Is this article kidding? Almost all PS3 owners have a PC, and a gaming PC is very cheap these days. Any game you could possibly interested in on the 360 is also on the PC, but you don't have to pay to use online and there are more people playing it. Not to mention mod-ability and not having to worry about RROD. There's absolutely no reason to have a 360 if you have a PS3 and a gaming PC (which costs about $300 for everything).

You know, I think I'd rather spend that 360 money or more games for my PS3. That would be more wisely spent. I, personally, don't really get into 360 games though I've played a lot of them. They tend to loose my interest very quickly. Thats the reason I bought a PS3. That could change, but looking what direction Microsoft is going, I have a feeling I'm going to stay with Sony.

i had a 360 before the ps3 came out i i did love it in-till the problems started to put it simply it not worth my time any more i still have but it is broken and they want me to 250 to fix it no thanks it was cheeper to invest in a gaming pc hell the sad thing is the first xbox 1 works better than my 360 ever did but i say if you can afford it and don/t have a pc by all means pick one up also

I have both consoles and even though I prefer my PS3, I thk its worth mentioning that this "heater" is STILL outselling PS3 by 8 million. I dont care how good Microsoft's marketing is. If a "heater" is outselling a blu-ray console with free online play, better reliability, and better games..theres a problem. I love my PS3, but better marketing from Sony would help em out alot.

360 is my second hand gaming machine most the time due to 360 titles becoming cheaper, also games have no actual massive install on old titles released 2007 late 2008.

I keep my 360 mainly to play Mass Effect, Crackdown and EDF2017, XBLA can have its own great exclusives but in my opinion has by far less good quality, original games unlike PSN. Having a 20gb HDD, I struggle to have space for DLC and since my specific 360 sounds like Heathrow Airport when the DVD Drive is running, with some titles I have no choice but to ironically; install the game, which due to my XBLA games (REZHD, Doom, GW, GW2, Space Girrafe, Lumines Live!, The Maw) leaves me with hardly any space.

Despite a few bells and whistles, I am not on the XBL bandwagon yet, ask me again when Serious Sam HD, the new Painkiller and Quake Arena Arcade are out. Because gaming for free online and PSN with basic online gameplay features makes a lot more sense for me and enables me one retail game or a few second hand titles a year.

I like a few 360 games, it would be cool to have a 360, because my best gaming friends got talked into buying the original xbox by shyster EB Games employees back in the day, and they've stuck with the brand, but for whatever reason they've never even tried playstation. I was not happy with my original Xbox, but was very pleased with my PS2, so when it came time to choose, I got a PS3 instead of a 360, and I really don't want another console to soak up even more money, but I would probably get a kick out of one. Anybody willing to donate? ;D

I got both 360 and PS3 at launch and I believe you need both.I will say that since I got my PS3,the 360 is definitely the 2nd console.I still own one for Crackdown1/2,L4D1/2,Alan Wake and Gears(yet to play 2.I want to play co op but cancelled Live.Yes,PS3 online is great for gaming!).PS3 line up is getting so good,it's hard to keep up.If I was buying a console now,360 would be a bad choice.2 years ago it would be the top choice.Both is still BEST option(I've got a Wii but Meh).

i had a bad coming with my xbox 360 -_- got it 2007 got halo and gears for it and both my disk got full scratched circles on it i was the dumbass not know that i cant pick up the damn console the first time and the 2nd time my little nephew knock my 360 down... i was pretty pissed but i got the discs fixed and about 7months later got rrod and i just couldnt put up with it anymore so i waited next year got a ps3 with cod4 and mgs4 and just kept on getting games

I have a PS3 and wont be getting a XBOX360 due to having a great PC which will play any game out. Most 360 games come to PC. I have too many games as it is for PS3, PC and DS. May get a PSP next.

All consoles are great and they all have great games. Who ever says a certain console has crappy games, its an idiot. If you cant get both, just get the one that offers more to you. I like them all , so I bought them all. My first was the 360. I like the games and the Live features. Then, I bought the PS3 because i want it BluRay and the exclusive. I always like playing games on their native console, so thats why I play most multi platform games on 360. Ports sometimes have minor problems in PS3, and thats another reason I play them in 360.

Overall, all consoles are great, if you cant buy them all, just get the one you think you will like the most.

don't think we'll ever get away from it completely, i love both systems, i love playing killzone 2 and infamous on my ps3,and some cod4, but for the most part i play my 360 cause the color and graphics are better on the multiplatform games, exclusives different story all together, if every game on the ps3 could look as good as killzone 2 then i'd buy everything for it but that's just not the case, i've also had less problems with my 360 (i know right) who'd have thought but its true, anyway i like both systems and i suggest everyone own both cause otherwise you miss out on the exclusives, i didn't stay hardcore to 360 because if i had i'd have missed out on killzone 2 and infamous and i'm so glad i didn't, but same goes for the 360 if i had stayed hardcore to ps3 then i would have missed out on L4D and Halo 3 and Gears 1 and 2 and mass effect and all the wonderful DLC on fallout 3. so again good article and i'm glad i have both.

