This is the first E3 I've really kept track of and so far the hype and speculation has been far more interesting than the actual announcements.

As an owner of all three consoles this was blah. Didnt sony do the thing with the camera already??? Yay a new Halo? Not a true sequel. Yay Modern Warfare 2 maps. I didnt buy a 360 for them to improve on 2005 ideas. I wanted something mind blowing. Not disappointed but this was def lukewarm.

Overall i think the press conference was ok they had nothing that made me go OMG and the MGS thing was expected ( at least by me it was) it was not like the FFXII announcement last year that came out of nowhere and I think the coolest thing from the conference was forza everything else was just so-so for me but of course this is only my opinion

As a Sony fan I was not looking forward to the conference but it turned out to be fairly good. I thought the FF XIII was a bigger deal than the MGS: R announcement. I am looking forward to the game and see what is actually is before deciding. Is it a spin off or a totally new game? Was it developed by Kojima's second team to shut up fanboys or is it MGS5.

I have browsed over the forums and there is a mixed responses some saying MS have strayed into Wii territory while other say it is the best to date.

On Topic I think edge is a little over the top. It was the first conference and should compared to all 3.

But in the end, Alan Wake still looks like the only must have game coming out for 360. Xbox Fail conference

That conference was absolutely perfect. Spielberg, Ringo Star, Paul McCartney....just for starters. Then they show FFXIII, exclusive Rockband Beatles songs, Conviction 09 release, ODST 09 release and Halo REACH (can't wait for this if its like the book), Crackdown 2 09 release, Forza 3 09 release, Raiden coming to 360, MW2 timed exclusive DLC, L4D2 09 release and a TON of NATAL info and demo. This will be amazing, voice/feature recognition. The only downside was that Alan Wake is a SPRING 2010 release....that's 1 year away. But i would say it was a very tough act to follow.

And judging by all the quick Sony Droid post to do damage control, i am assuming i will get a ton of disagrees...but it doesn't matter cause Droids are too ignorant to accept a good conference and listen to idiots who say they talk to Sony reps on twitter....LOL

Good luck Sony. Can't wait to see what they have in store for me as well...but if they don't focus mainly on the PS3 and games that will be coming out in the remainder of 09 and something to compete with MS's NATAL or something to help revolutionize gaming...then i am afraid this will be yet another E3 that MS will walk away holding the crown.

@Insomnia_84 - NATAL =/= PSEYE. There are some simularities but not to the extent of NATAL...at least not with the current info on the web for PSEYE at the moment. Maybe Sony will have more info.

@Obama - You are a super ignorant Droid. To think that the MS conference was not great just shows your ignorance. I am looking forward to the SOny conference as i said but Sony has multiple consoles on the market. Thus them increasing the time to 2 hours may also be because they have a lot of info regarding the PS2, PSP and new PSP GO, PS3 as well as numbers and sales about blu-ray and adaptation. If they talk too much about anything outside of the PS3 than it holds nothing for me as i only have a PS3. Sony needs to show what they are going to do to counter the NATAL which will probably be a motion controller, and what games do we know about that will be 09 releases that will counter the 09 releases that MS said.

From what i have seen it looks good but again not going to enhance gaming experiences. The eyepet looks cool...but nothing different than my Eye of Judgement game interactions with the cards.

Overall conference was decent, but not great. Still a bit better than last year's presentation though, which had almost no games. Pretty predictable lineup, though.

I'd say they had a great show. Showed some solid games and amazing tech. No need to hate on them, gamers everywhere win. Now Sony and Nintendo need to step up.

All I know is, any gamer worth their salt, no matter their console preference, is going to have a hurting wallet this year and next.

My one disappointment? Fanboys being children on this site. That and monsters/supernatural in Alan Wake, I was really hoping for it to transcend and be a "mature" adult story with PEOPLE. Still, it'll be a great game.

But a few things. I'm not a fan of MS or the 360 but I watched it anyways and to say they did something super spectacular amazing and beyond belief is um...a bit of exaggeration.

