BioWare Working on 'Unannounced AAA Project'?

This week, information surfaced that the prestigious shop may be working on yet another all-new IP. During one of its semiregular sweeps of the Internet, Superannuation picked up on the resume of a developer who worked as the "Principle [sic] Lead Designer" of "an unannounced 'AAA' project" at BioWare.

I reckon it'll be a PS3 exclusive as no doubt Sony has been "in talks" with Bioware. Plus EA seem to sucking up to Sony recently.

I remember going on the post Mass effect ski trip with them in jasper. They are some talented people, but if you haven't noticed they like their pc/xbox, considering it's the only platforms they've develop for.

I don't even think they're doing the dragon age game for ps3. I think that's another ea dev covering the port...

I was thinking about it yesterday.I remember in 2008 they said that Jade Empire 2 was being developed.

But they havnt said anything since, havent even mentioned it.

The 1st one on the xbox was pretty good.I dont imagine a Next Gen version, it would be crazy.

Oh guys don't get me wrong, I don't want it to be a PS3 exclusive! I don't own a PS3! I just think it's something that it likely to happen.

@^: Jade Empire 2 would be great, I reckon if it's that it will be multiplatform.

hey pukeface I'm not insulting Bioware in any way. I have both Baldur's Gate with the expansions, KOTOR1&2, Jade Empire and Mass Effect but I reckon Sony's going to get something from them in some form and being owned by EA isn't going to help them any.

I hope not it's not PS3 exclusive. I don't mind playing a Bioware game on my PS3, but I prefer PC. I'm already kinda annoyed at Bioware for not focusing more on the PC. Business is business, but I get frustrated when as soon as they start making console games, their PC fans start getting second-class treatment like delayed ports (KOTOR, Jade Empire, ME). At least Dragon Age used PC as the lead platform this time around. I remember when it was going to drop first for the PC then later for consoles. Now it's simultaneous, which is great for everybody.

I don't need the game to be PC exclusive or anything. Is it too much to ask that we at least get more simultaneous releases of a game that's coming to PC anyway? Thanks.

The new MMO looks interesting, but I don't have the time to play one and pay month to month for an hour or two a week of playtime. A true KOTOR sequel would be highly appreciated.

Perhaps, you missed the part of the article that said "new IP" not Mass Effect 2.

Though, I can see your point in a way, I still disagree with you Gump.
Mass Effect 2 has a 99.5 % chance at being a AAA title. Look how well Mass Effect did despite the technical issues with the game. Bioware claims they have rid the game, Mass Effect 2, of these technical issues. Not to mention that you can clearly see in this early build that the visuals surpass Mass Effect by quite a bit. And an already stable frame rate locked a t 60 fps, I believed bioware claimed. From watching the videos posted up, you see how the combat is more "streamlined" and looks great to me.

People who dont understand What AAA are buncha suckers who leach up hype games. Even GTA4 is a AAA games.... naww to many bugs/ gitch.

A lot of people have bastardized the term AAA to mean that the game will be critically acclaimed.

This is not true at all. A Triple A game is a game that has high production costs.

Even Too Human was a AAA title, because it cost around 90 million from MS to make, and even though it was critically mixed, the game is a AAA.

So yes, you can refer to a game that is in production or will be in production as a AAA title if you are aware of the game's production value. With Bioware, I assume they might have heavy backers so maybe the game will be AAA.

Usually, the prestigious dev studios make AAA titles. Bungie makes AAA titles. Even if Halo 3 sucked balls, which I'm not saying it did, then the game would still be a AAA title because of the ginormous costs.

Yes, PLEASE. I really REALLY want a single-player KOTOR to finish out Revan's story, I hate seeing it brushed to the side to set the stage for an MMO.

I wouldn't hold my breath on that IP if I were you. Since they're now working on SW: The Old Republic, you can expect Bioware to stick with it. KOTOR III, will probably never happen. Obsidian may pick it up, but doubtful.

When you said bungie is a good developer that turns stuff into gold laughed seriously bungie is the 1 trick pony and oni was just a horrid game with crappy controll scheme halo is advertised like its the second coming of jesus. They are nowhere near the status of pure aaa gaming quality.

And does that matter to you? I've read enough of your posts to know that you're a Sony fanboy. Like I said in a previous post, AAA status refers to the development costs of the game, not necessarily the quality of the game. You people have bastardized the definition to fit your own agenda. The development costs of Halo 3 are enough evidence to suggest that Halo 3 was a AAA title, as was Too Human with its 90 million dollar budget (yes the game sucked, but AAA nonetheless.)

And why do you keep picking on Bungie. Do you know that Bungie has developed other games other than Oni and the Halo series? Marathon? Myth?

What if I mention all the one trick ponies that Sony employs?