I agree that xbox live is better than psn, but what i dislike about xbox live, its not a friendly atmosphere. 80% of my time i hear kids bickering, and even swearing.
Psn is more friendly and yes i came across kids but they are not worse than xbox live.

i helped launch 360 as a manager of a million dollar store.and i watched as my customers were coming back complaining that their systems were dying.we gave them the 1 800 number to call microsoft.some were not willing to wait for their system and bought a second one.i thought that was dumb.i didn't tell them that.but that's what i thought.now these gamers come into my new store needing to repair the 360.always looking for thermal compound artic silver #5.sad.

they eventually got their money back from microsoft but they STILL bought a second system already.pretty much paying more than a ps3 purchase.then these same people paid to play online.no way.would never do that if i don't need it 24/7.then they went out and bought the hd-dvd.when clearly bluray had better tech and movie support.

perfect example of ridiculous pricing.i just recently bought a western digital 500g hard drive for ps3 for $99.you can't get that same size for one on 360.and two,that small 120g is more than what i paid for the ps3 hard drive.

but i honestly have NOTHING to play on my 360 (literally - i beat and traded in Crackdown, Fable 2, and a few others. my wife played and beat Mass Effect so much that i had no desire to beat it myself, and eventually we traded it in for newer games).

i LIKE the 360 when there is something worth playing on it, but not being a Halo, Splinter Cell, or Gears of War fan really seams to hurt my enjoyment of the system.

the fact that the PS3 has games in genres i care about, and free online, i'm finding it hard pressed to reasonably justify why i still own a 360. every genre is represented on the PS3, and represented WELL at that.

i guess i keep it because i'm hoping that MS will release some TRUE exclusives for the platform that don't involve shooting people and blowing sh*t up in the first or third perspective.

i'm looking forward to Alan Wake and Mass Effect 2, however. sadly, they don't hit until next year.

to me, it feels like the 360 is the Sega Genesis of this console generation: it has some good games, but the SNES (PS3) is overall the more powerful, versatile system with all the most desirable exclusives.

I cant agree with you that PSN has more friendly ppl playing online. PSN is free, so many jerks take advantage of this. After playing in both consoles, i met alot mean ppl on PSN. PSN is not well protected from jerks. Live has many features that can protect your kids that PSN doesnt have at all. Many parents dont know about it, so they they keep talking sht about Live.Dont be lazy and explore your Xbox 360 settings more, so you can see what Im talking about.

multiplatform games work and look better on 360. They are made for 360 and then port to PS3. Many port tent to have minor problems in PS3. Even the multiplatforms that were made on PS3 have a few problems. I would just recommend to buy exclusives on PS3.

but i must say, both consoles are great and amazing but PC just wins with the most customization options. i love my pc build and it cost me just over what a ps3 cost at launch and it runs games smoother and better than the ps3 or 360

but I think it's a matter of timing. I waited for a few years to decide which console to buy. I admit I was waiting on the ps3 because I thought square enix was going to release FF13 exclusively for that console alone. My parents make such a big deal about me buying more than ONE console because they believe games are a waste of time and MONEY. I think they wouldn't be so bothered if the consoles were pretty cheap, then maybe I can purchase another console. I already own a wii and ps3, but not a 360. Having another big console in our house can be eye soring for my parents, so I decided not to get it YET. The other hold back excuse is the RROD heck I've heard gamers with jaspers that still got the RROD. I look at longer terms, so it seems like the wii and ps3 can probably last a bit longer than the 360. The 360 does have some games I want especially from the old xbox, but I need more before I convince myself to buy it (I don't want another N64 with no more than 10 games in the library).

I'm a PS3 owner and I don't want or need a 360. Here is why:

1.- I'm a game collector. The more consoles I have the more I spend in games. I have 38 PS3 games most of them I bought new. If I own another console I will want to have as many games as possible for it and I will be broke.
2.- I only buy products that are reliable. The 360 is a very powerful console but quality wise its really bad believe me one of my relatives works for one of the 5 American companies that fix the consoles and he said to me how bad the quality is. He bough a PS3 for his home.
3.- I have been using Windows for the longest time and I have an issue with MS ethics and business practices so I will not support a company that operates the way they do.

If Apple ever releases a console I will probably support them but for now my PS3 is all I need.

After my PS3 died one of my friends gave me his X360 for some time because he have been working a lot lately and does not have to play it anyway. I just went to Walmart and bought a PS2 and now I am playing Xenogears...

I have the PS3 because it's fantastic, and I have the Xbox 360 because mine wa only $130 on Craigslist. (Pretty much what a Xbox 360 is worth.)

You get a lot of things first and while there have been a couple instances when the ps3 version has more it's definately the exception.

for parents, better controls and you have more control over what your kids do on it.

