I will purchase this title if it is a sci-fi based one, I for one am tired of fantasy MMO's

dreamtheater876205d ago

So it's a new IP then. Hmmm wonder what it could be. It can't be sci-fi, I would have thought they'd just use Starcraft if they were going to go in that direction. And obviously it won't be fantasy again. What could it be?!

karlowma6205d ago

I suspect it will still be high fantasy, maybe even something more traditional. I would love to see something with a bit more basis in reality too though. Something like DAoC, which was based on a real time period. That same period, done by Blizzard, would be great I'm sure (until the expansions start rolling out).

maybe they should finish diablo

dreamtheater876204d ago

^^^ They have hundreds of staff to focus on many different projects all at once. If all that staff were to devoted to Diablo 3 then it could be a bad thing. Too many chefs in the kitchen.

I don't remember that many real world MMO's, a bit like Fallout 1 or 2(earlier time line) I just want some more believale RPG/MMO games, SCI-FI and Fanatasy Medi evil are over used much like WW2 in shooters.

Why can't you just be a normal person(except health etc) and some nukes go off and there you start, instead of fireballs etc you have skill branches like mechanic, doctor, soldier... you can use weapons but each new weapon you pick up you won't be able to use as well but over time you know aout it and you improve with it.

Why not? That could as the basics make a fairly decent RPG/MMO.

karlowma6205d ago

Sounds like a game I play a lot... every day even. can't remember what it's called though...

mrv3216204d ago

Ok, not like life, but life skills, imagine sims+world disaster.

For example you won't be going to the pub or anything... just your training mission at the start is life, shooting is you shooting using a BB gun, fixing is you and a toy car etc, then you have this CG cutscene entailling the disaster and how thing changed then the game post distaster.

Bastion6205d ago

the reason they have not done that for an MMO, is because generally that would suck

Perjoss6204d ago

there are really good at kepping things secret, I dont remember the last time i saw a bliz news story with the word 'leaked' in the title, if ever.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing57d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9257d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit57d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing57d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9257d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
