I think it is a matter of opinion. Some fanboys here are saying that most sites and most of the gaming community think that MS won E3, and obviously, this is BS. A few sites and polls don't speak for millions of gamers. Obviously polls will show that MS wins because the xbox360 has had time to build a very large install base.

Seriously, I find it ironic that this is coming from "xboxevolved" when a few days earlier fanboys were laughing at PSextreme for saying that Sony had the best conference.

this is not unusual at all, most Xbox only sites are very willing to criticize Microsoft and the 360.

PS sites however will never say anything mean about the PS3, and in some cases they even foolishly put out articles like the psxtreme one we all saw the other day.

Bottom line is MOST sites agree that MS "won" E3, now obviously not all sites and not everyone agrees, but the overwhelming consensus is MS took the show, and I think its pretty clear that, that is probably closer to truth than this hissy fit of an article.

Microsoft's conference was a lot flashier and ran a hell of a lot smoother. The marketing and smoke-and-mirrors FORCE was STRONG with that one. They played it almost flawlessly for their primarily American audience.

However...

Sony's conference blew the competition away where it matters most to me and that's the GAMES!

how in the world can that be closer to truth (e.g. a fact) when opinions are never factual based unless they're speaking for that individual and that individual only? If you tell me that microsoft's conference appealed to a majority of the people who watched, that's probably a different story; especially when I'm willing to bet that a majority of the people who watched the conferences were probably more on the xbox's side.

but with that being said, how can that still be claimed that microsoft's conference was really that much better than sony or nintendo's? in all honesty you can't. if that was the case then there would be no way people could debate over it... period. you can't debate a fact. if you try to, then the side that's trying to refute is just ignorant, or in worse cases stupid.

The only reason some people say MS stole E3 is due to Milo and his Sith Lord master, Peter Molyster. Natal's demo showed lots of flaws right off the bat, but it was the finely crafted commercials that sent it over the top for the casual market. Yes, MS shocked and Awed the crowd much like the US did Iraq, but in the end both are leaving a bad taste in peoples mouths.

Sony's greatest weakness this year was spending time on stats and charts. Otherwise, they showed game after game with 90% being exclusives. They "officially introduced" the PSPGo and TLG but both of those wear leaked just weeks/days before E3, yet both still made a lasting impression. Then they showed a rushed demo of the PSLightsticks, which even in their prototype state out performed Natal in both accuracy and direct gaming implementation potential. Considering the deck was stacked against them, Sony still delivered the most value and entertainment.

I do want to thank MS for starting the trend of having no sales chart info at E3. This will make future events even more entertaining and keeps the focus on presenting gamers with reasons to part with that cold hard cash for the next year.

But I just can't bring myself to believe that MS won the show. Now I have no problem admitting that MS won the past 2 e3s, but this one I felt was their weakest showing if you want to talk software.

From what I gather, alot of people feel Splinter Cell is their strongest game. As great as I think it is that they are focusing on an interesting storyline for a change, they still didn't get down to showing us how the new gameplay mechanics work. They only showed us a small portion of the game, and from what I saw, it wasn't a whole lot different from what we've played in the past. The story progression still seems linear.

And that whole spot and mark skill where you pop out from behind a door and kill people automatically - doesn't that seem just a little cheap?

Not to mention, the mission they showed us from Assassin's Creed was basically they same thing. Break into the enemy hideout, take out the bad guy.

Then you have Halo ODST, which, to be honest, isn't all that different from Halo's 1-3 in terms of gameplay. I was dissapointed because I thought they were going to use ODST as sort of a way to experiment for the next true Halo Incarnation. I still don't think they justified the 60$ price tag they want to tack on to it.

And speaking of Halo Reach, I really thought that Sony's announcement w/ R* new exclusive was more groundbreaking. I mean, who isn't getting burnt out on Halo already? What we found out from R* was that their biggest new IP is going to be a Sony exclusive, and it wasn't going to be another GTA(thank god).

