Ok as far as all 3 events went, I couldn't help but feel a bit under impressed by all of them.

Xbox 360's
Mostly multiplat games really, and nothing particularily new or exciting. Now don't jump to conclusions since I'll be making this same comment later on, but really, when games like ME2, or Alan wake are being showed with so much anticipation, I'm not saying to myself "This is awesome, this is the reason I got a 360", I'm thinking to myself "Man I can't wait to play this on my computer". I know Microsoft is mostly a computer based company, but it needs to be widely known that a computer game that is exclusive to one console is not the reason people buy consoles. I want to have my exclusives that can take advantage of the specific piece of hardware I purchased be the reason for my purchase.

In all honesty, this is why my 360 has been sitting out since Fable 2 and Gears 2. They came, were ok (I'm sorry but they were glitchy as $%^&, they were rushed out and yes, I know, they have finally been patched up but that didn't help once I had finished the game while it was messed up and didn't want to return to them again).

Not to mention the fact that every console this gen is really overdoing the fps genre, so while I was excited for a new halo, I couldn't help but feel it was just so much of the same thing again and again.

Then with the price announcement of ODST I kept wondering to myself, they are seriously milking this series way too much. I mean in all honesty it's an expansion, but priced at the full price.

L4D2 was another one that has been getting to me since it came out. The first was really short and shallow, it really should have been an expansion or cheap game on steam much the way CS has been, but they charge a full price and then expect gamers to purchase another full priced expansion when the more sensible thing to do would be to just announce a decent priced expansion to the series.

Crackdown and SCC were the only ones that truly impressed as they're something that is unavailable on any other platform so they had me really excited. and I thought ok, bring out the exclusives, I'm ready...

Then we end up MGSR, another multiplat. Cool that it's finally coming to the system, but not only as a spinoff, but also as a change in genre, which could go either way. Could be great, could be terrible, never know.

Finally Project Natal... If you're a fanboy I'm going to say walk away now because you're not going to like my words... this was really the kicker. At a moment when you get the crowd all hyped up and you announce a new family oriented/ upgraded eyetoy, you're just asking for disappointment. I hate to say it but I think Sony may have them on this one for a few different reasons the first being that they know, just having cameras doesn't work. You need to have that essence of buttons to actually add to everything.

The eyetoy is the perfect example. Great and fun while it lasted, sold well, but really it wasn't all that great. You need to be able to touch things to make it work. The wii started the idea to put basic movement and buttons together. Wii bowling is a great example of how well this works. The button adds to feeling because there's a sense of vibration and the release of the ball. Why do you think the ps3 version was so terrible. You might as well have been holding a book and waving your arm back and forth.

Buttons and rumble (and no I wasn't a person which originally supported Sony's decision to remove it from the sixaxis so don't go throwing that one at me) add things like the feelings we get from touching things, or the rumbling sensation we get from being hit by something. Yes it sounds like it'd be cool for things like boxing or even MMA since the body recognition would work, but how would you know if you blocked that hit, or were just hit aside from only watching the screen. Hopefully that gives you an idea of the possible faults of this system as well as some possible benefits.

Nintendo
I'm sorry this was almost as bad as the EA conference. Focusing mostly on child/girl/ or health related games are not what these shows should really be for and they're becoming more and more prevalent in this show. With Nintendo finally starting to put out quality mature titles like Madworld, this really seemed like a step back.

Not to mention nearly half of their show was just reconfirming what the EA show had. The exclusive "games" that they did show seemed to really get gamers going but the previews seemed so short and so far and few between that it was hard to really be so excited for them.

But they did have a few new things like New Super Mario for the wii and mario galaxy, which actually look interesting. Then the new metroid they showed off could be the beginning of a new direction for the series much like prime was.

So that's about all I have to say about Nintendo's... which really resembles how much there'll be to keep chatting up about this one, not a whole lot. I have a feeling most gamers watching will have conversations similar to this... "you see the Nintendo conference last night/today...? Ya..... awkward silence ensues... how bout that weather huh?"

This was exciting for me for all the wrong reasons really. I kinda got this feeling that the PSP really stole the show and that's not a good thing considering...

