... NOT! Sony is too dumb to drop the price on their over-priced PoS. Consumers are speaking with their wallets and are buying a Wii for a great price or a 360 for an even better price.

Your still here? Shame... your bringing down this place which take allot of work. The damage you done to humanity and evolution is one I will not forgive you for.

360 is at an awsome price... yes it is. But the reason should become clear with this comparison.

Pretend for a moment gaming consolle are cars.

The Wii is a small bare boned car like the smart... it'll get you to point B and is a fun experience on the way
The 360 is a banger the engine is faulty and this particular model doesn't come with wheels for these extra feature like wireless and online gaming you must pay extra.
The PS3 is a bently, it's the biggest most stylish is reliable it'll do the same jobs as the others but you get soo many features for only a little extra

$199 360 shouldn't they be working on making those things work for more than a year before it gets RRoD or E74(WHICH is RRoD just Microsoft changed it to avoid the 3 year warranty)

Wii is a Honda. It's reliable, and its what most people want.
360 is a Kia. Built with cheaper parts to make it more affordable but not as reliable as a Honda.
PS3 is an amphibious car. Has two main functions. One which most people dont care for that hinders the other abilities of the car and holds it back. Its difficult to drive and hard to repair because its too damn difficult to work on.

Your analogy was flawed because everything you need to play a 360 comes in the box. Do you really think that the 360 is useless without Wifi? If so do you really need to comment on a gamer site?

mrv3216196d ago

How about online play? Is that straight out of the box? How about unlimited batteries because the 360 runs out of batteries quicker labour looses votes.

Both of those are seen as fairly standard...

The ability to play online
and
The ability to use a controller.

The cheapest 360 doesn't even come with a hard drive and you need them in order to install games to stop the engine or a disk drive.

You can play a game without paying a dime extra but to ACTUALLY use the game to a level which is seen a standard then you have to pay close to £70

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

This game along with Rogue Squadron got me into to Star Wars. The release of special edition VHS Star Wars collection was perfectly times on top of all that. 😆

Redgrave70d ago

Because it is.

Please re-release this.

SimpleSlave70d ago (Edited 70d ago )

But it wasn't. Although I do agree that some of the tie-in media, like the novels and comics, were pretty good.

Still, games like Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Rogue Squadron, and the space sims were peak 90s Star Wars. Shadows fell flat because of the abysmal controls and unimaginative levels. And if you wanted to really experience the seedy side of the universe, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 was peak, and it wasn't even close.

Regardless, and much to my dismay, we got the better version thanks to Ubislop in Outlaws, which is what Shadows should've been, albeit at a smaller scale.