As much as I like Forza 3, it will never be GT5. The biggest new feature in that game is a movie editor. This year will be oversaturated w/ racing sims, Forza 3 is the 3rd or 4th one coming out now. I'm almost glad GT5 isn't dropping til next year. I wont even get into the controversy around whether or not it actually runs at 60fps at 1080p(like GT5) or that it will take 2 discs(supporting the theory that DVD9 is inadequate)

At the end of the day, MS was left w/o a GOTY contender. While Sony's lineup was chalk full of them in the years to come(Uncharted2, FF14, The Last Gaurdian, Agent, GT5, GoW3, Heavy Rain).

Wait a sec...MS showed the games. they announced Two freaking halo games for crying out loud. Alan Wake, conviction, ME2, and Forza 3 all looked crazy pretty graphically and gameplay wise. Sony didn't show anything new. The only thing we got to see for the 1st time was mag gameplay and that was it. Now I'm not saying there show was bad, but what i am saying is Sony is getting to much praise for nothing. Heck, even Nintendo had more new games to show than Sony. Some of you people are just to easy to impress, and tell yourself things until you think your opinion is the truth when it's far from it.

No it doesn't, and worked out well in Rainbow six. the new Sam is much more fluid and realistic than the old one.

And what's wrong with that? Halo fans buy halo for it's story and gameplay. I don't want the gameplay to change which is has buy the way when it comes to jumping, night, and day vision.

Now that's your opinion and I respect it. Halo Reach to me was the biggest news for 360 this E3, and much more impacting then the Agent in my opinion.

I'm still waiting for a Halo game to out do part one, so no I'm not burnt.

What? Forza is doing or has done so many things Gt has yet to do. It's made it's name for customization, much better physics, and damage. If anything it's gone beyond Gt and hopefully Gt goes beyond Forza once released.

That's all opinion. MS had the games this year along with Natal and all new NXe services. The illusion of Sony's games looking better and having more is just crazy out of hand and laughable. Both consoles have great titles for there fans so let's just leave it at that.

i guess, it depends if you like playing next gen games, or if you enjoy buying more M$ hardware.

The way i see it, in a year where the 360 has had no games that can go up against the ps3 exclusives....ms should have shown more games showcasing what the 360 can do. I mean seriously, till this day nothing on 360 can touch uncharted 1. what do you guys think uncharted 2 is gonna further prove? Now the next big "war" is gonna come down to the 8cars on a track versus 16 cars on a track........clearly 1 game can push more polygons on the dedicated hardware. BUT DOES ANYONE acknowledge that? No, it gets brushed aside because its a sony exclusive.

clearly, if all sony had shown was "the wand" at e3, then there would be millions of stories online on how sony fails and has no games. LOL, really funny stuff.

suddenly gamers dont play games, they play sales and hw that hasnt even been released. funny, because last year it was all about microsfts games and not the ps eye and its games.

Every game shown at the conference for 360 was huge, and easily goes toe to toe with Sony's offerings. Really I'm just confused with this whole Sony's amazing lineup speech going around. Sure GOW3, Last guardian, and UC2 looks good, but So does Aw, conviction, and ME2. Heck you guys just keep announcing everything PS3 regardless of quality or gameplay just because it's exclusive.

Unchrated looked great (we already knew that)
GOW3 looks good ( we already knew that)

Outside of that we saw? An Emo trailer for Last Guardien, GT5 and a screen saying Rockstar.

So all of a sudden it's about opinions and not empirical fact that MS "won" something that CANNOT be won? Look, I've been saying all week that everyone loses because of E3-it's a huge waste f cash designed purely to suck up to the media with a big, free junket for them to bget schmoozed atin the hope of favourable press in the coming year-which it doesn't do as people always stick to what they thought before they went.

Besides XE are right and PSXextreme are wrong n this one and so are those sites giving us all the MS won E3 BS. MS show was all fur coat and no knickers-but so was Sony's and Nintendo's(though they did have most surprises and fewest games!). Thing is MS and Sony had a mere two hours to wow the media and it isn't enough which left them having to push games closest to release, i.e those games we know about already or those we damn well knew would be announced. Even MGS:R was something we could have predicted and the only surprise about L4D was how soon it's coming. Same goes for Sony who we know purely from the sheeer number of Sony devs must have much more to tll us-but they didn't.

