Glad he finally woke up. This is exactly the type of game I like to play, just like Heavy Rain, Indigo Prophecy and such. Games that are games but still feel like some movie..

INCRREDIBLE open world game best graphics to date on a console this game has acres of areas to explore yet it looks amamzing goty for sure this game has an amamzing story and god how its told is just amamzing

Looking at what was announced, this is the only one I would consider is AAA, looking at its production values. The environmental lighting is sparse but very good. The atmosphere is very scary and great! The sound design is very good with the creaking trees and rustling. There is some nice lightplay, but unfortunately that does not apply for what I would consider is the most important light... your flashlight. The flashlight beam casts no shadows. Looking at the first attacks from the shadow guys with the axes and picks, when Alan places the flashlight on them, they do not cast shadows behind or below them. However, the flares do, so maybe its just unimplemented at the moment. Either way, this is definitely a worthy title, and the only one it seems to me worth a buy title for the 360 this year.

Edit: I mean next year. And happily i can get this for PC.... so i guess, I'll get to enjoy it as well.

Holy milkers Batman!!! That looks soooo damn good! I knew Remedy would not let people down as they started to show the game.

No doubt one of the best looking games and just the whole atmosphere sucks you right in.

anyway, can't wait for this game (story driven games are so few and far between, and the latest Silent Hill was a HUGE let down). it's just a shame that it's not releasing this year. i was hoping i could have an Alan Wake/Heavy Rain story based gaming combo this fall/winter.

ah well.

graphically, it looks decent, but games like Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2 have really set a visual bar that i haven't seen met yet.

in the end, i really hope the story and gameplay are as intriguing as it looks now.

i think my only real issue in general is does practically EVERY major 360 exclusive release have to involve shooting? seriously.

Crackdown, Lost Planet, Gears of War (both of them, obviously), Halo, even the damn RPGs (Mass Effect), have to revolve around shooting. Alan Wake, which appears to be a story driven adventure game even has shooting.

if there is one thing i commend about PS3 exclusives (besides the visuals), is that each of the major exclusives tend to feel different from one another gameplay wise. not just another shooter with a new character skin on it.

i'd like to see more diversity of gameplay from Microsoft's exclusives in the future.

Thought it looked very good, and i'm glad we finally got to see more. Just hope they won't go for a Secret Window style story line though.

better than RE5 or PS3 exclusives like Killzone 2. Or 360 exclusive games like Gears 2. Low-res textures all over the place. It looks like Siren: blood curse actually.

of course it's gonna go the way of the secret window? how's that a bad thing if it's all we've seen from the trailers?

Why waste money on a game where Alan Wake isn’t in it for a good part of the game. Also, since you don’t own the game and they can cut you off at anytime why would you buy that many. Unless she was going to resell them for a profit, charity give away, or something like that.
