The recent proliferation of gaming download services has offered small-scale developers a vital route to market, with low-costs, low-risks and easy distribution of product.
However, while the likes of Apple's iPhone App Store and Google's Android Marketplace boast massive catalogues of indie titles, Nintendo's fledgling DSiWare service has - by and large - been dominated by large publishers thus far.
This could be set to change. With the likes of Alien Havoc, Mecho Wars and Pop Island on the horizon, it would seem that smaller studios are finally finding their feet with Nintendo's latest distribution platform.
Another indie title that has recently been announced is Flipper, courtesy of Goodbye Galaxy Games. Pocket Gamer got in touch with founder (and sole staff member) Hugo Smits and quizzed him about this upcoming title.

In an interview with Nintendo Fans Online, Hugo Smits from Goodbye Galaxy Games has revealed that he is working on a brand new 3DS E-Shop game. It's still very unsure what this title will be, but it is happening!

"In the early months of 2010, the DSiWare service was graced with the unique title Flipper. Costing 500 Points, Goodbye Galaxy Games' debut on the service put you in control of a young boy trying to rescue his Goldfish. The game lets you not only navigate the world, but change the world in various unique ways simply by touching it. What started as merely an engine test became fairly popular, gaining a following of players on DSiWare." -- Wiiloveit.com

Engine Software has released the first set of screenshots for their upcoming Dsi title, Flipper 2. Flipper 2 is the sequel to….well, Flipper, of course, Goodbye Galaxy Games popular Dsi games involving a a valiant little boy and his goldfish–the aforementioned Flipper.
