The reviews are very positive, it's averaging 93 on the PS3 metacritic.

The IGN 7.5 is only listed on the 360 section and brings the average there down to 87. Still, the reviews are overwhelmingly positive at this stage. Don't let one so-so review influence your decision.

That Prototype basicly is getting points taken off from a techincal point of view (textures not next gen enough) however, if you look at the game as a whole....there is so much going on screen with loads of vehicles, dozens of enemies and blood, gore, and particle effects that there just is not enough RAM left over for next gen textures. How do I know this, its because the developer Radical was talented enough to make Hulk:UD a 720p HD game on the original Xbox and very very few developers could do that last generation.

So, I am sure they did the best they could with their current engine. But I think alot of gamers that give Prototype a chance will be shocked with the on screen activity compared to Infamous, its not even close, Prototype is doing so much more on screen.

Also, to the guy who said how can one site give it a great score 8.5 and a sister site give it a decent score of 7.5. Hate to tell you but a 7.5=Good score so don't over dramatize things. Prototype is FUN and thats all that matters really? right?

this AU reviewer is bias! they always give ps3 exclu a low score anf high on multipla i remember they give 7 or 8 on killzone 2 and and 7 i think for infamous...i been playin phototype on my 360 for a couple of days and i can say infamous is better its like a rush made game
(if i carry heavy object like cars its like caring a cardboard box and others cars will pass tru it like a ghost! and lacks on physics)
