Video game to movie translations can make you weary. Most of them are nothing short of terrible. Ghostbusters hopes to break this mold by putting as much effort and craft into it as you'd see on the silver screen. The end result is a star-studded action game that looks great, plays great, and might very well be the best video game based on a movie franchise yet. Yes, I said the best. I cannot think of another game which has been able to do what Ghostbusters The Video Game has done.

It isn’t a masterpiece of a game, and neither was the movie, but it reminds us again that it is ok for entertainment to just be entertaining. It is a game that deserves to be remastered and remembered. And 35 years later, it also serves to remind us that a remaster doesn’t always need to be Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott. Sometimes, Ray Parker Jr. is exactly who you need to call."