The kicked it off right jumping right into the games, from every genre, and for everyone. That's the way to do a show. Then we started hearing more and more about things that had been leaked or revealed previous to the show. Then came the first big disappointment... the PSP GO! Lemme make an example of this, say down the road the ps3, nearing the end of it's life cycle gets a ton of GREAT new titles, best of the best, just amazing right, then they announce that the new iteration of the ps3 will be smaller,with 2TB of SSD HDD space blu ray less, and that all games will now have to be downloaded... how would you feel... well now how would you feel if 5 years from now they do the same thing but charge 599 for it... Yeah....

Here's a good message to Sony, if you're going to make a new iteration of something, DON'T SCREW THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE WASTED HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON A DEAD DISC FORMAT YOU CREATED THAT PEOPLE ONLY CONTINUED TO BUY AS IT WAS THE ONLY WAY UNTIL NOW TO PURCHASE THESE GAMES ONLY TO OFFER A FAIRLY COOL REDESIGN THAT ACTUALLY SCREWS THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUPPORTED YOUR SYSTEM UP UNTIL NOW! Sorry for the rant, but honestly a new system(as in completely new PSP2) would have been a better idea completely. Then they'd at least have more of a reason to screw earlier owners and charge the original price of the system.

GOW was cool but don't get me wrong but it seemed like it was cut way too short, but considering they have a longer demo on display, might work out in the end. MAG was kinda cool as it's bringing such a massive scale to the genre, but once again, the market is a little over saturated with FPS games. FFXIII has been shown time and time again only leaving gamers to really say hurry it the $%^& up already, and FFXVI has not only the same issues as L4D2, ME2, etc that it's not only on this platform, but it also shares similar problems with the FPS genre as well. MMO's are becoming over saturated.

Companies have seen that MMO's are such high revenue generators, they're all jumping on the bandwagon, but what they're not seeing is the best revenue generators are the ones that have been running for long periods of time, and have been refined so gamers have no worries with the game. Look at the market now, it started with Hellgate, then Conan, the WAR, then Marvel Online(which was cancelled before release), DC universe, LOTRO, TOR (the old republic) and the list just continues on and on. They should see that producing a high development cost MMO in todays economy is just a high risk and all around bad idea.

Finally PS3 had some exciting exclusives that were announce such as GT5 (a real running video of the game, may not have been in game but it's better than what we've gotten until now, not to mention the inclusion of NASCAR which has to be huge for racing fans alike), The Last Guardian (sorry, this was my show stopper, couldn't help but feel so many emotions throughout that video like when I was seeing that thing cry as the kid walked away, brought me back to SotC. An emotional gaming experience without the need of a story to be actually told, a game that could be understood in almost any language or culture).

Agent sounds interesting but I don't understand what the point of unveiling an exclusive that has absolutely nothing other than a few words about it. No pre renders, no art, natta... ok...

Then there was the Sony "let's jump on the motion control" bandwagon. Ok, I'll give it this, as a game peripheral it does seem to have more possibilities to be used in a variety of games than any other. Being able to detect not only what the wii does but also detect relation in regards to the camera is a nice step forward, but I have this strange feeling that adding another expensive peripheral to an already expensive system won't really sell that many units or consoles as they might think. I was honestly hoping this would have gone to the ps2 to put into direct competition with the wii. Now it has the ability to be a very nice wii for the wealthy.

Like I said, the real show of this E3 was the lineup for psp games with just a massive list of new upcoming psp and they really came through with flying colors. Had the PSP GO not been such a let down I'd say this would have been a landslide victory for Sony, but considering Sony did deliver on most fronts and kept their audiences eyes on their games for their division, I'd say the won by a nose hair, but take it with a grain of salt because really no one should be bragging about this E3. Yes it has been the best one since 2006, that's not saying a whole.

I'd love to hear what you guys think, and I know it's a lot to ask but please refrain from insulting. Criticism is great, insults aren't so much!