Alan Wake looked...well...um...boring. Modern Warfare I think just had a bad demo. Like they showed the beginning and a firefight. Best part was getting on the snowmobile and shooting at pursuers, but I sure hope (and it probably will) it gets better later on in the game. Halo was Halo and I'm still waiting for Bungie to start on something non-Halo. I got to say that MGS Rising and Splinter Cell look pretty dang cool or at least Splinter Cell does (since we did get to see footage of it) which is cool cause the other Splinter Cell games were okay, but not great.

Also, it bothered me that MS is trying to turn their console into the ultimate casual machine now (please don't shoot me). But Facebook? Twitter? Don't get me started on how silly the games using the camera make these people look, and I'm primarily a Wii gamer. I can't imagine anything complex being used with that devise, but I do think that the face and voice recognition is cool. But overall, I felt like the guy up there was more about getting all the game out of the way so he can show off how "family" friendly the 360 is going to be...which, if I remember the initial reaction to Nintendo doing that correctly, is bad. Lol, just kidding about that last part, it's cool that they are doing that, Malstrom predicted it so I knew it was going to happen, but I can't even see a avid Xbox user using over half the stuff they mentioned nor could I see a non-xbox user suddenly be trying to use that stuff either.

Wasn't much going on aside from the camera and 'Milo' for me. Alan Wake looks like another Max Payne game with a few horror twists (no problems there, also can no longer be compared to what Heavy Rain is trying to do) a bunch of completely pointless networking features and annoyingly the reveal of Crackdown 2...but just with a bloody CG trailer, freaking annoying!
Oh yeah, another Halo is all good.

Hopefully both of tomorrow's shows will be more about actual gaming and actual unrevealed NEW games all the way through.

Being a 360 owner, I'm more than satisfied what Microsoft did this year. They released more games than I could ever imagine. Crackdown 2, Halo: Reach, Forza 3 (LOOKS FREAKING AMAZING) Alan Wake (OMG), Splinter Cell (HOLY FREAKING JESUS), Left 4 Dead 2...

Microsoft just raised the bar! Sony needs to come in swinging hard if they have any chance to equal Microsoft's e3.

and Splinter Cell both proved that not only has 360 not reached its limits, but all that crap from sony about the power of the cell, and this and that can't be done on anyother console, was pure bullsh1t!

As far as im concerned, soon as they said Crackdown 2 was coming, they won the show. Tomorrow Sony will just announce a bunch of crap that wont see the light of day till 2014. Even then most of it will under deliver when it does launch. Why can't the world just admit Sony lost this gen, its been over for them a long time now.

About Microsoft:
-We do know MS usually don't announce much past 6 months.(That seems to be how they play) I'm not sure but MS didn't report any Sale numbers, unless I missed it which was unusual.

-How much did they pay that Paul Mccartny guy?...(sheesh) I thought that was an early but pleasant surprise.

-The multiplatform games are there to sell.(Plenty to choose from)

-The exclusives(though not that much but a lot of sequels will keep gamers happy till and through the holiday push. after all, this still is about Market-share and sales at the end of the day.

I think Adding more functionality to XBOX LIVE is huge. XBOX live just keep getting better.(I thought that was one area MS would be stagnant in being the first to be successful at it). They touched a little bit of Social gaming/communication/ getting connected/entertainment features and more media to choose from.

After weeks of hearing what Kojima would or would never do and all this jibber jabber. Well, when it comes to business decisions one man, is not stronger than the company and you just can't ignore a successful console. Kojima's announcement was the "Shocker".

Just wait till tomorrow something more amazing than what you seen today will be showing. Splinter cell isnt that amazing. It does not function in 1080p like Ps3 games do so graphics wise it hasnt beaten killzone 2, Uncharted 2 or GOW3. So please stop before you make an idiot of yourself.

kojima big announcement come tomorrow

The Kojima announcement came after the part of the show where a Microsoft rep came out and said the rest of the games are 360 exclusives because the first part was all 3rd party multiplatform.

