IMO Sony won hands down. Microsoft's wand was maybe better prepared, but the games go to Sony. Although Splinter Cell looks amazing :D

LOL. The titles are still there. From the top of my head KZ2, inFAMOUS, R&C, MAG, Fat Princess, WKC, DS, Sigma2 and UC2. Last year, MGS4 (PS3 exclusive forever). If you arent interested in any of them, I guess nothing will convince you and then that render your rant pointless.

Microsoft had a good conference, but I really think that the Final Fantasy 14 announcement (even though it could come to the 360) was the Megaton of the entire E3 and really shook up the building. Regardless if FF14 is a MMO or not, it's still a Final Fantasy game that was announced to be console exclusive to the PS3 (in addition to PC), and nobody saw that coming.

The Rockstar Exclusive, The Last Guardian, MGS: Peace Walker, God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 were the main centerpieces of Sony's Press Conference for me, and I plan on getting them ALL.

Uncharted 2, Assassins Creed 2 and God of war demo where awesome.
FFXIII, MGS:peace walker, last guardian and GT PSP trailers also look great.

Glad to be a PS3/PSP owner after seeing all that.

1. No Twisted Metal is a big fail for me. A lot of sony fans were trying to convince me that it would be there. Oh well.

2. Uncharted 2 looks freaking sick and fun. I wonder why they didn't show any multiplayer footage.

3. Last Guardian is not my style but looks like it has a lot of heart. But you can see that something sad is going to happen to that monster. SPOILER: Remember the horse???? :(

4. The go kart game and MAG looked awful. Agent??? A Final Fantasy MMO??? I love Final Fantasy but their last MMO sucked.

5. Another GT trailer making it the third e3 in a row that showed a trailer of GT.

6. God of War 3 is tight but I didn't see much difference from part 2.

7. Project Natal and MILO hands down beats sonys motion controller.

In the end, the 360 showed a lot more surprises and games compared to the ps3. It sure seemed that Sony put a lot more attention to their new psp than the ps3.

ive red some threads what you had to say about the ps3 and you wrote the ps3 off saying its wad dead if sony wernt going to make a big impact at the e3 and are you a 360 fanboy causew i know im a sony pro and i like what sony does for us fans and m$does not bring nothing to the table for there fans halo after halo im just being honest but sony did win the e3 what does m$ do try to take sony games and insted of releasing there own ip and tking grand theft auto 4 final fantasty metal gear now tekken but like i will say what are they going to do when the next e3 comes and go and try to take grand tursimo well m$ will never get there grand tursimo its a fact they might as well leave the hardware because they dont bring nothing fresh to the tables like sony does i give props to sony m$ is shoddy right now if those games wernt never going to be on xbox then the xbox would be dead now

I didn't have a reason to buy a DS before until GS was anounced. I still pefer PSP all the way.

Now that Jim Ryan is gone just need to remove Herman Hulst from his position! And maybe give Shuhei the position he deserved.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

So now there's certifiable proof that Ryan was in fact "fired", as opposed to when it was first announced that he "retired", in order to save face.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
