I seen in wal-mart the other day they had the 160gig uncharted bundle with Killzone 2 and LittleBigPlanet attached to the box for the regular price of that SKU.

But it IS a price Drop. The games are free or subtract the price of the games from $399 and there's the lower PS3 price. Either way its a Hell of a Deal. Only one that may come close is Target's Bundle with Resistance in it.

Still I liked my LBP pack better, more special box art plus I got Motorstorm 2 with it for 399 Euro. MGS4 is not for everyone and KZ2 is a generic shooter.

Glad I bought my pack last November. Haven't seen full boxart like the LBP one again that hot.

Last summer I picked up a 40 GB PS3 for 400 flat. If the games didn't cost so much I wouldn't mind, but I should have waited...

Almost makes me regret buying mine a year age, Almost. I still prefer my 80gig MGS bundle, but for anyone wanting a PS3 WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!!! GET THIS ONE!!! Both games kick ass. I also say, swap for a bigger HD right away.

Wow!! I bought my 80gb for $500 last summer and it only came with one of those games! It had PS2 emulation though, but if these rumors about a backwards-compatibility update is true, that's a moot point. What an incredible deal.

but not sure it will have the impact everybody wants it to have. This bundle is aimed at a very specific population, and I would like to believe that the specific population would have already made the move to enjoy these games. Then I wonder if it is being released too early. Now...with all that said, get off the couch or computer chair...and go get your bundle!

This two xclusive titles bundle it with this 80gb model are going to help Sony sell more in the U.S. No doubt its a desperation move but for me its a great deal. But if they give me Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1 + 2 with a PS3 80gb for $399 RIGHT NOW i will jump on it faaaaaaaaaaaaaasssst! In my opinion that is a Pre-Price cut that way they will know how much the price cut its going to improve sales in U.S. and the reaction of the gaming community. Remember they lose money if they cut the price but also if they leave it with a $399.

Hey first time PS3 owners, do get that bundle cause thoes two games KZ2 and MGS4 are two of the best games this gen. But... i noticed that if of course you are a newcommer to MGS you might love it or hate it without playing the otehr MGS games so i would suggest getting the MGS: The essentail collection first befir playing MGS4. Again, its really your guys newcommers call if you want to do that.

In any case, Killzone 2 oh ya. I just got that game yesterday and holy crap is it good. Its probabley one of teh best FPS gamea (In my oppionion). So in other words, you new guys are in for one killer package! Hope you enjoy them! :)

Wow ive had my 60gig original model for so long, I havent been paying attention to these other models. What baffles me is why in the world sony took out the memory stick slots when PS3 is suppose to be basically a media hub, so basically you pay 400 for a model with 2 less USB inputs and no memory stick media slots? and the same goes for 160gig model. Im guessing this is why even the 60gig refurbs are still going for a lot on ebgames.com and on ebay.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