Can't wait for LFD 2 (didn't buy the first one but I'll have to buy the new one), Crackdown 2, Natal (think of the possibilities), MGS Raiden (I'll reserve judgement until I know exactly what it is).

Other than PS3 blind followers, I don't understand why people aren't excited about Natal. Everyone was pretty excited by the Wii and what it could bring and the Wii isn't even in the ballpark of Natal's possibilities. Flicking a wrist or moving one arm isn't anywhere near what can be done when you're entire body is the control. You also have to think this could get girlfriends, families, people who have never played games before to try it even more than the Wii did. I'm just concerned about how much it might cost.

Either way, pretty good show by Microsoft. I have no problem with Sony and they're console/games but with MGS (assuming it's good) on 360 now, the only game I really would like to play is God of War 3 (please let Microsoft take that one next year lol)

Can any real fan say this was a great conference ? I doubt it. sure forza 3 looked sweet in the replays , but in game takes a hit . splinter cell played well. Alan Wake looked dreadful. but i like the gameplay . l always liked silent hill.
Epic game looked the best, but still looked like a UT3/GoW clone, not a bad thing but you know what i mean. LFD 2 just tried too hard and gore was way OTT, I still play it mind lol.

it seems that microsoft's intention is to one up sony on things they announced like eyepet or the drawings before they get it out.that's good.keeps sony on their toes.sony might have to keep their cards closer and show nothing until they drop it.

I was waiting so badly this conference to assist finally the return of RARE. A true sequel to perfect dark 64 would have done the job. But i was really disappointed especially that rare teased early this year that they will reveal several projects that will surprise us. Is there any hope to see something in the next 3 days ? i don't know but i hope that Microsoft won't ask them to delay there games to adapt them for the new natal project.

Today was great! It was good to see some Alan Wake and get a general release time frame. ODST another must have for me as well as splinter cell. XBL keeps getting better and better! Now lets see what the PS3 has in store for us. This going to be a great year for gaming. The PS3 portion should be great as well.

No one is DYING OF JEALOUSY. Get a grip of yourself 360ers, the show was OK at best. The ups (Crackdown 2, Alan wake) were strongy put down by the downs (Beatles? FAIL, Milo? Fail =/ MGS:R? Left over spin off FAIL) so it was a decent show.

Did impress (expected less) but nothing to be JEALOUS of, only if Sony FAIL's badly. So stop covering up for insecurities, no one is jealous here, nobody even REALLY cares except that it was the 1st (and only) E3 conference so far, people are bored and awake so they comment.

Its no big deal, get over yourselves and your console, and face it: people don't get jealous over press conferences and games, it doesn't happen. If it does, that kid / guy is probably too busy playing his beloved console right now.

MS impressed me today. They didn't come out stating stats & numbers. 1080p streaming movies?1 Online radio?! Nepal just did it with me. Motion & voice sensoring?! I think nobody expected a show like this. This goes to show now it's not about "exclusives" anymore. Nepal is going to take gaming to the next level. The tech demo with the little kid with Peter and the painting canvas game did it for me. Control the 360 dashboard with just the wave of my hands?! LOL!! Damn, I love technology!

MS conference was boring, no surprises...we all knew about MGS:R.

But we still need to see what nintendo and Sony have up their sleeve, before an article can say that Microsoft stole the show. But for people who trying to down grade the Microsoft line up, needs to quit. What happen to all the real gamers. I love games not consoles, I may prefer one over another, but when it all comes down to it, it is all about the games. And, I was impress and surprise with what was shown today from Microsoft.

Games were great. And the good news is most the games are coming out this year. Splinter Cell and Alan Wake looked awesome but my biggest shock was the amount of new things they are bringing to Xbox Live... I would go as far to say Xbox`s best E3 ever. I did not expect so many new features, games and announcements.

Edge has only to shut up, cause that's a nonsense. Like "the best scene in the movie is this one, we can go now" says the guy in the cinema, 10 mins after the new movie started.. and the rest?