Get over it people E3 is NOT about gamers and it isn't a place where "we" win, also it does not effect console sales as outside of the kind of people on N4G how many do you think really pay any attention? All it does it steal cash and time from game development and shows us sruff they could easily do in other ways for less money. It's the very last time I pretend that E3 is gonna be any good.

--> To top it off you have Kojima b slapping the audience by saying where not going to get MGS4, no Solid Snake, and Kojima isn't even working on the title being released on the 360. The game is a spinoff and is totally different gameplay wise then Metal Gear Solid 4.

* Wahhhh... it isn't a real MGS game, but the MMO - FF XIV is and FF XI didn't ever count! Gsus... complain if the game bombs.

--> This has the exact opposite effect the Final Fantasy 13 announcement had at last year's E3.

* Haha... last year the FF XIII Xbox 360 announcement didn't matter either - according to a whole bunch of people - remember?

--> Afterward you had multiplatform titles and a few actual exclusives with any AAA value.

* What was up with The Fat Princess announcement at E3 - a class-based capture-the-flag multiplayer clone? Wasn't it revealed a long time ago?

--> The more you break down this conference the more you will see how bad of a conference it was. Microsoft's biggest announcement was Project Natal, and you had to have the worst hype machine ever, Peter Moleyneux, spouting on about how great it was.

* The general game industry was impressed, so how bad was the hype?

--> Peter is definitely strong with the force because he call pull Jedi mind tricks with the wave of his hands (You are seeing someone interacting with a little boy on screen. This is not being faked...). There is a noticeable delay among the person and camera. It could be the camera is just retarded and cant capture your movements properly yet but the response time was not as fast as it should be. I do think the tech can be improved on before launch but having Project Natal be your main act shows how little Microsoft has to offer. Then there's the reports of Peter's Milo demo being faked...

Molyneux: There are hundreds of little tiny tricks. How he looks at the camera, whether he looks directly at the camera or slightly off. The amount of twitches in his face. The interesting thing is this uncanny valley and how we’re breaking through it. People who experience Milo really go away believing they can talk to him. It was really funny when we were showing the journalists at the show – a lot of them try to engage Milo in a proper conversation, partly because they thought ‘My God, this is it – we’ve got something we can really talk to,’ and partly because the tricks we were using pulled them into the conversation. We’re building up a profile of the emotion in your voice so we know when your voice is strained or excited or calm or passive. That coupled with Milo’s vocabulary of words he understands and what he’s doing on screen creates this illusion – and I’m not pulling any wool over people’s eyes – the illusion that Milo understands and is sentient. And couple that with really cheeky tricks that we’re using. For example, Milo will download dialogue very regularly behind the scenes which updates his database with current events. So, if Britain’s Got Talent is on, he’ll comment on certain acts, so that makes him feel so relevant and real that you start believing it, even if you’re a skeptic.

Question: Some accounts on the internet have claimed there were people with controllers around the back of the demonstrations. Have the people that have played over the last day or so purely been interfacing with the machine?

Molyneux: You’ve got to remember that this is very, very new tech, and quite often we need to reboot the machine, so there’s someone in the back in case something goes wrong. There’s no cheating, absolutely not. I thought actually, when they were there, ‘Oh my God, it’s going to look like there’s a puppeteer in the background,’ but there’s not, absolutely not.

--> The whole Xbox Evolved group at E3 came out there wanting something better, but Microsoft could not deliver. I think by far this was the most disappointing press conference, but not the worst (Nintendo). I hope next year Microsoft can at least show off a trailer of their most anticipated games, like Mass Effect 2, instead of leaving everyone disappointed at the end of it.

Well put my man, and a bubble for you.

It all comes down to what is most important to the individual. If it's all about flash, peripherals and the like, then MS won E3 for you. If it's about games, then Sony won for you. One thing is for sure though, and I think most would agree (except sidar) Nintendo's conference underwhelmed again.

Is it me though, or is E3 becoming less relevant every year? I find myself more excited for TGS, GDC, and Leipzig than E3.

If you're talking about cool gadgets, then maybe MS won. If you're talking about games, it seems pretty clear to me that Sony won.

