New Suikoden Inbound

Konami recently filed for a trademark for a brand new Suikoden title which is perhaps in development for the current generation.

Wildarmsjecht6182d ago

The one on the DS was trash. It wasn't even in the Suikoden Universe. The only similarities it shared was that you were called to find the 108 Stars of Destiny. Whatever Suikoden this is, hope it goes back to its roots.

I enjoyed Tierkreis but it was too different from the original games

Lucreto6182d ago

I liked Tierkreis it was not one of my favourite games of the series but I enjoyed the story and there was some interesting characters.

Does anyone recognise the voice of Diulf I think it is either Paul Eiding or Edward James Olmos. I believe it is Eiding though.

I call Wii. Runner-up guess is PSN / XBLA, like the new Vandal Hearts game Konami's releasing.

gaffyh6182d ago

I call DS, would be very surprised if it's for next-gen systems.

rockleex6181d ago

It lives up to Suikoden 2's epicness!!

GameGambits6181d ago

FINALLY! My want for a Suikoden 6 has been insane. That Suikoden Tiekrisis(however ya spell that load of BS) for the DS was a dissapointment. They took out the runes in that and set it in an alternate universe. They could've just labeled it something else honestly, because Suikoden without runes isnt Suikoden.

I hope it's for PS3 and 360. As much as I favor games being on the PS3 so that they can reach new heights technically I have a friend who loves this series to death as much as I do who only has a 360. I own a 360 also, but I'd get the PS3 version personally. :) I want my buddy to enjoy this.

I can't wait for Tokyo Game Show for them to unveil this! It will be EPIC! :D

SixTwoTwo6182d ago

Damn I hope to god its PS360 and not a spinoff.

Lucreto6182d ago

I hope it is for the PS3 but I can settle for multiplatform. I am a Suikoden Fanboy. I would die if it went to the Wii.

Gamer_Politics6182d ago

it will be multiplat like mostly every other Konami title this gen....thats only if isnt handheld based...

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle31d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

jznrpg37d ago

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Smellsforfree37d ago

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Loktai37d ago

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde38d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

Soy38d ago

And then MK1 killed it again.

DivineHand12538d ago (Edited 38d ago )

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
