I think both Microsoft and Sony had very comparable showings. Sony had some great looking games, and Microsoft had Natal. I look forward to experiencing them all myself. Nintendo had MG2, everything else was just not doing it for me.

I think I really overhyped Sony's conference for myself. I was expecting White knight, Twisted Metal, and a price cut. I still think they rocked with exclusives, but I admit I set the bar really high and was really waiting for the PS3 price cut!!!

i am disapointed. I thought this was supposed to be the biggest e3 for sony in history. Hell even last year was better. There is hardly any exclusives coming this year. Microsoft won this e3 without a doubt!!

Some of the exclusives in the sony conference were ruined a little because we've been hearing about sony exclusives all year basically, but for people who haven't been keeping up with the news it was a stacked showing.

Sonys confrence was poor to say the least, it was boring spending too much time on the over priced psp go, i thought gow3 was a bit of a let down (it looked good but it was just the same as the previous 2 installments, they didnt seem to be any evolution in the gameplay).
FF14 was a surprise but then i realised its online only so that was a disapoitment and they never showed any thing new on trico or gt5

Finally the wii mote rip off, if i were Sony i would have left that out completely after watching the project natal yesterday, and dont even get me started on the two guys presenting it.

I thought MS actually showed more new titles than Sony and I was aware of pretty much everything they showed. However the FF14 MMO and Agency from Rockstar were big surprises.

I was hoping they were going to skip the charts and graphs but they kept it to a minimal.

The motion controller was alright, it looked rough but I understand it's still just a prototype. I have a feeling Sony will have it out before Natal hits and I might actually pick one up if the price is right.

Didn't feel they needed a new PSP but it looks sexy but knew all about that before the show.

Capcom finally revealed their secret game 2, an RE for PSP. Feel let down, I was hoping for an old IP making debut on current gen consoles, such as Dino Crisis or a new Onimusha. However, looking forward to it, but I still feel we have seen too much of RE.

I'm not even going to comment on the Nintendo because i don't own a Wii, nor i plan on buying one.
The Sony and Microsoft shows were ok, it's cool we get to find out more of the games and a couple nice surprises, but nothing really mindblowing from either. I could care less about all the gadgetry, and social networking stuff( Twitter, Facebook and whatever else Microsoft announced, i think last-FM) I can get all of those applications on my phone already. i just want some kick ass games, GOW III, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell, MAG, Uncharted 2, Etc.

Overall, it was a decent show with no clear winner, though Sony seems to have a few more exclusive IPs tipping the scale on their favor. i'm just glad Sony and Microsoft are competing with each other for our hard earn cash.

Sony won it for me on the simple fact they showed more games I want to play.

I love my 360, but MS' conference showed a lot of stuff I didn't care about (streaming movies etc), and not enough games I want to play. Alan Wake looked atmospheric, but a bit too Res Evil 4 meets Alone in the Dark. It's becoming clear that MGS Rising is not something Hideo Kojima wants anything to do with, so I'm cautious about it.

Wii Motion Plus - nothing they showed appeared to really leverage the 1:1 motion

MS' Natal. Looked extremely cool. But I wonder when we will see this for purchase, and how well it will really work, and how much it'll cost. The stuff they showed was uninspiring (Wii Fit rip off) or gimicky (racing game), or just crap (paint demo). Peter Molyneaux just spouted as usual, and it was obvious that Milo was pretty specifically coded and lacked the level of AI they claim. But I could see potential for Natal, it just wasn't a show stopper.

Sony showed off a turbo charged Wiimote. But their demo's were entertaining and showed the kinda stuff I had hoped the Wii would do more of.

Overall, Sony takes it easily on quality and quantity. MS showed no clear strategy. And Nintendo are just milking the world dry.

owned every MS exclusive, even the "best-looking" game Alan Wake! It was the "best-looking" Console game, until Sony showed Project Trico (The last Guardian), Uncharted 2 and God of War 3. Come on Milo, let us go play some Trico...oooh wait you dont own a PS3!

An exclusive from Rockstar? Wow and another Final Fantasy. That is it.

Sony fans can quickly reel off 10 games that are exclusive to the Ps3 and say the Ps3 is so good.

I can do the same thing for Nintendo

Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Metroid, Super Mario Bros Wii, Wii Sports Resort, Dead Space, Conduit, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers, Gladiator AD, The Grinder, No More Heroes 2, Red Steel 2, Silent Hill Wii, Grand Slam Tennis, Metroid Trilogy, Fragile

And the list goes on and on. Nintendo won E3 for me with 2 games that no one can compare to.. Mario Galaxy and Metroid. No other console can compete with those franchises.

Sony by far had the best showing and there is no doubt about it. They had more games and much more content. The PSP stuff alone outdoes anything Nintendo and Microsoft had to offer. How can you guys write off all of that content. Sony has far more exclusives compared to both Microsoft and Nintendo. The motion sensor for Sony was super accurate and has more potential then Natal, also no one has brought up the fact that the eyetoy is already doing what the Natal is supposed to do. We also already knew about alot of the 2009 line up for Sony and they added the Final Fantasy game, The racing, Game and Agent. Microsoft had a good showing but no where near what Sony offered. Are you guys really that biased? How can you not look at all of content that each company offered and not see that they had the most by far. Do a list or some visual aid so that you can see without a doubt that Sony provided the most and with the best quality. What does any of the other two companies have to offer to compete with Sony's new games?

M$ Show was just a show for casuals & Alan Wake is another game i played before & have no love 4 it. what else games they have? oh metal gear rising & Its with the white blooded scout who had man sex with Vamp. seriously raiden? yeah, xbutts... not that cool you morons. They had no defining tech or software other than Splinter Cell. What did they show that every thinks is so great? Someone create an academic comparison and unbiased comparison and it is clear to see how lop sided it was in Sony's Favor. The PSP content alone destroys anything showed by Nintendo or Microsoft. The conectivity features are amazing as well as all the games and the PS3 content was very strong with lots of EXCLUSIVE content not to mention UNIQUE content. You know that mod racing game looks amazing and easy to use. Final Fantasy, Last Gaurdian, Agent( even though nothing was shown which sucks) and Gran Turismo 5 is an amazing list that cant be competed with. Someone prove me wrong.

People are mad at Sony because most of their news got leaked. If you stop reading articles on N4G or any other gaming sites you would be very pleased with their conference.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