Project Natal, Sony's Motion Controller, Wii Motion Plus... the average consumer doesn't care which one is the best, they care who has the best commercials. By most accounts no one even plays their Wii because there are few compelling games. Why would Wii owners then go running out to buy Project Natal enhanced 360s? If motion controlls are your big announcement, then I say FAIL!

I've got a 360 and a PS3, and most of the games I'm looking forward to are on the PS3.

Yeah the PS3 has a browser and can already use twitter, Facebook, and Myspace. I wonder why no one is getting on Microsoft for not having a browser, but want to integrate stuff in the dashboard like it is a big deal. I stream movies off my PS3 Browser all the time.

Crackdown 2? Left4Dead 2? Halo: Reach? Shadow Complex? Project Natal? Metal Gear Solid? That racing game...

Those were all great announcements, not to mention those awesome upgrades to the dashboard (Radio, etc)

This guy whines over not seeing Bioshock 2 and Mass Effect 2 at Microsoft's conference... yet a day later Mass Effect 2 had a developer walkthrough at the booths and Bioshock 2 has shown enough gameplay and they announced plans for multiplayer.
Much better that Nintendo's.. but Sony's? Thats debatable

This contrats the vast majority of articles that agree on that MS had the best show, this year or any other they've had so far.

You can't please all the fan(boys) but still I'm shocked on that any Xbox fan (which I honestly doubt this guy is) could've been dissapointed with such a strong show.

I was disappointed with everyone's showing this year. No one had any new exclusives that had my mouth watering. Nintendo came the closest with SMG2, but still no Zelda.

is not needed on 360, I certainly was not looking forward to it.

To most non MGS fanboys, MGS4 was garbage, you just couldn't get into it, too slow too boring, the pacing was all screwed up, it was more weird movie than game, not a game for folks new to the series. Not at all open to bringing in new fans, thus I think the game was severely over rated.

If you never played MGS you wouldn't know what was going on in the game, and it was designed as such that you wouldn't care to find out.

This isn't the 360. The PS3 actually HAS games to play unlike the NetfliXbox 360. Sure, we got Uncharted 2 but we also have Demon's Souls, inFamous came out not too long ago, Katamari Forever, MAG, & Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time just to name a few. On top of all those games there are AAA downloadable titles coming out on PSN.

Now if you want to make yourself look even more foolish...We got even more games in 2010 like Final Fantasy Versus XIII, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, The Last Guardian, ModNation Racers, Quantum, White Knight Chronicles (aka: RPG of the year for 2010 as it's by the king of RPGs, Level 5), The Agency, DC Universe Online, Final Fantasy XIV, and the list keeps going.

If you're lucky you might get some more DLC for some of your other year old games to try and last you through the rest of 2009.

I counted inFamous because it came out not too long ago and people are still playing it. Also, 360 only got Beautiful Katamari (which flopped). PS3 is getting Katamari Forever, it's not the same game. The games I listed for 2009 were just a FEW of the exclusives coming out in 2009 because I didn't think you were stupi--Actually, I knew you were stupid but I just didn't feel like I needed to waste my time to further prove you wrong.

And yeah, PSN games are better than XBLA (easily). The games are original and even get better ratings than most XBLA games. In fact, XBLA is really filled with nothing but rehashed originals and the rest of them are pretty mediocre (including those community games).

By the list you showed me, 2009 is obviously the year of the PS3. I mean just look at the stuff you listed. Halo: ODST (basically an add-on that's on the disc; the multiplayer is the same as Halo 3), L4D2 (on PC), Splinter Cell: Conviction (on PC), GTA4 DLC, and Lips. I mean really? Lips?! lol. You call me out for talking about a game that is released not too long ago (which I even point out) but then you go off to list DLC, multiplatform games, and Lips!

I though e3 as a whole was great. I thought MS had a better showing than I expected and I have more interest in thier line up than before E3. Enough so I will probably be purchasing a 360 again some time in the near future. Not to mention thta Natal has probably recieved the most mainstream media coverage. So, it couldn't have been that bad.

I was surprised no one has keyed on MS mention of 'everything from this point is excluisve' and then showed MGS:Rising. Or am I wrong and they said that after? Alos, the BAM moment I think is an instant classic. However as a whole it worked with me, I was interested.

