Another interesting topic, written by PS3-News.co.uk

So where would you put the next GTA, your area, your country? Let's have an argument.

www.PS3-news.co.uk have posted these locations:

Las Vegas
London
Alabama
Moscow

Take your pick, add to the list or debate at PS3-news.

It would be nice to go back to that setting.

Lifendz6156d ago (Edited 6156d ago )

The Getaway already did it. I'd like a GTA in Japan. Or maybe in Sydney Australia. Somewhere out of the U.S. preferably.

Miami aka Vice City was already done. Not sure I'd want it done again unless they take it back to the 80s again. No, I think I'd rather go with a new locale.

Elven66156d ago

GTA did London LONG before The Getaway did dude, they can rightfully go back and not be called a "copy cat". If you want to go by that logic then Yakuza did Japan.

Lifendz6156d ago

meaning open world 3d gameplay. Not top down 2d play. Sheesh, I guess you have to qualify everything you say on N4G or someone will come in to refute you.

But good stuff bro. And yes, while I know wanting GTA in Japan opens me to the "yakuza did it" I don't care. I want GTA in Japan.

SnuggleBandit6156d ago

dude needs some grammar lessons...there is a BIG difference between *defiantly* and *definitely*

But a return to vegas would be awesome in HD. I also liked the idea of Detroit.

bnaked6156d ago (Edited 6156d ago )

LA with a street to Las Vegas..

colonel1796156d ago

maybe... AGENT is the new GTA set during the 70's. I mean it's being developed by R* North...

It's a new IP, I know, but could be de definite GTA with a new name...

*puffs*

EpicGamerSwordsman6156d ago

Would be pretty cool, looking at the Hong kong metro in HD on a GTA Game would be sweet! or Mexico City :)

Jack Meahoffer6156d ago

I'd like to see a San Andreas type setting but instead of the US they do EU with cities that are based on various European cities. London, Paris, Berlin and Amersterdam maybe. That would be awesome.

Defectiv3_Detectiv36156d ago

or Amsterdam, now there is a location synonamous w/ debauchery. GTA really does need to go to a foriegn setting already though. It would be fun to drive on the wrong side of the road, or to drive wrong on the right side of the road, same difference.

SinnedNogara6156d ago

Liberty City and several cities, towns, and other places around it, like San Andreas.

menoyou6156d ago

It would be amazing if it was in Vice City exclusive to PS3 so they could model the ENTIRE metropolitan area accurately with every building and such possible because of the space that Blu-ray has. That would be absolutely amazing.

cmrbe6156d ago

but Agent already has that excellent for us PS3 owners.

Watching Life On Mars really made me want a GTA back in the 70's but we got Agent.

gamesR4fun6156d ago

Imagine gta with hover boards n rocket cars XD

specialguest6156d ago

Why not create a GTA that allows you to travel to major cities around the world? See what I did there? ha!

BiggCMan6156d ago

reading all these suggestions makes me think...maybe it should take you around the world you know? im sure it would be exceptionally hard but that would be incredible.

theEnemy6156d ago

It'll only show that Rockstar ain't creative enough.

Vice City was done. infact has been used for like 2 GTAs already (Vice City, and Vice City Stories). Give it a rest.

- -

Would be fun if the new location will have SNOW on it.

AAACE56156d ago

GTA: 90210...LOL!

You can get mad and go postal when they mess up your order of sushi, or put out a hit on your parents when they try to make you start paying your own bills!

Nah seriously... I wondered how a GTA: Windy City would have come out, but then again, that rumored MMO GTA: World sounds good as well!

RememberThe3576156d ago

It's always raining, people are both really nice and f*ckin rude, lots of hills, great skyline, great scenery. It's perfect here!

50CALheadshot6156d ago (Edited 6156d ago )

whereever it is the story will be funny as hell

ThanatosDMC6156d ago

After San Andreas, i cant go back...

San Andreas with updated graphics and physics, but let's be either a stereotypical Mexican, Indian, or Asian guy...

