, and want all the bells and whistles, then I buy it on BR disc.

However, in a lot of cases, I still buy regular old DVD for its cheapness and convenience. I only have one BR player, my PS3, and dvd players everywhere else, including the bedroom, where I watch tv the most.

If I had another BR player in the house, my bedroom mostly, then maybe I'd probably more. But the players still cost too much, and the difference between dvd and br isn't huge enough for me to heavily invest in it yet. But, I've been willing to get my feet wet at least.

I'm hoping that BR does take the next step in being the format of choice in the forseeable future. Digital downloads are nice, but I prefer having something like discs and cases for my collections.

It use to be hard to decide whther to get HD-DVD and BLU-RAy since they are both supported by different studios.

Now that BLU-RAY won and consumer can enjoy movie in BLU-RAY movies from all major studios, people turn still complain.

SONY bashers are trying too hard these days. How about some rip off like what other cusotmer did with those HD-DVD players add-ons for $149.99 and hard drvies for $149.99. Now thats a real ripoff.

I have yet to purchase a BD movie besides the ones I got when I forst got my PS3. I will not purchase until this format is secure. DVD's bargain bins and it's price, is fine for now.

I paid about $26 for FF7: ACC and I kind of regret it a bit. The price tag feels a bit steep as I could possibly grab the streaming version for much less. The extras on the BD isn't worth the price-tag.

HDDVD drives on the 360 are a ripoff though. A dead format drive mostly used today as a cup handler.

I mean Underworld features on DvD included the comic, while in Blu-Ray they removed it.
Basically Blu-Ray versions always remove some nice features

i don't really care what is coming in 5, 10 or more years.
right now, blu is amazing. i've got a great blu movie/game libray.
and when LotR:extended version comes out on blu..........i'd pay 150 dollars to have it. (by the way......it's cheesy for whoever is bring LotR out on blu this fall to only have the theatrical versions. anyone with some smarts will wait on the extended version.

I just got my first, true 1080p (upgraded from 1080i) 60" TV and I watched Batman on my PS3 as my first "true" HD movie. I have the M1000 HDMI cable (retail 189.00 got it NEW on Ebay for 29.99. Yes, 29.99 brand new in the box HFS!) and have Monster optical running in 6.1 DTS through my Onkyo receiver.

I cannot believe the clairity and sound compared to what I had before. Heath's face looks like the make up is still wet. The colors are so vibrant I literaly keep watching it over and over.

I am always a fan of new tech, but this is top of the line. I don't care what it costs or if I have to wait longer for DD to catch up. ALL my movies from now on will be on blu-ray.

I can't flipping wait for Uncharted 2 and God of War. They are running native 1080, yes?? Anyone??

All new movie purchases I make are Blu Ray. Id really like it if they brought the price for blu ray brand new down to 20 each instead of 30. Some movies however especially older ones are being released for 20. Ghostbusters and the Skynet Edition of T2 are good examples of that. Also many places hold really good sales on blu rays now which usually go for 10 and up. Blu ray isnt likely to stop being made anytime soon especially with studios re releasing titles on blu ray. Im reluctant to completely replace all my dvds with blu rays but certain movies I have will be getting replaced with the better format. On another note I do believe Disney is really doing the most to push Blu ray out into mainstream and also giving people the best value for their money. Some of their more recent releases include not only the movie on Blu ray but also include a Digital copy for PCs and digital players and at the same time it includes the movie on dvd. Considering they give customers both for the usual 30 dollar price it can do alot to get people to make that switch.

62 blu ray movies and watching them on my lg 42x106cm lcd and i love bluray im getting rid of my dvds but i will get some shows tmnt and smallville and underbelly on dvd but the rest of my dvds are going but i do have an lg blu ray hometheatre and i have batman dark night but havent had the chance to watch it as of yet so i will be checking dark night out later next week

I don't think Blu-Ray rip off Blu-Ray. I work at a wal-mart store and always ask customers how you like your blu-ray player. They say " We love it". And I remember one day a customer ask me do you sell any hd-dvd playes or movies. And I was like "ok" to my self and told him they don't make anymore HD-DVD players you can only get them online. So Blu-Ray is not ripping off consumers. M$ didn't even support HD-DVD cause they don't want to price up their systems if the have it built in the Xbox 360 and that could of help. So they want to keep with dvd. Still don't know if M$ can support DVD as their storage medium for games.