Well I buy about 8 games a year and 3 they mentioned at this show are only coming to this console (L4D2, Crackdown 2,Alan Wake). I will likely buy all 3.The Halo game(s) is a maybe. Bioshock II is also a must own for me.Dont care if some other console has it,as long as I do! Forza 3 looks good, but Im more of a Burnout game fan than Forza/Grand Torismo. Saw the IGN vids of L4D2 gameplay..VERY EXCITED as im still enjoying L4D 6 months after buying it.

Nah. Microsoft's Natal was nice I admit. But the rest of their stuff sucked. Everyone keeps taking about Alan Wake, Alan Wake, Alan Wake but Alan Wake looks just like Alone in the Dark. And everyone already knew about the MSG thing and it wasn't even exclusive.Not to mention they had no sense of variety. Just shooters and racing games.Microsoft promised to blow your mind. But as usual Microsoft exaggerates.Also Uncharted 2 was just as if not more impressive then Alan Wake. Alan wake was just another survival shooter where you wave a flashlight around in the darkness and flail at the enemies.In Uncharted 2 I have not seen such flawless animation in a long time.

The Sony Rockstar game is called "Agent" not "Aget," FFXIV is coming to the PC as well as the PS3 and most articles seem to indicate that the ACTUAL LIVE demo of Sony's motion control is FAR more impressive than the pre-produced commercial of the 360's controller in "action."

But the games they showed made me want to upgrade my PC. Alan Wake and Splinter Cell look great, but that was it for MS with me. Nintendo had SMG2 and Metroid Other M which totally surprised everyone. Sony showed that sick FFXIII trailer along with GOW3, UC2, GT5 and Last Guardian.

But Sony and Nintendo did a great job and had the better games overall.
SMG2 and GoW3 will best best games of E3 most likely.

I thought MS's show was best, not because I own an Xbox but because I enjoyed what was happening the most, I mean except for The Beatles and Halo and Facebook it was perfect to me.

I didn't bother with Nintendo but I was pleasantly surprised by their awesome announcements, I admit that I sold Nintendo very short but I still refuse to watch their conference, good announcements Nintendo.

Sony bored my till near death, I was hanging off my bed gasping for air after seeing that display(kidding), but to be honest, the only thing that was entertaining to me was Uncharted 2 & Final Fantasy XIII, , didn't care for MAG, GT, God Of War, Mod Racers, Final Fantasy XIV or much else, and I watched the conference 2 times, once on Justin TV and a second time on G4, but again, that is my opinion.

Personally I would say Microsoft won because of Alan Wake and Splinter Cell: Conviction. I'm a lot more interested in those games than anything Sony or Nintendo showed. Overall they all did pretty well though.

I enjoyed MS's conference the best but will admit that the games that actually got my attention were Alan Wake, Forza3, Conviction, Project shadow, odst, GOW3, MAG (caught me by surprise even though they were not the best of visual), the guardian game was amazing, and Metriod M. Natal destroyed the wimote, and eye toy but then again the eye toy had some good stuff as well. Overall they all did good this year, and the winners are gamers and even fanboys that don't want to admit it.

but I will be playing Uncharted 2 Multiplayer at 12:00 midnight dude! Rock on!

I have been more of a PS3 fan, but I do have a 360 as well and I have to admit this E3 made me start loving my 360 a lot more.

Sony still gave me most of what I wanted. Although it didn't really wow me, it was still a very, very solid presentation.

In my opinion we have to give it to Microsoft this year. They really pulled out all the stops.

Xbox has timed releases which is always big no matter how you look at it. MGS Rising, Mass Effect 2, Lost Planet 2 and most likely Bioshock 2.

Exclusives or not they have Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan wake, Left For Dead 2 which will be for PC as well.

Exclusives are Halo ODST, Halo Reach, Forza 3.

As for project Natal everyone has to realize that this is technology going forward. Anytime new tech of this caliber comes out it creates a buzz, and Microsoft won this show just off this alone. Just wait until this is released, you will know, cause it will be on shows like Good Morning America, all over the internet like now and any news outlet. Now I'm not saying I'm going to buy one for sure, but this type of thing appeals to the masses!!!

