EA: We're Not Doing Another Godfather

In an interview at E3 on Wednesday, Frank Gibeau, president of the EA Games label, said that after April's release of The Godfather II, his company is finished making video games based on the revered film series. "We're not going to do another one," he said flatly. He then noted that the company has no Godfather titles on its current production schedule, which extends out three years.

Considering the resemblance between game and movie began and ended at the name, the quality of III has no bearing on anything EA would have developed.

But yeah, III is a turd.

Eh, the first game resembled the first movie a bit. They obviously inserted a new character, but a lot of the major events played out in the same fashion.

After Godfather II the game, I won't lose any sleep over this.

Considering that Godfather 3 released 16 years after the second (1990 & 1973), EA has a little bit of time to make a decision. Video game years are much quicker than movie years so a next gen sequel shouldn't be out of the question, right? lol :-p