FarEastOrient6156d ago

Hong Kong!!

Excellent cityscape, triads, syndicates, other Asian gangs, and other minority groups working in the city including the English (Americans and UK). Along with the Communist government over the nation and a very Democratic city/province this can be a hotbed of gaming.

Plus the triads and syndicates can make the mafias look like an after school club.

Fencefry6156d ago

(well, the GTA version of it). That would be awesome :D

cherrypie6155d ago

The next GTA game is The Ballad of Gay Tony.

And, just like Lost and the Damned, it is going to be terrific fun.

allegionary6155d ago

Please lets not go where we've been before and please somewere outside the US!!!

I vote for Rome. There could be some cool diveristy there.

Or more obscurely but cool would be Tallin, Estonia.

Or Prague.

Somewhere with buildings that aren't mostly high rise rectangles!!

JOLLY16156d ago

I would love to see it in a Seattle type environment. 5 out of every 6th person has a cupf of coffee. A whole city full of people thinking that everything everyone does is a direct insult to them. There would be some completely funny moments.

Lifendz6156d ago

Lived out there for 2 years. Was stationed in Ft. Lewis. Loved it out there. Yeah, driving around I5 and maybe down to Tacoma would be sweet.

ThatArtGuy6156d ago

when it's plugged to a dead stop with traffic. I also don't appreciate the 6 inch grooves steering my car for me.

RememberThe3576156d ago

Na, they don't have any sports teams :)

ThatArtGuy: That's what happens when you decide to use asphalt on you freeways... Great choice WSDOT...

This city is just f*cked up enough to fit perfectly with GTA.

velaxun6155d ago

^ You've never heard of the VANCOUVER Canucks?

Lifendz6156d ago

then again maybe we both just want Yakuza on PS3. But a Tokyo GTA would be sweetttttt. Especially if you can go out into the country of Japan and away from the city from time to time.

Bubbles for all who contribute a new and interesting locale.

KKanjiAnkh6156d ago

Gotta agree w/you both bubbles +

I'd say you start off in the U.K ala Guy Richie style, then you collect passports to other personafied countries.

Japan would be 1st, then maybe China, to kinda keep the Tie in ability to other GTA's.

It would be sick if the Down Low Cash consisted of a new country.

LOL IDK, but yeah Japan would kill it.

Lifendz6156d ago (Edited 6156d ago )

Hmmm...interesting. Almost half the pop is unemployed. Very dark and grimey inner city type environment. Could work. Good idea. I think Detroit could be interesting. They could even do it where you drive into Canada from time to time. Snow effects in a GTA game would be crazy. You guys are coming up with some good stuff.

Dimitrius6156d ago

Caribbean for me. Think about it. Jamaica is a drug island where you can find anything you want and even legally(lenguage: english, music: reggae). Then is Cuba, a caribbean island influenced by Russia with a lot of classic style (lenguage: spanish, music:salsa). Dominican Rep.and Haity, two contries tougheter in the same island. Haity is the poores contry in the americas where you will find deserts, suburbanite places, bikes, home made guns, corrupted polititians, etc (lenguage: creole/frensh, music: afroamerican music). Dominican Republic will have: golf tracs, nice cars, drug dealers, speed racing, clubs, etc (lenguage: spanish, music: merenge and actual modern music). Last but not least Puerto Rico: a place dominated by the USA culture, great city, tall buldings, more like a Vice City place because its similarity with Miami, big Airport, cruises, filled with lights, hot women, night life, and many more (lenguage: english/spanish, music: reggaeton/ actual modern music). There you have it; five contries, four islands, five lenguage, and lot of different cultures. Placed in the '90 time frame or even erlies 2000. Character name: Juan

SnuggleBandit6156d ago

btw weed IS illegal in jamaica and you definitely don't want to be caught with a whole lot of it down there by anyone

YoungJuvi6156d ago

It would be sweet if GTA took place in Jamaica, too much win.

Hideo Kojima put Low Roar in Death Stranding because gamers need more culture in their lives

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.
