I definitely agree the Naughty Dog Engine 2.0 deserves the #1 spot and that the KZ2 engine ranks a very, very close #2.

Can't wait to get my hands on Uncharted 2.

I feel that Capcom's engine and the engines running GT5 and The Last Guardian should have made the list.

I think the Geo-mod 2.0 Engine is quite fantastic. The one used in Red Faction. If I'd compare it to the Frostbite Engine, I'd say it surpasses it but only slightly. Both are really good engines though.

This list failed by including the Unreal Engine. It is easily the buggiest engine this generation to the point of ruining certain games that used it(The Last Remnant) It has horrible collision detection issues horrible slow down issues and simply put it doesn't look as impressive as it did when this gen started.

If That's how you spell it OK I know a lot of you will jump down my throat for this but surely is the best engine.
For the whole life span of the nintendo wii its bin said it can not reach the graphics level it has people saying its not powerful enough.
Then along came the HVS and managed to get lower scale xbox 360 graphics out of the wii and there still improving it with games like the grinder and that gladiator one though it does not have the capibility to match standard xbox/ps3 games it did the impossible.
No one thought the wii could push these graphics HVS Q3 Engine Should Be On that list

i really think the frost engine should be number one. I mean really no other engine comes close to its destruction. and the games looks amazing and don't lag at the same time.

I think Rockstar's RAGE engine should get a look. These were all FPS games. GTAIV is technically brilliant.

The Chrome Engine is actually not that good in my opinion. I think that close up the textures in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood were very average, and the lighting wasn't so great.

Of course, I also don't think that the Unreal Engine 3 deserves much praise. It's only on my list because it's extremely versatile. The Unreal Engine 3 is hurting the creative drive behind games. Developers who use the Unreal Engine 3 usually don't push the envelope with the visuals.

i'm sure you all disagree bt i've been playing far cry 2 alot lately and holy shizzle it looks awesome, i think i'd trade the graphics of cryengine for the graphics/performance ratio of Dunia anyday, far cry 2, 1680*1050 everything max 8*aa and still get an average of 50 frames while playing in game, hell yes, crysis 1680*1050, very high...no anti aliasing, barely 30 fps, very disapointing

The Crystal Engine should be on there. /joke/ But still it does look pretty good.

CryEngine is the best PC Engine soon console, MGS Engine just pwnd killzone 2 and naugh dog Engine, The Ghostbuster Infernal Engine was cool too but Chrome Engine 4 and MT Framework 2.0 are just the best "My personal opinion"

People whinge about the Unreal Engine, but it is the easiest to get a game up and running allowing you to polish. It is so well set up and has such simple tools to get games working. It is not the best for the gamer by far, but it is nice and easy to use when busting a game out.

Man, cryengine, dunia, and the two assassin's creed engines are easily better than unreal 3. As is RAGE, the MGS4 engine, and MT frameworks. Even source runs better, though they need to make some upgrades in the visuals department. Just because Unreal 3 is used by half of everyone and 1 or 2 games know how to make it not run like a$$ doesn't mean it's a good engine, most of the games that use it can't iron out the glaring glitches and texture pop-in. I'm not too impressed with the frostbite engine either, a lot of the destruction in Bad Company felt like smoke and mirrors to me, and I could definitely see some model-swapping. The chrome engine is good but I'd probably swap out the bottom 3 for better engines.

EDIT: though, for Unreal 3, I have to give a lot of credit to the Arkham Asylum devs, the graphics really don't look like your average Unreal engine game. The engine is very versatile, but unfortunately it really isn't used that way most of the time, and it hasn't evolved much in this generation. Like Gears 2, for example, wasn't really that better looking than Gears 1. I'd even put 1 as looking better a lot of the time, it's just weird that there wasn't much of a visual evolution there.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