Alan wake looked better than UC2 and on the same level as GOW3, but not easy compare yet because they are so different in design. With a year to go and the world being bigger than Oblivion I think your comment is utter nonsense. AW, Conviction,ME2, and Forza3 all upped everything this gen.

Its funny though cause sony showed even more games in ps3 home. Heavy rain to name one of them. So its funny how ill informed some of you people are and have no basis to support your theory. Microsofts E3 was underwhelming. Seriously 2 Halo games...ODST is like 1-3 and we don't know what Reach is....(Maybe a Sequel to Halo Wars?) But seriously Sony just had more exclusives games and more gameplay footage. The GOW3 was extended and uncut. MAG was amazing....GT5 amazing...MODnation Amazing...Uncharted 2 (Beta is awesome I'm in it) Seriously 360 has nothing that made me jizz in my pants....Everything I want is either multiplatform or ps3 exclusive...Looks like I was right to sell my 360.....

Say what you want about the PS3, but if there's even one game coming out for the 360 that interests you, then you're going to regret having sold it.

I just bought an Xbox about 2 weeks ago (my mate no longer wanted his Arcade, I got it for 50 bucks! BARGAIN!) and I was anticipating all these awesome games and then I get nothing. Nothing of interest was announced that I won't be able to get on PS3, bar possibly Alan Wake.

The only thing remotely interesting in terms of games was Forza III, and I'm already committed to getting GT 5 on my PS3 (if it ever comes out), who has the patience to play 2 realistic racing sims?

Alan Wake looked good, but I agree with the story looking crap. Then there was all this bull about other features and natal. If i wanted motion control i would have bought a wii. Where are all the new amazing titles!?! Its a game console, announce some good GAMES! not some middle aged cow chatting to a virtual pre teen boy!

Came into E3 excited for both PS3 and 360 since I own both of them. I was E3 last week and for what it matters the Playstation section was the place to be, no bull. The God of War line was the longest game line at E3, followed up closely by the Uncharted/MAG line. Talked to various people around E3 (including Jeff from gametrailers TV) and the consensus was that Sony had the better games at E3. Personally I played/Saw all the major games: ODST is pure Halo fun.. but it just felt like they are sucking the life out of the halo franchise, but i'll still buy it so I guess they know what they are doing. Forza was also fun, great fun racer. Saw a Mass effect 2 screening and it looks like what mass effect 1 should have been, very excited for it. And my 360 game of the show was splinter cell, just freakin awesome. However, the games I played from Sony blew me away. I can't begin to describe how awesome and visually amazing God of War was, and speaking about visuals Uncharted 2 looks about twice as good as the first (thats saying a lot since the first looks great) and MAG literally blew my mind with 256 players online playing without lag. You can take my impressions of the games Sony and Microsoft have with a grain of salt but Sony had the stronger showing of games at E3. Still love my 360, just trying to keep it real since many people who only own a xbox find it hard to admit that Sony had a stronger showing of games (not trying to hate). In the end like many ppl say we all have great games to look forward to no matter what console you own :)

This has nothing to do with people that own one or two consoles. It all boils down to opinion and preference. If you liked Sony's showing better it's ok, but don't tell people to admit something when they don't agree. I've been gaming for 30 years and always given credit where it's due. All consoles had a good showing based on what i saw with my own two eye's so saying one was better than the other is just silly. As a 360 owner I was bracing myself for an uneventful E3 like last years, but with all things accounted for I was pretty impressed, unfortunately I can't say the samething for my bank account. Luckily I have lots of time to get my savings back in order since these games don't start hitting shelves until September.

Now here's what impressed me...

Modern warfare 2:
I'm gonna be honest, I hated COD4, but it seems they might be actually making improvements with the franchise rather than milking it for all it's worth. I'm somewhat intrigued, but it's not a must by for me just yet.

Crackdown 2:
The first one was pretty good, I'm wondering what kind of improvements they made with the sequel.

Left 4 Dead 2:
I'm kind of on the fence with this one, the first Left 4 Dead is a great game, but it got really repetitive quickly. I'm not gonna boycott it though.

Splinter Cell: Conviction:
I like the new direction they are taking with this franchise, I just hope they don't screw it up. otherwise I'm looking forward to it.