Sorry mind not blown. Microsoft announced things that everyone knew was coming, boasted about games that are probably coming for the PS3 as well. We even knew about the whole MGS franchise coming to the Xbox 360. You guys didn't even get MGS4. And who knows when this new MGS title is coming out.Finally the whole Natal thing not only looked gimmicky but clumsy as well as shown by the guy who tried to paint a picture. Microsoft didn't even give a price or definite date that this tech would be available to Xbox users. Also there is no guarantee that it would work a perfectly as advertised. I mean Nintendo has barely got their motion controls working.Even their exclusives are nothing but another wave of shooters and racing games, just like always. Once again Microsoft exaggerates and the Xbots fall for it.Nothing ever changes

Looking forward to Alan Wake and Splinter Cell. Otherwise, it was mostly multi-platform games and a motion control system that is very unlikely to be implemented in mainstream hardcore games, which is what I typically play.

On the concept of the camera, it won't become mainstream for many reasons (1. less people will use a camera over standard hand-held controllers for the mass majority of games; 2. complexity of integration into most third-gen technological and complex games; 3. Recognition of multiple moving sections during play, especially at parties).

While the videos shown look freaking great, you have to understand that they're marketing videos intended to show the ideal and penultimate purpose of the device, not the actual use. ESPECIALLY WITH REGARD TO MOLYNEUX! That damn guy has failed to deliver fully on any of his technological concepts. Unless you somehow think a meter deciding whether you're good or evil is a complex living system in which you can mold the world around you by just eating food...

Also, how the heck are they going to stream 1080p videos to any device at such a speed that it defies the average download speeds of most broadband speeds out there and yet claim it will come immediately and seemlessly? Also, streaming is f'n downloading, so, yeah, you HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE MOVIES. Especially the Zune, which will have at best a a/b/g wifi card (and that's pushing it, likely only a/b with a lot of heat and power usage when on) and the 360 wireless adapter can't get above 56 mbps speed. You would need at least 400 mbps speeds to download and view a 1080p movie, and even then it would be at a greatly subpar quality compared to Blu-ray. Seriously horrific in comparison.

Great show. 2009 is shaping up to be a great year for gamers abroad.

Although i did not see anything to wow me personally. Alan Wake suspense seems good, but that is not my cup of tea. Halo on Halo doing Halo is not what i expected. Natal is casual as of now, i dont like casual focus consoles. CoD MW 2 is more of the same, buy in different places(feather weight gun).

I think MS did so great because many of us expected nothing, but just because it has something does not make it a steal of E3, just a nice surprise

Seems to me like all MS can do now is try to duplicate what the other two consoles have been successfully doing since they really have no drop dead exclusive games this year to brag about.

The whole motion control thing is good for a little while, than you want to play real games that require a controller with buttons to mash. Plus, having to shell out another couple of hundred bucks for a camera so that I can jump up and down doesn't really sound that exciting. (Anyone remember when MS said that the Wii was not their competition but just the PS3?)

I didn't really see anything that impressed me a whole lot. They obviously are trying to milk the crap out of Halo.

Who cares about FB, Twitter, Music,etc. I'd prefer to use a PC or iPhone for those things.

Watching the conference was almost torture. The guys up on stage weren't really entertaining to watch. The audience remained fairly quiet the entire time.

I hope Sony and Nintendo can show us something to really get excited about, but I doubt they will either.

They showed the "Eye Pet" last year with voice recognition, and the ability to take a drawing and make it into a toy for the pet. I'm not going to bother reading the article but i will say that i thought MS had a really good conference , paticularly excited about Forza3 , Sky tv , Alan Wake and "Natal".

Now looking forward to what Sony are going to do , hoping it's every bit as good.

Sony's conference just ended. The most underwhelming conference of the three. At least Nintendo announced Mario Galaxy 2 and the New Metroid. Sony anounced what, the last guardian(lol) and Final Fantasy XIV (mmo) as an exclusive? LOL.
