And inded it is and might be, but that doesnt change the facts that even till today the multiplats lack on ps3, recently with ghostbusters who's dev said the same thing yet ghostbusters looks better on the 360.

Now im not knocking the ps3, i know its more powerful, but having these devs come out to keep saying so but then pushing multiplats that dont show that doesnt help. Having a few games that are better on the ps3 doesnt change much at this point, and a game that was first on a 360 then a year later appears better on the ps3 doesnt count either.

well it's going to get hot in here. Let's hope NG2:S is as beatiful as the 360 or version or they'll have to...

anyway, I wouldn't want to defend this statement as a dev.

They need to remeber that being more powerful hasnt helped, so having devs shoot thier mouths off doesnt help.

I think its got more to do with the engine a developer uses rather than the power of a console.

if sonys amazing 1st party devs worked on the 360 we would see results as good if not better than the ps3.it is not the flawed ps3 but the talented devs which make sonys exclusives look better,with the 360 its so simple to get good results the devs do a quick turnaround(and make more money) they dont have to play to its strenghts as much.thats why i think the 360 has as much "untapped" potential as the ps3 BUT MS admitedly slim 1st partys will never build from the ground up for it over 4 year dev times because they dont need to,to get very good graphics.

ninja gaiden 2 on xbox 360 = 520p @ 30 fps.

Ninja Gaiden Sygma on Sony PS3 = 1080p @ 60 FPS.

I think a point worth remembering is that the ps3 has only been out now for 3 years. You only have to look at the ps2 and how games evolvled from the systems launch to present to see that it's likely devs will always be able to squese a bit more out of a console.

And even looking at the ps3's games, compare launch titles to the ones developed 3 years in except of course the games being released now probably started work not long after the ps3 was released.

Never knew that. That game looks kind of good to tell you the truth. Its like a mix between gears and ninja gaiden.
Edit: time will tell if Quantum is any good. So far its looking pretty fun.

the PS3's processor is TEH CELL ( from toshiba sony and IBM ) and the xblode processor is a ( prototype processor from IBM LOOOL )

Meh, multiplats are usually nothing compared to 1st party games. The only 3rd party game that excels a first party game is MGS4. Which is an exclusive. So yeah.

Its obvious. You cant deny the specs. The PS3 has a 7 core 3.2ghz processor. So its undeniably the most powerful console. Actually the PS3 has an 8 core processor but the PS3 reserves one core for the PS3s OS. Its still funny when people poop themselves over the whole 256mb ram with the PS3. The cell shares memory for more RAM. So its not 256mb. Oh well, I think people should just drop the whole power thing. The PS3 wins. It cant be beat. It is the most powerful console to date.

Reason I say that is because they will never take advantage of the hardware for both the ps3 and the 360. Let the first and second party devs do the talking because as we can see, Killzone 2, Uncharted, GT5, and God of War 3 speak the truth because there is no need for the devs to say such things because the games speak for themselves.

Simply put, ps3 power is not that much more powerful than the 360, but because of its architecture, the ps3 is a lot more powerful system when gaming.

Xenon would be a good processor for a pc, because it is good at running multiple things at one time.

Xenon also has a similar architecture to a pc processor, they both are designed to do multiple things at a time(this is why games on pc are easy to port to 360)

Cell processor is very good for gaming and super computing because although its designed to do in essence one thing at a time, it can compute things faster than anything. Gaming and supercomputers do one thing in common, and thats calculations basically, which the ps3 excels at.

BOTTOMLINE, ps3 and 360 have similar power, but ps3 can give more power in gaming because of the way its designed. 360 is designed as a pc, ps3 is designed as a gaming console.(dont misunderstand what i say in that last statement)

When Alan Wake looks graphically unimpressive and worse than GOW3 and Uncharted 2, you know the 360 has reached its limit.

This may be true but I have yet to see anything that makes me think any PS3 game could not be made on the 360. We'll never really know as long as we have exclusives which is a good thing. More power to you Tecmo, bring on the kickass games.

Okay, the 360 is more powerful than the PS3 by PS3 exclusives look so much better than 360 exclusive. 360 is still looking for an exclusive that looks better than Uncharted. On top of that Killzone 2 has been release and out due Uncharted.

Tecmo is still around? Itagaki no longer work there which means Tecmo needs to first prove that they can manage without him.

When this game comes out.. and people care enough to buy it... than Tecmo or wherever is left of it can talk. It's no secret why Itagaki left that company... the Management is a Sony leg humper. So it's no coincidence that they join the Sony developer club where it's mandatory for them to say that "The PS3 is most powerful" before they are able to pass Sony's approval process.

So, as proven by developers of games like Haze and Lair who said the very same thing to later go out of business... never trust a developer making an exclusive game on the PS3... since they may not be around in one year from now.