As far as Sony goes Uncharted 2 does interest me, but the ones that really interest me have been released MGS4, Killzone 2 and Fall of Man 2. This brings me to my next point, Exclusives do not guarantee anything. Uncharted 1 and Killzone 2 failed to move systems, and software sales have not been all that great either. Exclusives have not worked all the time for xbox either to be fair.

In the end Damn Nintendo will win this Xmas again with there XBOX 1 type graphics!

Yes I know you could come up with a list from MS conference, but every single one of these announcements has me excited.

Honestly, it was fantastic. I was blown away with Microsoft's presentation. The footage and gameplay from SC:Conviction and Halo 3: ODST was astounding. While both games had been previously announced this was the first time we had seen gameplay for ODST and the redone Conviction. Halo: Reach was a pleasant surprise and Forza 3 is shaping up rather nicely. Natal was interesting but I am curious to see how it pans out. Also all the XBL improvements and features were very interesting. The 1080p movie downloads and 360 game downloads were two of the biggest announcements for the whole show for me. And to be quite honest I do not care about Metal Gear Solid, it is a nice addition but I doubt I will get it.

Sony also pulled out a great show. God of War III is looking very good and MAG sounds really appealing. Sadly I do not own a PS3 but regardless I am not going to bash it for that reason. The PSP announcements were probably some of the strongest of E3. I have been thinking of getting a PSP lately and a PSP GO may be exactly what I am looking for. I will wait and see when it comes out. I was really excited to see Assassin's Creed II in the Sony show, it is still coming to the 360 and it will be great, and as long as I got to see it I was happy. All in all it was a really strong performance.

These websites declaring a "winner" are stoking the flames of fanboy wars in order to garner hits and keep the ad revenue rolling in. I do not care what CNET or Gaming Front say, personally I liked Microsoft's conference better for the sole reason I like the games/hardware/services they presented. If you liked the Sony games/hardware/service than Sony's was better. It is simple as that. I have no problem with someone liking something different than me.

MS motion tech was skeptical. Promises on sensational ideals and concepts, but no butter to put on the bread. The avitar motion showed the arms clipping the body, yet it is supposed to detect body parts. The Milo demo showed the water moving before she motioned to it. It was all staged. Off of speak, MS put more up there, but Sony brought it to the table. SC and AW looked great. Forza looked great. That was all that really shook me. MGS was a nice draw, but Kojima took care of that next day. Sony had far more tangible substance.

From looking at Nintendo's games and overall target audience, i'd say it's only true competitor is Playskool. And Playskool has it's own slogan, so Nintendo's screwed.

The only thing that i might disagree with you is that natal does have a scan ability. If you want to use a gun or something, just scan it and use it. Didn't you see that you can scan your skate board and use it? Don't really know what it cans do yet, but there sure are a lot of potential for it. Lets wait and see first before saying something or at least let waits for a price announcement.

Based on this, i think you would love to play Lost Oddyssey. The bread and butter of that game are those thousand years memories stories. You should try it out although you do need to know english (but hey i'm sure you don't have that problem with that wall of text there).

I do agree though that MMO is where the game is at. Man hoping Diablo 3, Guild Wars, WoW etc...can be play on consoles. Star Craft too but you might need keyboard support, but i don't know, what if Project Natal can really shine on RTS games (it seems like it might work really well with RTS games)

360 fans say that M$ won but, Sony showed more exclusive games that will be coming out. Only thing M$ showed that looked good was Alan Wake. I mean FF14, the new ICO project alone topped everything M$ showed. As far as MG Hideo said himself that the PSP MG will get his full attention, unlike the spin-off. I really don't see how having twitter and Project Natal won it for M$. In the past anytime Sony claimed to have the best entertainment system on the market, 360 owners said 360 plays games not movies. Now look the 360 streaming movies and using twitter. PS3 has been pushing the envelope on all around entertainment, the 360 is trying to catch up. You all know damn well you won't be trying through imaginary paint on an imaginary canvas.

Not consider it unworthy, I just don't have much interest in owning two handhelds and further hurting my wallet. Again that does not make me narrow minded. That makes me realistic.

I don't use Facebook or Twitter, but can't you check that stuff out using the PS3 web browser?

