Splinter Cell's why too advanced!.

its been proven plenty of time the ps3 has alot of potential its the developers fault if teamn ninja can run a game at 1080p at 60fps and selfshading its not the Ps3's fault its ubisofts

I am sure most of the readers, including both sides of fanboys agreed on the following two statements:

1. PS3 and Xbox360 are about equally strong but they have very different architectures (this is GENERAL statement, ps3 processor stronger, xbox GPU stronger, whatever, u know the old arguments, but stay with me though, don't flame yet).

2. Splincter's Cell did NOT push the boundaries of either machine. (as compare say Gears of wars/Bioshock or Hevenly Sword/RachetClank footage we have see so far (I guess the most update to date stuff i can use to cmpare on the 360), which ever game you are comparing to side by side)

Now if those above two points are true, in essence, both machine should be able to Re-create the Splincter Cell's world in equality in theory, if NOT better on the PS3 due to its extra development time (you can agrue that programmers are not as familia with Cell processor).

Now if you believe 1 and 2 to be true, why argue about this score? Is it the problem with PS3 hardware in way that it is inadequate to output the same qaulity?

think Oblivion, many ppl think the PS3 version is probably the 'better' version, those guys really did try to max out as far as they can at the amount of time they had.

I think if you have stay through my reasoning thus far and put down all your flame shields and think through everything quite calmly you will see that the only difference here that can affect this above-average game that pushed no boundaries are due to the difference in programming and architecture, and not in the difference in the power of the machine.

So this is a lazy port, like many other. There is no need for PS3 players to defend this any further, and of course, Xbox players are not gona grow more meat for winning the argument either right?

For how long? And you have one multiplatform game, Oblivion, to prove your case? A game that came a full year after the 360 version? If the 360 version had that extra time and launched simultanously I bet ya the 360 version would look better then the PS3 version.

The game looks crappy for the ps3,don`t buy it so next time they will learn how to better port games.

The rule(s) seem to be:

1. If its developed first on the 360 and ported to the PS3, chances are the PS3 version will be inferior.

2. If its developed first on the PS3 and ported to the 360, chances are the 360 version will be inferior.

3. Most current gen titles will be coded on the 360 and ported to the PS3.

Basically, you want the best version for multi-platform games then buy the Xbox 360. If you hanging out for the handful of exclusives on a given platform then buy that platform. This continuous bashing of the other persons system is pointless and its not going to make anyone jump from one system to the other. For pure gaming Xbox provides a better solution due to its current price point. For those who disagree, fine, I don't give a sh*t as you're not going to convince me of otherwise just like my point has not done for you.

As usual, we have the ignorant comparing a port of a game(optimized on one system) to another(not optimized). Developers have had xbox 360 much longer than ps3 and know how to achieve the full potential of that system. It will be at least another year or two before we see the sheer power of Ps3.

However, there are developers who still know enough to produce great games like Virtual Fighter, Resistance and Motorstorm. As they gain more experience with Ps3, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2 will simply rock all.

Killzone2 won't look as good as the trailer but Killzone3 will, once the system is mastered.

So stop being TWITS by comparing ports unless the developers have achieved the full potential with BOTH machines, not just one. If the same game gets a different score then they obviously haven't.

On a side note - Splinter Cell has always rocked - mainly due to the amount of effort put into the sound engineering - simply amazing sound FX. This one was good too - but let's face it, old fish now.

you guys keep talking about ONCE developers get use to developing with the cell the games will blow away xbox360 games, thats crazy an you guys know it. the Cell can not make the graphics better than what the RSX can produce, an we all know the xbox gpu is better than the Ps3 gpu, its been stated many times.now once developers figure out how to get ALL 3 identical cores of the 360 to run the best, I still dont think the PS3 is gonna out do it!! I agree developers needs time to figure out the CELL but at the same time they also need to get use to programing for a triple core processor. an dont forget the xbox mas a bigger memory pool because its not split!!

Splinter Cell is one of the best franchise around. Consistenly getting high reviews. The ps3 is just a mess to develop for. I see why Ubisoft decided to bring the next Splinter Cell to the 360. Oh well...sucks to be a ps3 owner.

They have no reason to lie. The developers has a very long time to make a better product but they could not. So what if you do not like the bad reviews get the console that get the most good reviews or just get them both.

But since you mentioned that i could mention that the PS2 had so many problems. But still none the less it was a good console. As for calling someone a Microsoft puppet, your as much of a puppet for sony as they are for Microsoft. Quit being such a hypocrite.

AS for this game, its not the end of the world.

I know alot of X360 users on this website act the same way when a game looks better on PS3 they say things like

"THEY HAD THIS MUCH AMOUNT OF TIME TO MAKE THE GAME BETTER"

All these damn people cannot just except things why is it so hard to believe that some games will look better on PS3 and some games look better on X360????

The game looks better on the 360, that's it. No-one cares why, a consumer see's a better looking game and buys that version.

Lied about Madden being better on the XBox 360 version when they just changed the day time on the PS3 Madden version so this goes to show any website can do that to multiplatform games and even switch names for the PS3 title and the XBox 360 title and putting them on Splinter Cell. and make people think that the Splinter Cell version of the XBox 360 is better when its not and making the Splinter Cell version of the PS3 not better.

