im not buying this game i would have probably gotten the game when it went to the bargain bin

maybe it could be like halo 3 subscription somethin optional hopefully. wat halo 3 subscription does is nothing more but give you more of the same features so its only a option to get the same features but more, but i hope IW does not do it like an mmo if it does they lucky i want MW2 so bad that im willing to pay for it

If there is a subscription fee for Modern Warfare 2, I definately will NOT buy this game. I will buy MAG a week later and play with 255 other players for free. I am sure a lot of PS3 owners will feel the same way too.

Now THIS. THIS is 100% Activision Bullshit. God damn those freaking bastards. Its already enough we're getting like 6 Guitar Hero a year. I swear if it wasnt for Infinity Ward this publisher would be trash. This just really pisses me off. I have no fuc*ing idea why IW signed for Acivision again, wtf.

No thanks IW and Activision. The only way I would consider paying a subscription is if it was for an MMO-like persistent world, which MW2 isn't. They would have to come up with many more perks and actually make the game worth playing after you max your level. I know I'm in the minority but Prestige mode does nothing for me.

Reading the article no where does it say that MW2 IS getting subscription fee's. This is:

A) An attempt to get hits on a site.
B) More rumor.

It clearly says that a survey is being taken and that future CoD's or a future CoD MMO could have subscription fee's.

On a side note, to join in on the rage, I'll go on the record to state that would be crap to charge us when they are already announcing 2 map packs before the game is even out! :(

I got a PS3 for one very huge reason, no fee for PSN. You want to have a fee for your game? I wont buy it. Plus what about xbox users? They would have to pay for live on top of your fee? Makes no sense to me at all, neither side wins.

Doesn't really matter to me though, this will be the first call of duty I am skipping. Not that the game itself is bad, but I need to take a break from FPS games.

This is just garbage to get more hits and traffic. Its a survey people, there is no one saying it will have a subscription.

First off, this is only speculation based off of a survey. Second, the speculation suggested that it could be a collector style bonus...so maybe not even a month to month ordeal. Finally...without knowing the price, there is no way of knowing whether this would be a better deal than purchasing map packs. Honestly..I am wonder what kind of content would be added on a regular basis that would entice people to pay..

Now this is just a plain bad idea.

COD MW2 having a subscription based online system would just make everyone go to MAG or play something else. I for one have already noticed that online communities while still active don't hold the attention of casual people long enough to warrant shelling out more money for a game (killzone 2, R2) on a monthly basis. The majority of gamers will not buy it out of spite and hardcore COD fans will pay. Will that be enough for them though? I for one enjoy the game but, I really do not like online playing as much as I used to. People glitching, non team players, mouthy children, and rude adults ruin it for me. One of the major reasons I stopped paying for Live (Plus PS3 is free). So i would not pay for it and than probably just wait for the game to lower in price b4 buying.

No no no no no!. Map packs are bad enough but subscriptions? No FPS has EVER warrented subscriptions to play. I can deal with 1 off micro transactions, but a constant subscription is shocking.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
