With the recent release of Dread, it's time to look back on the history of Metroid and rank the best — and the worst.
Best (for me) would be the first Metroid Prime. It was simply amazing the first time i played it. so deep and challenging while also turning the series completely into something that felt new and fresh.
Worst (for me) is most likely Other M. I can appreciate what they were trying to go for but it just felt flat and played out.
Looking at the rest of the list, I never played Federation Force but i have played the rest. Pinball is still one of my favorites to play now and then.

Hollow Knight come damn near close to knocking Super Metroid from the top of my list, that’s a huge achievement for such a small team.
The problem for me is I’ve been waiting for a 2D Metroid that beats Super but I don’t think I’ll ever see that day. I still play the original 1-2 times a year and a few randomiser plays.
Fully agree with the list and all points it makes for each game. I’m expecting Dread to fit in the middle of that list but I’m happy to be wrong about that.
Neocrisis - It seems that the ship in this years "The Predator" movie has taken some inspiration from Metroid. To be more specific, the ship shown in "The Predator" teaser trailer looks similar to Samus Aran's Gunship.
Wait! Did Samus just destroy something with her breast? Yup! Definately a Team Ninja game! =)

WTF is this?!!1? I hadn't heard of this game. Thought it was a joke at first.
I am not exactly a Nintendo lover these days but I think this looks great. I am stoked to hear Samus speak for once and find out more about her
Wow , a thats how I always envisioned metroid would be in 3D, sorry but the prime series just never cut it for me