It's not graphics alone, but what's going on on the screen that shows how much more powerful parallel processing is. And btw, the PS2 was more powerful than the original Xbox, Floating point wise, the xbox had the hardware to create better graphics. Call it a day guys, its another sad day for xbox owners. Yes we know the 360 has 512 mb ram with like a certain set aside for memory and we heard the 360 gpu is apparently a little better,but heres what people dont understand the 360 has a very hard time dealing with graphics,physics,foliage,the 360 has to calculate all that plus more,The ps3 deals with graphics,then lets say a cell deals with physics and another cell deals with foliage.IM not a developer i just read on the multitasking that the cell does and how the ps3 has 8 cells to help out with calculations.A question if the best looking 360 game is geow1&2,and uncharted ONE destroys both of them what does that tell you? And alot more things go on in uncharted then geow1&2 ie fire fights, explosions.

I have both systems and game on both systems. The point you all need to realize is that Ps3 exclusives do look better but not by alot. Like someone else said before the average person will see the games and not notice any major differences. How is it the end of the day for Microsoft when they are killing Sony in sales? That is the bottom line people. MS has created a platform where games can be made quickly and put out on the streets to make money.

All these graphic power houses don't seem to sell that well on the PS3. Look at Left For Dead. Graphics suck but it still outsold the all mighty Killzone 2. Uncharted had to be packed in to generate sales with its beautiful graphics. The public has spoken and they don't care about graphics. Heavenly Sword, Lair, Resistance 2, Lbp, Killzone 2 are all beautiful games that flopped in sells. Bottom line you guys can not twist this around.

We are the hardcore gamers. We are the ones who get the system when it hit the streets. We are in a minority people!! We are the gamers who wouldn't be caught dead with a Wii but apparently 50 million people like it and the graphics suck.

My favorite PS3 game MLB the Show 2009 on the Ps3. Talk about graphics powerhouse!! But the gameplay is awesome as well. Graphics should be the icing on the cake not the cake itself.

Atari 2600 killed the Intelivision and Colecovision which were SUPERIOR in graphics.
The NES smoked its rivals.

Developers will be more willing to pursue the true power of the playstation 3 when the install base gets a lot bigger. 2 to 3 years i give it before devs decide that they are going to get something back from the ps3 as exclusives.

This generation is getting held back by Microsofts dvd9 format. Don't get me wrong the specs of the system are half decent but in my view dvd format is the main culprit. Xbox and multiplats ftl. :o(

PS3 probably is the most powerful but i've yet to see one game that has done those claims justice so until then, I couldn't give a monkey's left testicle.

The PS3 sold as many consoles worldwide as the 360 did in all of 2008 while being 200 dollars more expensive.

The PS3 has already kicked the 360 to last place in both Japan and Europe despite the 360 being out for an extra year in Japan and a year and a half in Europe.

I bought a cystal xbox whilst i had the ps2 beacause it had more power it was the selling point 4me, the biult in HDD and games on offer were good and looked great however shortly after when i went to my local games store they were gone lol microsoft stoped supporting it.
Id do think the original xbox was better but the ps2 won hands down for games not graphics.

hell, HEAVENLY SWORD has quite possibly the best motion capture and facial animation of any game released this generation so far (even Uncharted, although Uncharted has better detail and texture work).

show me a 360 game that matches Heavenly Sword, let alone Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank Future (nobody said Banjo and Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts looked like a Pixar movie), MGS4, and Killzone 2.

and Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 will, literally, be exploding retinas when they release in the near future.

the Playstation 3 is a beast. and it's proven it over and over again since 2007. it IS nice to see people finally coming around to it.

i remember in early 2007 people said, "the proof is in the pudding," and "well, if the PS3 is more powerful than the 360, when where are the games that showcase it?" well, here you are.

now the shoe is on the other foot, and PS3 fans are asking, if the 360 is capable of doing a game that looks as good as Killzone 2, and MGS4, and Uncharted (1 and 2), WHERE are they?

Alan Wake? no. Splinter Cell: Conviction? no. good-looking games to be sure, but they simply don't match the level of detail in animation, textures, facial capture, and level detail as the top PS3 exclusives.

even inFAMOUS, an open world sandbox game has more detail and things going on at once than most linear, non-sandbox games.

the 360 is a good console, but, just like the Xbox outclassed the PS2 in terms of processing power, the PS3 outclasses the 360. and it has the GAMES to prove it (the problem with the original Xbox is that it didn't have as many games that were truly taking advantage of the hardware. the PS2 won because it had the most games, with the majority being exclusives, and the exclusives, like FFXII, MGS3, and God of War 2 REALLY blew people away with the PS2's potential).

Was the last truly great system. Now its all about graphics without substance or story. I don't think I care for the direction the video game industry has taken but I am probably just living in the past. As far as which system has better graphics at this point the differences are so minuscule that it really doesn't matter to me. I will play good 360 games and I will play good PS3 games and hell if the mood hits me I may even a good Wii game. Many of you argue over graphics and system specs and so on but really all that matters to me is the games. It was the same when the NES came out as it was when the PS3 arrived, it is always about the games.