Halo 3: ODST
I wasn't expecting much from this game, but that drop through earths atmosphere and into New Mombasa sealed the deal for me. I like the direction Bungie took with this. It looks like the Halo campaign that I wanted to play since Halo 2's E3 showing in 2003. Fighting against the Covenant on Earth.

Halo: Reach:
Bungie listens to their fanbase and gives us what we always wanted, a chance to play a game where you fight for a lost cause. The battle for Reach... the largest UNSC stronghold next to Earth. I just hope it's built on a new engine and they don't make the same gameplay mistakes as they did with Halo 3. I'm also looking forward to fighting Elites again in the campaign mode.

Perfect Dark XBLA:
Finally, my most favourite game of all time heading to the XBLA. Not only was this game well ahead of it's time, but the amount of options in the game still put most modern shooters to shame, including the Halo games.

Overall, I'm definitely looking forward to the next two years of gaming.

if you take out the beatles, spielberg, that fake milo demo, the girl dodging invisible balls, twitter/facebook stuff, all we have left is:

-splinter cell and alan wake (already annouced, good vids shown)
-crackdown 2 and left 4 dead 2 (unannouced exclusives, probably the two that would have come last on any survey of most wanted exclusives before E3)
-MTGS spin off with no kojima, no snake and no exclusivity
-disappointing halo spin off vids shown, another halo spin off announced

in any case I would say that MS conference was the best because it was impresive and entertaining while having almost nothing of substance to show, in other words with a line up vastly inferior in numbers and quality to the competition they made it appear as they were on the same level

Alan Wake looks good but by no means does it look better than Uncharted 2 and definitely its not on the level of GOW3. I'm playing the beta of Uncharted 2 and it simply looks amazing and the play control is so fluid. I'm sure you have seen the video of Kratos pulling the head off the body. The facial expression look unbelievable. Alan Wake cant touch either of these games.

They did have more exclusive games this year than last year. pretty much they both had a good showing. The new Splinter Cell has my interest and I'm not a very big fan of Splinter Cell. But the gameplay has changed and so has the story. I look forward to playing this game.

Of course my expectation level may have varied among the 3, but I was mostly pleased with both Microsoft's and Sony's conference. Neither had announcements that truly 'shocked' me... even if there was a couple little surprises.

I do sort of have a problem with these type of articles. These 'opinion pieces' I guess you'd call them. Saying Microsoft (or Sony) won or lost - was defeated/crushed/embarassed etc. And you'll have folks who will agree with what's written and those who will disagree. The problem is we're not dealing with facts, and even if there were a consensus on who 'won' E3... that wouldn't exactly be any closer to 'truth'. Popularity (or lack of popularity) does not always go hand-in-hand with truth or even quality. Consoles ending in commercial failure such as the Dreamcast are not inherently bad. Games which reach high levels of success are not enjoyed by every gamer. However many people lean on such statistics to dictate what is 'true' to them. Or to attempt to dictate to the world what is 'fact'.

For many it seems as though this is hard to accept. That their opinion is just one among an endless sea of diverse thoughts and feelings. I honestly do not understand why X game must be at a certain level above Y game. Why X company has to beat Y company in whatever area. It's almost as if for some people their enjoyment is in some way tied to the idea that they're receiving a greater more enjoyable experience than someone else. If we applied this to all areas of our lives we'd be a wreck I think, because we'd be in constant tormoil over the fact that someone out there has more money, or more fame, or a more fulfilling lovelife.

I don't see why we can't drop all this fanboy stuff. Share our thoughts reasonably and 'politely' disagree with one another when a certain view is not shared. Instead of pushing out all these 'facts' that aren't really facts at all.

Personally I'm looking forward to Uncharted 2, Alan Wake, The Last Guardian, Mass Effect 2, Gran Turismo 5, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Modern Warfare 2, and Final Fantasy XIII... just to name a few titles. Do I prefer one console over another? Well, at this moment I'm not ashamed to admit that the PS3 lineup has a little more of my interest... but I wouldn't want to miss out on any games. I won't enjoy one game any more or less just because of the device that I use to play it. And I don't think you need to attempt to convince anyone to be on 'your side'. Whether your opinion is popular or swings the way of the minority... no one's really wrong. Hype and sales figures will not make your personal game experience any better. At least I don't think it should. If that's somehow possible I really don't think it's beneficial to that individual.

