Not being a fanboy, but still playing infamous, so unless I start hearing more consistent ratings, i'll check it out.

I am 5 hours in and I am having a blast, once you start buying upgrades the fun increases exponentially :D

Consuming random people on the street never gets old :P

I played this game its really fun but graphically its really bad with ps2 or even ps1 graphics but its really intense with a lot of action .

Game left a really bad taste in my mouth.

inFamous is the best open world adventure so far this year I can't deny that.

The title Prototype fits this game perfectly because it definitely feels unfinished.

Bought this game last night, the gameplay thus far is amazing and very rewarding when you advance and obtain new powers. Graphics are obviously going to be a let down to some, but I dont think most people understand the magnitude of carnage going on at any one time.

I think its just technically not possible to have so much action running at higher res with tonnes of filters, they had the choice of

a) epic scale battles with average graphics or
b) average scale battles with epic graphics

I'm glad they chose "a"

Knowing Gamespot, I had figured that they would have rated it lower. But it seems that they did like it. This game is getting reviews ranging from 7s (only a couple I believe) to high 9s. Very confusing.

From the numerous gameplay videos I have watched and the live-streaming play, I feel like the game could be very fun. However, I feel like it could also get old by the time you beat the game. I just don't think I'd want to put 60 dollars down for it, is all.

I keep hearing the quality / graphics / finishing touches are somewhat below par, but not stellar. But the destruction and gore is over the top. One thing is for certain, the game is definitely supposed to be fun and a blast, even if it is a bit shallow beyond that. I just beat inFamous and I already miss it, so maybe this could fill the gap? Anyone else in my shoes?

The game is chaotically fun but I don't think it's worth full price. A couple price drops yes, but not now.

I finished Infamous and trust me, it's almost impossible to even play Infamous after you've experienced Proto.

It's literally a beast of a game dudes, just buy it and have a blast.

But also what i feel from the footage =/ may feel fun for some, but i really don't enjoy mindless havoc as its been described to have (and seems like it through videos)

If they make it look a little more varied than "destroying everything and killin everyone on a city crossroad" which is what it looks like ALMOST EVERY TIME - then i'll consider it...

I liked this review, they didn't try it compare it to inFAMOUS and reviewed it as it's own game. With that said inFAMOUS > Prototype IMO

But this game is kick ass. The graphics are fantastic considering how much is going on. Infamous had too many jaggies compared to this game and when I hear Infamous looks better, I know that is bull sh1t. The smoke, fire and explosions are sick! Tons and I mean tons of blood. I like when it splashes on the screen. :)

The game play is addictive. You can play missions or free to roam. With the click and hold of the R2 button you can sprint and rn up buildings. The game play is fun and well worth it. If you start creating havoc in the streets the people actually get scared are start running away, not just stand there and look at you. If you use some weird powers and not hurt anyone, they will look at you weird.

One of the best parts is when you consume someone.... that is sweet!

The weapons, vehicles and powers are sweet. It has a RPG element to it.

I have both game and both games are different and great in their own ways. I recommend picking it up and trying it for yourself. For the most part the reviews have been great. From 4 out of 5's to 8 out of 10's and up.

Thats an accurate review. I wish you could jump higher (kidding). I still prefer inFamous though. Mainly because it mixed excellent platforming with a sandbox game. Although Mercer>Cole.

I really is not that big a deal when you think about it.I do believe that now as much attention was given to Prototype as Infamous was given. I just got it to day and I am amazed at the city. It looks so much like a city. The neon signs, the trash on the ground, the metallic look. It even sounds likea city. I looks like it was truly made for Cole. How ever Prototype looks like they said "Here is your character and here is some kind a city or something. Now run around and do stuff." He isn't even a superhero. His whole mission seems to be as big a douche bag as possible.Kill all the soldiers, eat innocent people and curse as much as possible while destroying the city. It's so self serving.
Anyway it's no big deal. Not buying Prototype would not be as big a crime as people seem to think. Their are lots of games coming out that look like they have better potential then Prototype does. Buy it if you want, but I am saving my money for Batman AA, Bayonetta, Fat Princess, Tekken 6 and Uncharted 2

Remember Infamous has gotten between 7 to 10 at all times. Prototype has already gotten a 5, a 2 and a 6.Plus it has also gotten scores lower than Infamous. 8.5 on Gamespot instead of 9.0 and 4/5 on X-play instead of 5/5. Doesn't bode well for Radical

for all the people who say the graphics are ps2 quality try turning your ps2 on put gta san andreas or gta 3 then put prototype on and compare them side by side.poor ps2 looks pretty crap now,bless it.

I love the game and I recommend it to any fan of open world action games. If you love inFAMOUS, you will love Prototype. Prototype is receiving some biased reviews in my opinion. After playing it, I'm so glad I bought it. Some reviews ripped it which is so unfair. Free Radical did an amazing job with the game. I give them an "A" for the job they did in realizing their vision for the game. Great game, don't listen to the bad reviews. Prototype looks just as good as inFAMOUS with no framerate drops and very little screen tearing with an insane amount of action and characters on screen.

I just want to say also that I was totally on the fence with this game as I already played through inFAMOUS completey(only once as evil cole) and I didn't want to buy a game that wasn't as good. Prototype blew my mind and I'm so glad I took the gamble on the game. If you're like me, just buy the game because it's worth it, you won't be disappointed.

no way graphics on prototype are as good as infamous!!!!!! are you playing the same prototype as me?????/ infamous is just far superior than prototype...and yes i played both. infamous is the king of sandbox superhero games!!!!!! nuff said.

now guys no one is saying prototype sucks....if this game wasnt released near infamous it would probably be rated higher because after playing infamous first prototype just doesnt cut the mustard....its a good game but infamous defines super hero games!!!! everything in infamous is good from story to graphics to the gameplay....prototype is bloodier snd wilder but the graphics are lame compared to infamous so is the story and music and dont get me started on the controls!!!! prototype is too complicated you will get used to it but its kinda hard to do all your moves!!!! im having a good time playing proto but im enjoying infamous more. ps3 owners get infamous instead and xbox owners have no choice but to stick with prototype.