I would agree with the article that Microsoft brought their best to the show... HOWEVER, at the end of the day, gaming is about games, and Microsoft didn't bring their games this year. Sorry, Sony wins, as much as I'd like to say MS took it.

I think Microsoft had the best conference simply because they had the best and most interesting games, the big announcement of getting MGS on the platform, a ton of cool stuff for the Live service and the show-stealing Natal demonstration. Forza 3, Alan Wake and Splinter Cell were the biggest games of the show for me.

Sorry, but I prefer games, not tech that may never see the light of day this gen. Natal isn't gonna make anyone buy a 360 tomorrow, or even this year. Tech without games is useless to me. MS didn't win anything. They damn near lost me all together with that god awful 10 minute Beatles propoganda to start the show. What's funny is how all these MS supporters are suddenly Wii wannabes in disguise, literally overnight. I'll put up GOW3 over Milo any day. 1. Alan Wake (Amazing, just Amazing!!!)
2. GOW3 (See my 1/2 Kratos avatar and the trailer = EPIC!!)
3. Splinter Cell Conviction (Like playing 24 or the movie TAKEN,WOW!)
4. Modern Warfare 2 (It is Infinity Ward, E3 gameplay just comfirmed IW are FPS Wizards!)
5. Uncharted 2 (graphics is out of this world...and adrenalin filled)
6. Forza 3 (10x more polygons than Forza 2, best racer ever IMO. Oct can't come soon enough)
7. Mass Effect 2 (Best storyline in gaming and will be best RPG ever)
8. Halo ODST (dropped down a few spots but Halo: Reach beta got me excited)
9. Assassin's Creed 2 (this one is bigger and badder than the first, baddass trailer)
10. Bioshock 2 (love the first one and no doubt this game will be great)

My 'Wake stab' wasn't malicious, I call it as I see it, and yes there are similarities to Alone in the Dark and no the game isn't coming out this year. I'm not intimidated by some generic "gaming press", or do you always like what you're told to? ;)

Naw but that's cool if you like other stuff. Tastes are different. I already have KZ2 and inFamous right now, and I will be getting MAG in the fall as well as Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank, maybe Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, possibly Heavy Rain and/or Quantum Theory by the end of the year or next anyways, and GOW3, The Last Guardian and FF14 for sure next year. No lack of games, and I'm not even looking at Gran Turismo 5 or ModNation Racers, I don't buy every single exclusive. All I'll be playing on 360 is L4D2 and Splinter Cell until Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake come along, which I was never stabbing, but it does look derivative in a couple ways so sue me. So yeah. My taste in games is slanted the other way. I wanted more from 360 than what I got. Comment wasn't directed at you, but those picking winners based on tech demos rather than actual games.

Actually, I'm the winner since I have all three systems. I got to see new info on Alan Wake, Forza 3, Splinter Cell, Mario Galaxy, Metroid, Uncharted 2, MAG, GoW3, The Last Guardian, GT5, the LBP/Mario Kart game, plus announcements of Crackdown 2, the Agent, and FFXIV.

I couldn't care less about new motion gimmicks, to be honest.

Yeah Sony won big time :D But Nintendo also made some awesome new announcements ^^ Metroid: Other M, Hell yeah!

I think some people make comments on here just to get a rise out of people. Sony did not have the celebrity fanfare I admit but content wise they went unmatched. Microsoft may have had the most entertaining but as far as what they had to offer it was weak.

1.) they added media features that I have been using on PS3 since I got it. Everything they showed as far as media content the PS3 can do already.

2.) Natal was smoke and mirrors. The Milo characters were being manipulated by people off screen. The Eye Toy does everything the Natal is supposed to do. Seriously guys, Trials of topoq anyone? and the other Eyetoy games that let you control the game with your hands.

3.) Sony showed more games by far and had the most INFORMATION.

What conference did you guys watch seriously. They also had more new content, New not a bunch of crap the other consoles had. Holla at me sometime I will show you that I can twitter, youtube, stream movies, and all that sh*t on the PS3. How the hell did Microsoft pass any of this off as new?

cant see how microsoft won and natal is not changing gaming at all. it was a eye toy 2.0