At any rate, I've gone on long enough. Most of you probably won't even bother to read it all... but I just felt like sounding off anyway. Just try to enjoy the games folks. Not the little war that's been created... and not the smallest little graphical differences between games. We're all 'gamers' aren't we? I think we'd have a better community if we could see each other as all taking part in the same hobby without worrying about which side of the fence we're currently on.

Microsoft won because they announced AAA games that will be released this year in Forza 3, Halo 3 ODST, L4D2, and Splinter Cell Conviction. Sony announces alot of stuff but as far as I know, only Uncharted 2 and MAG will be released this year.

So once again 2009 will not be the year of the PS3 just like 2007 and 2008. In 2010, Sony can try again.

I can care less about Natal and the PS3 Magic wand or games coming out in 2010 and beyond.

By the numbers, 360's line-up in that presentation was phenomenal.

Alan Wake dated for early 2010.
Kojima came out to confirm MGS Rising for 360.
There was a ton of "entertainment" stuff like Last.fm, Facebook and Twitter integration.
Then Microsoft wheeled out the megaton: Natal.

Yeah, Sony's E3 press conference this year was superb. The motion tech was next. This was not pretty. The two guys doing the demo couldn't get it working properly at first, and compared to the promise of Natal it looks distinctly "old". Time will tell.

A motion "wand" that looked too much like a dildo. And an apparently ineffective dildo, at that.

If I were to looking at a poll such as in Cnet, then I would see over 10,000 people have voted in the pole and Microsoft has had 51.9 percent of the votes.

Sony or Nintendo do not need to see this poll to understand that their announcements were made to look stupid by the software giant. Project Natal looks to be one of the best pieces of technology I have seen since the Wii first came along. he new Project Natal for use with the Xbox 360 will blows anything ever seen in gaming out of the water.

Overall Winner: Microsoft's Conference

Its funny how you guys try to downplay all of sonies games that are announced with release dates....Seriously its hilarious. You ever think hay... they may push them forward? (They did it with infamous)Plus we ps3 owners already have had 3 Triple AAA Exclusive games this year so really uncharted 2 and some MAG along with Modern Warfare 2 for the rest of the year is really something to look forward to. Then the rest of 2010 will be evenly spread with exclusive games....We have either Heavy rain or White knight in Early 2010. Then GOW3 in march....Then whatever else....Thats also adding in all the random multiplat games. Sony is smart in letting all their exclusives come out in a consecutive way so that they all get their few months of freedom.

Microsoft announced everything except adequate gaming software. Project Natal was a waste of development time and R&D. Which will further prohibit his marital status, relationship status with the opposite sex due to his lack of knowledge on how to pick up women. Instead, Project Natal will be the Microslave's date and confidant on speaking about today's everyday problems.

Microsoft has brainwashed many into thinking their E3 performance was worth any merit. Instead it was something of which Dark Sniper fell fast asleep and further went to doing social activity inside and outside his PLAYSTATION®3. If Dark Sniper wants to speak with live active people, he has PlayStation® Home. Not a pre-teenage robot who pretends to have organic feelings for a disillusioned Microslave.

because none of the actual games besides Alan Wake caught my eye. Okay maybe ME2 as well. But they were nothing compared to SMG2, GT5, GoW3, UC2, Metroid Other M, and NSMB. Those were the big games to me, and games that will make an impact on their respective platforms. The 360 games were nice to look at but, i didnt really care.

Honestly, that is just one site’s opinion. I commend them for not blindly claiming a MS victory seeing how they are a 360 – centric site, and I also give them kudos for wanting what every real gamer wants: better games and more of them.

Even though I rarely turn on my 360 at the moment, I am highly anticipating Mass Effect 2. The first one had its share of problems, but it is a testament to the story and the realization of the Mass Effect universe that I took my lumps and withstood the technical difficulties to see the game through to it’s end.

I am also interested in the Splinter Cell game. I did not really like the previous games but this one has me interested.

