No problemo lloyd! I guess that explains the confusion (I didn't click the link I just saw Kotaku and sighed :P). If Kojima was going to make a game for the 360, I'd prefer it wasn't a MGS... I'm sure he's got plenty of original ideas he could be going with, but it's looking like it's going to be an announcement for MGS5 either way... I was happy with mgs4 been the end of them all.

@lloyd_wonder: I think it's because people examined the site source code and found that there will be 5 countdowns last one ending June 1st also it appears there are five stages in the storm.

my opinion of this is fake but the only time i could see something like this happening was if the numbers went past a prominent date in raidens life(virtual life lol) or raidens codec number maybe idk

Written in large, bold font and periodically flashing onto the stormy landscape of Kojima Productions' "Next" teaser site before slowly fading out, the number 5 has now appeared alongside a countdown timer that's presumably for the Metal Gear Solid developer's next announcement.

The teaser site, which emerged last week as expected, is now clearly suggesting that Kojima's next project will be Metal Gear Solid 5. As we previously reported, the site's source code also lists "MGS" and "Metal Gear" as keywords for the webpage.

Additionally, the splash page's new countdown timer is currently set with approximately 84 hours left as we go to press. To save you doing the maths, this means it will run out at 2:00am BST this coming Friday. Why so early? Because 2 o'clock in the morning for us is 10 o'clock in the morning for Japan.

So, is it going to be ? In short, yes, although the hint lacks the subtlety that we've come to expect from Kojima and his team, so perhaps it's just a red herring.

It's not obligation, its perfection, he(Kojima) said it himself. He is a perfectionist and likes to be an achiever of new things. He mentioned in a DVD I think it was on MGS3, MGSaga VOL.2 and MGS4 Special Edition Extra Feature Disc. He always wants to be first in doing something on new platforms. Since the PS3 was announced he decided to go ahead and create MGS4. Also to back up the perfectionist point, He was still disappointed at how MGS4 turned out. Not because of the sales, but because he could of/wanted to do more. Which I completely understand his point of view.

Konami gave Kojima his own studio and the team he has been working with all this time. Then Kojima was brought into the Board of Directors. So in regards to making that decision Kojima has a big say in it. Honestly Konami wouldn't be as big as it is now with out Kojima and they know it(Hence why they gave him his own studio and became part of the BOD.). Think about it for a minute, What if Kojima was not with Konami?

As for your "can always be bought." comment, that's true company's can be bought or swayed. But then the whole market would be saturated with mediocre games. Is that what you like?

Close to 5 million reasons come to mind of why it wouldnt be exclusive to the 360. Plus, he already has a perfectly fine engine running for the PS3. It just makes no sense...

If it does, it would suck. He is a genius and even though I love him, I wont be just another hypocrite on this site. I will have to miss out on his next game.

The way you defend Kojima's ties to Sony and the PS3 are just sad, blind drivel. Kojima can achieve many things on the 360, the ONLY advantage that the PS3 gives him is disc space which never seemed to bother him before. As for you trying to make it seem like I want all companies to be bought so we can have mediocre games- I don't even know what you are talking about. Considering that Sony's best games are all first/second party besides MGS4, maybe it would be a good idea if most of the devs were bought by the big boys. Kojima has never been opposed to the idea of working with the 360, and I'm sure he has been pushed towards it while being around other devs such as CliffyB over at EPIC. Kojima is fascinated with Western culture, and the 360 is the most Western console. What will be your response when Kojima unveils an XBOX360 exclusive? If you still believe after all of the BS that has happened this gen, that ANY third party pub/dev will remain exclusive to one console, especially during a recession, then you are as blind as they come.

I was making a point at the fact that if Konami where to embark on other ventures Kojima would have a say so in the matter, regardless of what the issue is. I could care less if the Metal Gear Franchise goes to another platform or dies off. What I posted before regarding Kojima status at Konami is indeed factual information.

Any game can be ported to any platform given the time, commitment and funding. Regardless of the track record any studio has with any affiliation to a preferred platform.

I never made it seem nor I implied, I asked. Look back and re-read my comment.

I can tell you from experience on the projects that I have worked/currently working on, some things stay on certain platforms due to mutual or business reasons. I can tell you personally if my company gave me the green light on my IP I would make it multi-plat, I would love for anyone and everyone to enjoy my IP and of course sell many copy's as much as possible. But sometimes things just don’t work that way.

First of all, SSJ, can you type a reply without quoting everything I said? It's really annoying reading the same thing over again when I can tell what you are responding to. Secondly, if you felt that I have called you a name, then you must be extremely sensitive. Do you consider "boy" name calling? lmao. What I stated is that you are being blind to what the reality of the situation with Kojima is, and you continue to prove that to be true. I never said that Kojima had no say in what Konami does, nor did I disagree that he has made Konami what it is today. What I DID give you were reasons that Kojima himself would want to work on the XBOX360 which you just seemed to ignore. You tried to act as if Kojima prefers working on the PS3 because it is some sort of "superior" system when you mentioned that he was a perfectionist wanting to work on "new" platforms. Don't you realize that EVERY person on this site has read the articles about Kojima being a perfectionist and we ALL know he was disappointed with MGS4? What makes you think he can't attempt to achieve perfection on the XBOX360? That is the real question which you have simply sidestepped in a way that makes you look like you just have a special love for the PS3. You have given absolutely no real reason as to why Kojima would not make an XBOX360 exclusive game, and the best argument against that was made by Pennywise up to now (alienating 5 million fans). From our back and forth, I have learned that you type a massive amount of nothing. We are still at square one with you failing to provide any insight as to why Kojima would prefer working on the PS3. Can't you at least just say it's because he is Japanese or something?