1. RSX (a highly underestimated piece of hardware that many idiots thank that 180s garbage chip is more powerful than just because of ram but im curious if thats so true i would highly doubt they would make such a weak chip to be able to cooperate with the power of a supercomputer thats like the part in Dragon Ball Z when goku was fighting buu and had to choose to fuse with if he would have chosen Hercule you see goku was a super saiyan 3 and couldnt use a person that had a powerlevel under 200 they would be incompatible there is something secret about the RSX that isnt on paper and trust me it will over last 10 years they even said the hardware some kind of way grows as it ages thats just for the cell and the RSX not the bootleg 180 hardware or even pcs so next time you make a comment about the RSX think about the games that are on the ps3 in the first 5 months of its life cycle like motorstorm and formula 1 and even resistance that cannot be done on the 180 im drueling to see what is to come for this monster down the line and even for the rest of 2007. CELL ( i hear you say that the 180s chip is more optimized for gaming and that some kinda way you came up with a bogus idea like what is it called zenos was more powerful than cell a you mustve really been on that crystal meth and extacy when you came up with that who is paying you and the people who originaly come up with these hopes and dreams of yours they are quite funny saying the 180 is more powerful or can produce more powerful graphics than the ps3 is like saying united states is bigger than russia i dont see the 180s graphic chip or cpu being used in medical work and for ray tracing it originaly required a cluster of highly powered computers to produce the resources needed to do medical research and the new tech ray tracing but thanks to the ps3 that has been eliminated oh and pc people you think your big bad pcs that have very high LOOKING specs have really surpassed the ps3 WRONG WRONG SO WRONG just because they may cost more doesnt ever mean more power and besides why try to judge something that you didnt build if your information is so right then you are saying your even smarter than the japanese that built the machine along with IBM and NVIDIA i gat news for ya you aint not close americans have never been smarter than the japanese for instance they come in our own American schools and outperform us and in there own countries and wherever else they go they easily outsmarted the americans in pearl harbor what more can i say for one i can say that how do you expect an american hardware maker to come up with smarter stronger hardware, what they gonna do use money resources aint gonna help some people even say that the ps3 hardware is old WRONG WRONG WRONG WRonG even if the hardware was built close to 2 years ago the japanese technology is far beyond our own tell me what american has built a supercomputer on a chip i will answer it for you no one there cities even look far more advanced than ours and they are an older part of the world than us we would have an excuse if the indians were still on top and in charge but no excuses ps3 is technology of the future, the cell still has 15 years of life in it just for the current ps3 yes dissagree all you want but it is true it is the true next gen.

3. Blue Ray ( now the biggest mistake to the idiot mind but to a genious like sony this time around is going to lead to 4d real time graphics ill explain:

- cell a supercomputer (supercomputers are the machines behind movies and cg films and produce the closest things to real life graphic rendering this is a giant part in the ps3 reaching the 4d era let me tell you the truth when killzone 2 surpassed the trailer the system is still just getting started they are litteraly tickling the ps3s heart at this point and i have proof in e3 05 the killzone 2 footage was shown and yes it wasnt real time but it was to ps3 spec it was a representation of what a game would look like if the right money and time and minds were put into the ps3 guerilla games will be the first to put money time and minds into the ps3 with 120 developers and 21 million dollars with a movie making machine you must have movie making money to make movie level graphics and please dont try and say that the 180 can do the same because it is maxed out glitches of ware did that and they spent over 40 million dollars total on that Bill Gates even said glitches of ware is what the 180 is built for meaning its all the hardware was built to withstand this is why sony called the 360 a 180 because since thats the best the machine can come up with then it really is 180 please it would be in your best interest to stop comparing the 180 with ps3 and start comparing it to the wii and even pc now killzone was being rendered to a ps3s incomplete spec neither the cell nor the rsx were complete and blue ray was being finallized and was only using 80% ps3 output and it is documented i even have recently heard that someone has seen the latest build of killzone 2 and definately looks better than the trailer sony will wipe unbelievers out shortly oh and did i mention that the ps3s finalized hardware came out stronger than anticipated not only that but ps3s hardware is getting stronger because ps3s folding home numbers have ascended ps3 has no limit no this as far as graphics go ps3 is the roof and over the roof understand.

-Blue Ray ( this is what many people see as stupid and unneeded but it is very needed more so than you know its main purpose is not movies but much more of the bleeding edge graphics that rest inside the sole of the ps3 the intention of sony with the new playstation this time around was to eliminate the need of cutscenes and make them availible while playing or make the gameplay indistinguishable with the cutscenes this could only be done with the help of the blue ray think of it why is every ps3 game on a blue ray disk its not the high definition i assure you that soon ps3 will have games that will look so good it wont need HD but blue ray + RSX + Cell = 4d sometime down the road it will happen talk trash all you will but when a developer steps up and is willing to make a say 60 million dollar game on the ps3 you will see why ps3 is beyond next gen and beyond 3d.

In the end you will see sony's sacrifice pay of they are riding their industry on this machine it will not fail.

The original Xbox version of Double Agent (essentially Chaos Theory 2) is 10x better than the 360 version. Better story, more choices, no daytime action missions.

Just need the 4 original Xbox games & NCAAF 14, & all my backwards compatible needs will be satisfied.