Actually, I’d have to say that both Sony & MS delivered very satisfactorily.

I can say while yes I could see people being disappointing that no new Gears was shown, but to say no Halo 4 was shown... I even wonder if this person walked out when they announced Halo Reach. Anyway sure Microsoft didn't have all exclusives, but I don't think they need it. This person wasn't very excited about Natal, but I for one am and it all matters on opinion and just what we are looking for in our console. This person just wanted AAA Microsoft exclusive FPS. So his point is valid in his demographic. I like this new Microsoft approach and that is why I believe Microsoft and the xbox will do well in the upcoming years. Sure they might lose a few fans since they are not just focusing on the die hard Halo or Gears fans. It's just a personal thought, but I believe Microsoft is going in the right direction to make Video gaming even more mainstream and continue to show the masses that Video games are not for just the hardcore players. It also just has to do with the times if Microsoft focused only on the Hardcore players they would be losing more money then they already have. Just to cut to a point. Yay Microsoft for trying to expand the future of video games. Boo Jason Solorzano for trying to say Microsoft should only focus on what I want and only what I want.

i dnt no about anyone here but i used to own a 360... and i dnt see why they would try n carry on the halo thing... halo 3 IMO was worth a playthrough at most. i wont play it again as i just CBA.

I thought overall E3 was a great show this year with all the game news I've seen come out of it but as far as press conferences go, MS left me a little disappointed.

Now I don't think anyone "won" E3, I think that is a silly concept because different people like different things. I own a 360 and was hoping for games to be announced that I'd be very interested in, all that interested me was Alan Wake and Crackdown 2. The services MS announced, while cool, mean little to me because I don't use facebook, twitter or las.fm. Their "1080p" streaming won't be as good as Blu-Ray and tbh I prefer actually owning the disc, regardless of quality. MS just didn't show a lot of games I'm interested in.

On the other hand, maybe 2 games that Sony showed for PS3 don't interest me while the rest I have a lot of interest in. I can understand and appreciate that other people will be the opposite of me, Sony's games won't have interested others that much and MS' games will have and they'll love the new services MS announced and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I mean that's why there are 3 different, successful consoles. They each offer something different which imo is fantastic.

Eben though I got more interest from Sony's conference I wouldn't say they won E3 and if MS had showed more of what I like I wouldn't say they had "won" it either. What I'd say is that "<console maker> showed more of what interested me this year".

Either way I think no matter what console or games you may prefer, we, the gamers, all came out of E3 as big big winners and I think that is what is important.

I honestly think that no matter what console you prefer or what type of game (genre or franchise, whatever) you prefer, E3 had something awesome for every taste which is why I think E3 this year was awesome. Last year it was kinda meh, there were a couple of things that looked cool but nothing on the scale of this year really.

We've all got some pretty awesome games to look forward to, some of my favourites were GOW3, Castlevania and Dante's Inferno...all looked amazing to me because I really love that kind of game, there's a bunch of others too but I'd be here for a while listing them lol.

Glad to see an ICO sequel confirmed and a chance to see the video in true HD, the biggest surprise for me were the WRC & NASCAR support for gt5 ,when them logos flashed on screen i was well chuffed.
Alan Wake looks very good back even when the announced game in 2006,but like most of the 360 games there released on pc were if its adventure games i much prefer to point and click using mouse . . .

We all saw the extremely vague all CG trailer that only showed a planet with a bunch of explosions going off. We all know that given the fact that nothing was said about the game, it could turn out to be a 2d tower defense game for all we know. That's why we expressed disappointment with the lack of a true Halo sequel (or spinoff) that looked good enough to keep up with the competition. ODST looks just like 3, and in the day of killzones and modern warfares, that just doesn't hold up.

All three were disappointing. Oooo Orbed Motion control, Ooooo a cramped PSP that won't play UMDs with a whole 16 gigs of memory, Oooo I swat at flys and start a video on my 360 and talk to a VIDEO of some lame English kid. The Wii topped this craptacular event with a freakin finger clip, What next? The Wii butt thermometer?.

The thing that usually never disappoints is the games demos/vids/what have you. Between the 3 there is some cool shtuff comin our way.
