it just means we have a good variety of games to pick from, therefore you dont see 2 or 3 games selling 4+ million but you will see 6 or 7 games selling 1 to 3 million

While Gran Turismo 3 sold the most with 14.9 million copies.

yeah i remember that, i used to buy what ever game had the coolest cover, i think that still applies to the average wanna be hardcore gamer. Im talkin bout the gamer who doesnt know the existance of IGN, gamefaqs etc, the game who bought GTA4 because everyone else does and buys a game everyweek gamer who thinks he's hardcore because of it ;p

most of my customers at gamecrazy seem to fall in that category, rarely do i get a gamer who knows about games and doesn't need to ask a question.

Oh, those heady days of buying Mastertronic titles for my Speccy for £1.99, and if they were uber they would be £2.99!!!

And anticipating EVERY release by Ocean, as they always made the best games, but having to wait for birthday/Xmas to get a game that cost 7.99 - 9.99!!

I used to do that too but now that the prices of games are expensive I'm trying to keep up with games and read about them as much as I can. I don't want to spend $60 for a game I'm gonna end up regretting purchasing (Happened and learned my lesson).

All I have to do is mention 1 fact that makes the 360 better, then im banned fom the gamerzone for 1 week.

Killzone 2, inFAMOUS, MAG, GOW3, GT5, Heavy Rain, and Uncharted 2. Only a fanboy would say that not ONE of those games peak their interest. I for one am extremely happy with that lineup and look forward to each and every one of these games!

aswell as demon souls trinity soul,Gran turismo 5 quantum theory, new Team Ico game, final fantasy versus 13 etc. happy empty wallet days :D

As for who would argue with it, I would! Because it would mean that at some point I would have to figure out which game I would want more out of the whole list of games coming out which means one would have to be sacrificed :(.

As long as a jobs are available not much to complain about awesome games are coming!

Yea. Xbox 360 has the most good games.

i slightly must disagree, while my fav xbox exclusive was the once exclusive ninja gaiden and halo 3 i will disagree with u.

i own all 3 consoles and i count how many good exclusives r on the 360.

may sound fanboyish but i own all of these exclusives for the consoles, plus duh the multiplat stuff

if you count games coming soon to PS3 count Uncharted 2 (and 1), MAG, Heavy Rain and GOW3 to the list.

Also covered in the RPG department in light of Monster Hunter Tri~ :). Though I agree with the list of games, the combination of owning at least a PS3 and Wii is pretty nice. A lot of games coming out for the PS3, while waiting for some of the Wii's good games to localize themselves in various parts of the world. Overall the Wii isn't to shabby these days to be honest and the PS3 is doing exceptionally well.

As far as my knowledge goes to both links they only have those two up, so I'm not sure about a Microsoft one as of yet.

shooters will always be generic if you just look it for face value. same with any game that fits within its GENRE! there will always be staple qualities that help the game be identifiable with a certain style of play. it's the groundbreaking title like Gears that added a little cover system or Uncharted that added better level design and exploration.

People who say that take every 360 games including XBLA 10$ games, which are often reviewed 80+, but anybody can see Infamous or MGS4 or LBP is infinitely superior to $hits like rez hd or geometry wars.

So, keep your XBLA games and metacritic averages (which is biased by the tons of american 12 year old websites accepted by meta, by the way), and we'll keep our REAL AAA full games.

If you take full games, PS3 wins easily.

you can't count old games over evalueted , xbox is way down in years that counts (2008/2009), and you can't compares notes from ps3 with a an other system (inferior)

if you average games on a system that has over 300 games against a system with 100 games with more quality control then obviously the number will be higher. My huge issue is he is lumping ds games and wii games in the same pile and averaging those then taking only the small number of titles for ps3 and averaging those then comparing like it proves anything. It is absolutely a flawed methodology and while the average may say ps3 has a better track record... the other system still has more games and it could potentially have more high rated titles overall compared to the other and that just wont show.

PS --some maths courtesy of metacritic... ps3 does have more 80 or higher games then wii. in fact wii has 52 80 or higher games and ps3 has 102... howeve this author lumped toghether ds and wii so it's actially 128 titles 80 or better vs 102... but before you get all giddy you should know... 360 has 142 games that are rated 80 or better... which is probably why he left them out of the "research"

Buying a high quality game is not a hit or miss these days. You're basically talking about it as if gamers are blindfolded and are pinning a tail on a donkey and with the PS3 they have a higher chance. If a gamer even has half a brain he does a little research before he goes out a buys a game. If you can get more higher quality games on the 360, then all you have to do is research what those games are and go get them.

The 360 has become a haven for 3rd party developers because its easy to develop for, it's had a year head start (more popular, better sales), and Microsoft tosses more cash at them for timed exclusivity. It's bound to have more high quality titles. Because of this, there is also a lot of shovelware on the 360. People say there are like 300 more games on 360. But how many of those are actually worth buying. Both consoles are pretty much on a level playing field.