I believe every gamer in general should at least give the 360 a try. LIVE is awesome and the 360s controller resting in your palm feels ergonomically perfect for most games, especially FPS.

I used to have an Xbox 360. I had one during the 2005 holiday season from Ebay back when it was still a hot item. There were actually alot of great titles to choose from in the launch lineup, but I wanted to wait a little while and see which titles would be worth purchasing afterwards. I could not find one title I was really excited about aside from Halo 3, which has a special place in my heart along with the rest of the trilogy.

I eventually traded in my 360 for a used PS3 and the rest is history. Halo 3 was the only game I really wanted from the 360 as a whole. All the other games were either available on PS3, or were games that weren't of my tastes as a gamer.

The Xbox 360 is still a great console to own if you have one, and if you can find more games to you liking on that console then more power to you.

I suppose I could always use my friend's 360 to complete Halo 3. Other than that, I have no real need for one right now.

well i got a ps3 and i am happy with it, and i look at the 360 line up and there is nothing there that would really make me say that i need one..not to mention the RROD...it all comes down to what games you like.

Just buy a high power PC and download the software to play 360 games on your PC that didn't come to PC -_- pretty simple an 360 games are easy to hack because its using outdated tech, that is one of the reasons why bluray is better an I might get a 360 but all it be for is Halo -_- an thats if I don't get the PC that runs Bluray (Burner an player) as well as a DVD burner/player. So it would be easy an one good thing is then I would have more memory then what you get for a 360 (Try 8TB's on a PC) so yeah.

hum.....is this being enforce on N4G? It doesn't seem like it is working.

ps3 and xbox 360 are fantastic gaming consoles

I have both and enjoy them equally. My 360 for gaming and Netflix and my PS3 for BluRay. There haven't been to many intriging games on the PS3 for me to consider buying yet. Uncharted was ok, but Uncharted 2 looks like it may be my first day one purchase. Plus the PS3 controller sucks. It's like it was made to fit a 12 year old girls hands.

That what it looks to me, since Microsoft want the XBOX360 to sell so bad it doesn't want competition by monopolizing all customers. They know as a fact that the PS3 selling better in rates only and they are caching up with the XBOX360 in an alarming rate, while the PS3 is getting some of the former XBOX360 exclusives such as Ninja Gaiden 2, Tales of Vesperia, with more features, etc.

If I truly want an exclusive game(First party only), I have my PC for that, so I don't need an XBOX360 at all. The weather is changing and sooner or later will become cold...

As a gamer, I advise you guys to buy more games for your platform of choice, and have a wonderful gaming experience, instead of expending more money needlessly for something that you don't really need.

The multiplatform titles are there and won't go away, unless you love to pay more bills than you have to...(you know what I mean)

actually if you think about it, 360 owners need a ps3. in terms of games, you could buy almost every 360-exclusives on the pc. mass effect, gears of war, braid, even upcoming titles such as allan wake. try finding a copy of mgs4 on other consoles or pc. most of the people here have pcs, you could even get your 360 or ps3 controller to work on the pc versions of the games :)

LOL @ the 360 hate. But I completely get it. This is exactly how 360 fans feel when you see article after article claiming that everyone should own a PS3. When the bottomline is gamers in 2009 are not as gullible as they we in the old days. The console choices are just increasingly more abundant than the days of the dominant Nintendo and Sony.

My favorite part about N4G.com is he fact that you see all of the 'bu-bu-bu-t I don't need a 360 because I have a PC and a PS3. Look it doesn't matter what system you own, if you come to N4G.com and comment, then it is highly likely that you have a CONSOLE and a PC.

But the bitter truth is PC gaming is a non-issue to consoles in 2009.
It doesn't matter if I continue to drop over $3000 dollars on a top of the line power rig w/ a 360 controller. It won't come close to gaming on my 360 with Xbox live, my friends list,my achievements, my complete 360 game collection (100+), Xbox live arcade, in the comfort of my living room and ridiculous big screen T.V.

Consumers have spoken and console gaming is where it's at. Unless, I want to dust off my WOW characters for another marathon go, it's not going to happen. When you see the ridiculous numbers that fans log on Halo 3 alone every day (1 million plus), it shows you that the world does not care that a small percentage of Xbox 360 exclusives and multi-plats make it onto PC. Even the ones that do make it won't surpass the gaming accessability of buy disc, put it in your system , press start. No downloading, No registering, no passcodes, etc.

For the people who do have the systems and like to play on em', well god bless em', keep enjoying your PC gaming. But, the effect on the 360 is minimal at best for any title that makes it to the PC.

As for the other argument, well it honestly goes both ways, because 360 gamers arent running to purchase PS3s either. And just like all the supposed first hand comments on RROD. I know multiple owners who have had terrible hardware issues with their PS3s. I'm knocking on wood because my first year system and my Elite are both working perfectly fine.

This generation is clear. Mostly everyone will own a Wii and at least one of the other consoles. It's clear on a site like this that everyone is in the trenches when it comes to defending their systems and that is actually a good thing.
