Prototype is a sandbox game along the lines of games like Crackdown where you can do whatever you want whenever you want. Of course there is a story mixed in with all of this as well with Alex trying to figure out who he is and what has happened to him. Throughout the course of your adventure, you'll be taking on countless amounts of so-called inhabitants of what's left of New York City who are in specific buildings called hives.
